Have you used the DDP during F&WF? We won't be purchasing any alcoholic drinks, but I'm sure we will want to try several foods. Do these count as snacks or QS? We planned to take our first OOP trip, but I'm thinking DDP may still be our best option. It really depends on pricing at the food booths.

I know that there have been some recent changes in the DDP, one of which is that you can substitute 3 snacks for 1 QS meal (is that the conversion?) If so, I'm wondering if that would make the DDP more advantageous during the F&W. But wouldn't the 3 snacks have to be purchased at the same time and place? Can someone comment on how this might effect the F&W?

Do you normally save money on the DDP? It's tough to do. You could end up using all your snack credits in one day.

In our experience we ate various items over a 5-6 hour period but were still hungry at 8pm. It's not a lot of food. Depends on how big an eater you are.

I don't have the new DDP rules in front of me, but I recall reading that converting a QS credit to 3 snack credits would only be allowed in certain places, mainly at Disney Resort food courts. Disney's famous for simpleton explanations, then you find out more written details later. In the QS to snack conversion case, it might be that the resort food court conversion credits are only good at a resort food court and not usable for F&W (for example). But I'm guessing.

You will not be able to convert the QS to 3 F&W snacks. The F&W booths are not set up to take QS credits, so they cannot exchange them. Even if they could, you have do the exchange in one transaction, so you would have to get them all at the same kiosk.

Thanks all. It makes sense that you could only do this at resort food courts. However, I was still hoping! I can't decide about the DDP for me in October, but I'm considering putting the money I'd spend on the DDP on one gift card, then using the gift card for "DDP-eligible" food. One question-if I get the DDP, does it automatically now include a refillable mug or is that only on certain "levels" of the plan?
