We are AP holders but are thinking of getting the DDP for our 14 night trip (i know we will have get 1 day passes to qualify).

My question is do they let you use your DDE card for 20% off drinks or any OOP items when paying for the meal with DDP.

I can't decide if it is worth it for us, we will be doing a TS every day and some 2 per day (if we have a early character breakfast and later dinner). We will end up doing some OOP meals as we have CT, Artist Point, Cal Grill, Brown Derby amongst or ADR's which all require 2 credits.

We wouldn't usually go for that many CS meals during the day and would normally have a a quick bite between breakfast and dinner. Although this would change as I would want to use the credits up.

Were do people usually have breakfast on the dining plan - we are not ones to have breakfast in our room with items bought in, when we have been before we have had a CL room and take advantage of this for breakfast.

Help !!!

To be honest, if we had had APs, we'd definitely have chosen DDE over the Dining Plan. The whole "this would change as I would want to use the credits up" thing is the main reason why. I'd rather pay more and get less, quite frankly -- I feel like I have more control that way. Beyond that, I'm not sure that in your situation you wouldn't actually SAVE more money using DDE anyway.

It sounds like you may be having more TS meals than credits on the meal plan. If that is the case, DDE may work for you. We are AP holders and use the DDP on some of our trips. We are also using DDE. The 20% adds up to a lot of money, especially if you order drinks like we do.

Regarding breakfast, we usually also stay concierge when not staying DVC so breakfast is not a meal we eat out except we may eat at a character breakfast once in a while. I think your options may depend on where you are staying. You can get offerings similar to concierge at most counter service locations. DS14 loves the breakfast sandwiches. He ha had them at WL, BC Marketplace and OKW. Warning -they are huge. BW Bakery is another good choice.
Good luck with your decision.:)
