Before my main questions, I would like to ask something just for curiosity. If you were on Dining Plan, do you have to show the card (i.e. Resort Key) to the server prior to your order? Do they take your card at that time?

In the previous years (2006 & 2007) we had two identical experience at Hollywood & Vine. Once we were seated, our server asked to see our Resort ID and then disappeared for the next hour or so (and she kept DH's Resort ID). After an hour, she returns with the receipt (TS deducted). Is this normal for a buffet-style restaurant in Disney?

We will return to the World in a few weeks. This time - Party of six (2 rooms) on Deluxe DDP.

1. Tips - I understood that 18% is mandatory. If I charge to room, can I pay more tips, or I have to pay the extra tips in cash?

2. There are two adults (MIL and FIL) in another room. Usually upon check-in, DW asked front-desk to disable the charging previllege of their resort IDs (i.e. they cannot charge to room). Will this affect the tipping?

3. Based on #2 - I guess server will bring us two separate bills at the end of each TS meal. If my parents-in-law's room key are not authorized for charging, is it possible to charge the tips to our room?
i.e.

Room 1: 4TS (e.g. $100) + 18% gratuity
Room 2: 2TS (e.g. $50) + 18% gratuity

Charge 4TS + $30 to our room for total tips
Charge 2TS to the other room

Is that possible?

4. For those who were on Deluxe DDP, how do you get your refillable mugs? Does Disney mail you a voucher?

1. There is supposedly another line that allows you to tip whatever you would like. Although, there have been reports that this amount has been added to the mandatory 18%

2. Yes. They will have to pay with cash or a cc.

3. I would say the answer to this is yes.

4. You "purchase" your mugs at counter service locations at your resort. Your card is swiped and the credit for the mugs is then taken from your DxDP.

Thank you. I hope I have to option to pay more, if I can receive good service :)
