Do you think it would be a smart idea for Disney to allow people to retain their Dinning plan when they move from one resort to another? Why?

I think Disney might make more money by allowing this because I believe most people will choose a value or mod over a deluxe if they have to pick only one for their entire stay, but they would do a few days at a deluxe if they could (and might never go back to the cheaper resorts).

:rotfl2: I deleted that because I wasn't going to bother posting this stupid thing but it posted anyway. OOPS.

My kids are driving me nuts so I can see how I just confused you. Yes you CAN have the dining plan at two resorts IF you want to get two sets of tickets. I don't think most people will do that (Dis people are different and probably do it more than non-Disney freaks). You have to get at least one day tickets for both resort stays. Also if you switch your plan it can cause issues with when you spend the credits. You can't keep the credits from the first stay to combine with those of the second stay. I just figure most people think that its already difficult enough to keep track and so they only go to one resort or don't do the plan.

don't understand your question...why can't you have dining plan at a split stay. I'm sure I've read of people even switching it up, getting Basic at one resort & switching to Deluxe on their second resort.

You can't get the dining plan at a split stay on package reservations without buying park tickets for the second stay (unless you are an annual passholder). It's a problem for anyone trying to save money on tickets that they have to buy a second ticket to keep the dining plan.

I don't have a problem with the way they do it now. Disney is interested in selling package reservations at its resorts - that's why you can't get the dining plan some other way. They'd have to remove the requirement that you buy a package reservation to set up split stays.

I must have been reading Trip reports from AP holders or maybe DVC folks doing additional days. Good to know you can't do it with regular packages.

I've seen reports from some who like the dining plan so much that they buy the extra ticket to get it on split stays. If you buy a one-day ticket for the second stay, you can keep it and it's good forever. You can use them to upgrade to another ticket purchase or an annual pass if you want.

I agree, Disney should allow a split stay with dinning plan at both. Maybe they should do it for stays involving 7 days or more. Then again, I bet they sell alot of those 1 day package tickets. I read here that less than 15% of people that buy tickets to be used in the future never wind up using them. Hmmm - wish I knew some of them!!!
