I am sure this has been asked before. So I have 4 people on the Dining Plan coming up. Thus if we go to dinner one night, is this telling me, that I could actually have 4 entree's and 4 appetizers. Who eats all of that?

It is tons of food. We usually order differnt things so we can sample different things. After a while we just order 1 appetizer. Way too much food! But half the fun is taking pictures of it.

Keep in mind that all appetizers are not create equally. I had the scallops at the Concourse and got 2. I had the shrimp at Spoodles and got 3. The tiny crab cakes at Kona (about the size of a quarter) you get 3. So alot of the appetizers are just a bite or two. However, if you get the onion rings at the Concourse, you have enough for everyone at the table (same for buffalo wings there too).

I just had the scallops at Concourse on Saturday and got 6! Maybe people were complaining. Of course, after all those scallops, and a steak dinner, I got my dessert to go! :rotfl:

I think you can share too.. so that you stretch your credits?? Not positive though. i.e. only order 2 or three meals (appt. main and dessert) if you did that 4 times you would have an extra meal for your group

That is good to know. The last time (Oct 06) they brought out this huge plate with these 2 scallops, everyone just looked at each other and was thinking, $10 for this -- glad we were on the DDP (and I'm not a big eater). Yes, we usually get desert to go here too. My hubby loves the carrot cake, so I get mine to go and he eats it later. Probably did get complaints. Maybe I'll order it again next month.

Good to know about the scallops I was going to order but will ask how many first? I think onion rings and wings would be chosen by others in my group!

are you only allowed to order certain things from the menus

I don't remember there being any limitations to what you could order on the dining plan at any of the restaurants we ate at in Oct. To which restaurants are you refering? DDP customers do not have different menus and are not limited to certain entrees, etc.

I know you can't order the sushi appetizer on the DDP at Wolfgang Puck Cafe and you can't order specialty drinks, and you can only get the lobster tail add on with the steak at Capt. Jacks, but other than those, there really aren't too many limits on the DDP.

I agree, not all portions are equal. We had the crab cakes a couple of times and they were really more of a bite than a portion. The shrimp was the same. On the other hand, the mussels at Le Cellier could have been an entree.

I wouldn't count on this. People are getting emails saying no sharing on the DDP from guest services.

We are a family of fairly big eaters and it is even a ton of food for us. The challenge becomes spacing meals far apart so we are hungry going into a restaurant. I also got comfortable sampling portions of the meal and not freaking out about wasting food. Not sure if its ethical, but we learned to let it be thrown out when we were full. I have to admit - its fun to try different appetizers and deserts!

The biggest appetizer is the nacho's at ESPN Club. 4 people could share one and get full.

Most of the appetizers are what I'll call "fancy restaurant" size. A good amount for one person, rather than the "shared" style appetizers that alot of casual restaurants have. I was definitely full, but as long as you don't eat every single bite of each course, I wouldn't say it was too much! :thumbsup2

I can not wait to use the DDP! Every other time we have went we were on such a budget that meal times were not fun. Walking by all the good places to eat on our way to another cheap as possible meal. I got sick of burger and fries both meals every day. Having snacks in the room because we skipped a meal.

The thought of going to all these great places and being able to order appetisers AND desserts for all three of use is heaven. I don't care if half of the food is thrown away. The idea of not having to skip them is what I can't wait for. We are going to order everything we can and eat at least a little of everything. Don't care if we waste food and don't care if we gain 50 pounds! :woohoo:
