DDP and split stays

I am considering adding the DDP plan to my reservation. My question is I have a split stay...first 3 nights at POP and than next 7 at Beach Club.

Would I be getting two DDP plans? The first good only for my first 3 nights and the second good for the next 7? The reason I ask is I have what would be considered 4 TS credits currently planned for my first 3 days and wondering if I need to move some stuff around to maximize the value of the plan.

Unless you are an annual passholder, you will need to buy theme park tickets with both of those reservations in order to add the dining plan to both of them. If the Beach Club reservation is a DVC one at the villas, you wouldn't need to buy tickets with that one. Buying theme park tickets for length of the stay at each resort only would result in your losing some of the savings involved in buying only one theme park ticket for the full length of the stay - park tickets are cheaper per day the longer you buy them for. The only way to get around this is to buy a park ticket that covers your entire stay, OR a ticket that leaves off one day you want to spend in a park, with the first reservation - and then buy one-day base tickets for everyone on the second reservation.

On the Pop reservation, because it is 3 nights you would have only 3 TS credits per person, which would expire at midnight of the day you check out of Pop.

I am not an AP holder and it is not a DVC res at BC.

So is it tied to the park ticket and not the room reservation? I was planning on getting 10-day park tickets when we get there. I was planning on getting the one-day ticket for the BC res and just hang onto those for later use.

So it sounds like if we get the 10-day tickets I can add a 10-day DDP plan on?

No, your DDP is tied to the nights you stay at the resort. 3 nights at POP, 3 credits (TS, CS, S), 7 nights at BC, 7 credits. You can use your leftover credits until 11.59pm on your day of checkout and your new credits are good as soon as you check in if that helps.

I would also want to know about it because some of my friends are having a trip and do same situation. Thanks for the info coming here.

Have a nice day. :)

You are likely to be better off getting annual passes. That will cost about the same as what you describe. AP holders don't have to buy park tickets to also purchase the DP, so you wouldn't have to buy the second ticket for your BC stay. Call Disney to confirm the logistics and pricing for doing this.

If you can book another trip within the next yr you'll get an extra trip (or 3 :rotfl: ) for the same money you would have spent on tickets for this one trip.

Keep in mind that all of this should be done prior to your 45 day mark to avoid additional fees being charged by Disney for changes to the ressie.

Yes, under the scenario you describe, you'll have two separate DDP "accounts".

The good news is that they overlap by one day -- your first "account" credits are valid until midnight of the day you check out from that resort, and your second "account" credits are active as soon as you check in to your second resort.

Which means: check in at the second resort ASAP, even if you can't get access to the room, just to activate the DDP portion of the KTTW card.

Assuming you mean, by "first three days", that the third day is the overlapping day, you can use you second "account" for the 4th TS credit on the third day. If that assumption isn't true, then you'll have one OOP meal to account for.

DDP is not tied to your park tickets at all. It is tied exclusively to the nights you stay at the resort. However, unless you are a DVC member or annual passholder you may purchase the plan only as a component of a room/tickets/dining package and you cannot get DDP unless you purchase some form of park ticket with both reservations.

I too will have two separate dining plans, so I am mixing it up a bit and going with the quick service for one of my resorts and the basic for the other. Just a thought.
