I have been told two different things about how the DDP works when booking the "International Buffet and Illuminations Dessert" through MS.
When this meal is booked through the Grand Gatherings office, payment is required 45 days in advance.
When I first booked this buffet through MS (using the DDP) I was told that I wouldn't have to pay in advance and that I would just have to pay for the DDP at check-in as usual -- and the 2 table service credits per person would be deducted at that time. But shortly thereafter I received two phone calls from MS each indicating that I would have to purchase my DDP 45 days in advance to cover the advance payment requirement.
Because THAT didn't seem right I called back today. Larry at MS told me that I DON'T have to pay in advance. When the "IBID" is booked through MS and DVC, they enter a "special code" which allows me to pay for the DDP when I check in -- essentially eliminating the advance purchase requirement for this event.
Larry sounded like he knew what he was talking about. He assured me I wasn't going to lose my reservation for the buffet.
Has anyone else booked this through DVC using the DDP???
