Just back from a 6-night stay at the Polynesian on the DDP. Our first experience with the DDP.

TS: Ohana (dinner), Crystal Palace (late breakfast), Kona Cafe (breakfast), Whispering Canyon, Cindarella's Royal Table (breakfast - paid cash), Boma (dinner) and Chef Mickey's (breakfast).

CS: Sunshine Seasons (dinner); Tangierine Cafe (dinner); Tusker House (lunch); Yakitori House (dinner); Captain Cooks (lunch)

Snacks: used mostly on Kona Coffee and giant (32 oz.) bottled water for sharing in the parks.

I'd be happy to elaborate on details of our experiences with any of the above, but I'm sure you've read plenty of detailed reviews of each already in this forum. Instead, I'd say simply that we enjoyed thoroughly all of our TS meals (either because of the food or the interaction), we felt that for the most part we got great value for our CS credits, and that in my experience, any food or beverage noted for less than $4.00 could be had for a snack credit, whether it was specifically denoted as a "snack" or not.

Best meal by far (for the food) was Boma dinner. We also really enjoyed Tangierine Cafe in the Morocco section of Epcot.

Thanks for the reviews. Glad you had a great trip. Tangierine Cafe is one of our favorites too. We're really looking forward to eating there next trip.

Question, where did you get the 32 oz. water from?

32 oz. Dasani sold for $3.50 (or one snack credit) at the Trader Joe's shop on the 2nd floor of the Great Ceremonial House at the Polynesian (same floor as Ohana and Kona Cafe). It was quite convenient -- I bought one each evening, and used it to fill water bottles for each of the kids (and my wife and me) for the next day in the parks.

Of our 4 daily snack credits, on most days I'd use one for a Kona coffee and one for one of those big bottles of water.

Curiously, I didn't notice any of the 32 oz. bottles of water for sale at snack carts or in restaurants in the parks. I didn't really have occasion to look in the "snack bars" at other resorts.

thanks for sharing...can you elaborate a little on Sunshine Seasons? Have been hearing mixed things about it lately and would like to know what you got and what you thought of it (since we had been planning on that as one of our CS meals).

Also, did you get the Kona Coffee at the cart in the Poly?

How was Whispering Canyon? I've been hearing very mixed reviews and I'm wondering whether it is worth it to go to the WL. I'm curious about the food and the antics? Thanks for the report. I can't wait to try Boma's!

Ioqool and bluejasmine: We enjoyed Sunshine Seasons in the Land pavillion at Epcot. Not necessarily our top CS destination, but we were able to avoid the usual hot dog / burger / chicken fingers / pizza fare for both adults and kids, and that was important to us in picking our dining options. Lots of choices -- salmon, made-to-order deli sandwiches, varieties of soups and salads, fruits, breads, good desserts, asian stir fry and noodle bowls, etc. I recall I had some sort of stir fry thing that was pretty good along with some mixed, cut fruit (which counted as my dessert), and my wife had some turkey panini-esque sort of sandwich. Kids ate from the kids menus, which were fine. If you have the 2006 Unofficial Guide, there's a pretty accurate description in there, too.

Tidus: We enjoyed Whispering Canyon, just as we did when we stayed at the WL on our last WDW trip 4 years ago. Our family enjoys the antics, so we pretty much got into things right from the start. Our kids loved it, and as for the adults, you simly need to be in the right frame of mind going in. As for the food, we got the "skillet," which is your basic western-style meat fest: BBQ pork, ribs, sausage (just about all my 2-year-old at that evening, because we convinced her it was a hot dog), baked beans, corn. Nothing mind-blowing mind you, but certainly tasty if you like that sort of chow.
