Deciding to take Rascal scooter or manual wheelchair to DW in Jan. Booked a preferred room at the Music Resort. Does anyone know the door width to see if my scooter will fit?
Opinions please also...............scooter or manual wheelchair?

Most ECVs are 19 to 24 inches wide. Room entry doors are either 32 or 36 inches, so there is no problem.

Usually having an ECV tends to be better than a wheelchair, especially since most people tend to do 8-12 miles per day at WDW. That is a lot of wheeling or pushing.

I looked at Rascal's site and it seems they have onboard charging systems, so in case you have a long say you can easily recharge it at a park (while eating, for example).

The Rascal would give you a lot more independence and not have to worry about pushing the wheelchair.

Will be no problem. ASMu is my favorite resort and I use a Mini Jazzy PWC and have no trouble with the doors there. Used to use an ECV and never had a problem there either.

Thanks for all the replies. Guess I will get a new set of batteries and the Scooter it is. I am able to get off the scooter and walk onto any rides. Will it be ok sitting till we get off? I can walk...just not long distances and standing is hard for me....I am thinking of the lines we will have to wait in.

Some of the lines, such as Soarin', are extremely long and you really can't tell from the outside. Unless you can see the entire length of the queue, up to the actual boarding area, I would suggest that you take the ECV on the line with you. This can be done at almost every line in the parks; and if it cannot you will be directed to an alternate entrance.

you can park it with the strollers, take the key and leave it.
I would suggest re-thinking walking in lines though. Many are a longer distance than they look from the outside and even if the wait is short, the distance might not be.
Plus, some attractions have a preshow that you stand for unless you have brought a wheelchair/ECV in with you. That would be anything that has a theater; they basically have enough people to fill the next show standing in a waiting spot until the theater is empty for them. Some have a few seats in the waiting area, but many have no seats at all and you will be standing for at least as long as the show.

And some, like Soarin', have very long queues even when you are using Fastpass and will be riding within a few minutes.

Great info...Thanks. If I take the scooter in line with me to the ride...do you get off at the same place on most of the rides? Scooter can sit there? Sorry about so many questions...just want to plan ahead for a nice relaxing vacation...

Yes.
You will most of the time board at the same place you will be getting off.
That sometimes means that you will use a different boarding area than the 'usual' entrance. The CMs will route you to the appropriate entrance.
