I have a question and I hope this is the right forum
Do you think the DDE is worth the price? Here is our situation
We are going to wdw 12/14-12/23 and we plan to go to mainly counter services to save money and we are staying at POP. I see the dde is mainly just for use at the resorts and a select restaurants in the parks. However none of the ones listed are any of the places that we had picked to eat because they werent as good a value as the counter service for our budget.
I know the DDE will be good at our resort but we really dont plan to eat their that much mainly in the parks. The only big meal we have planned is for chef mickey. Which we figure would save us $20 however the DDE is $85 so I really am on the fence.

What do you guys think

As you describe your plans, DDE makes no sense for you. It is necessary to spend $325 at restaurants that accept it to break even.

If you are eating at pretty much counter service restaurants I would advise checking into the Dining Plan, but if you can't eat a table service, counter service and snack per day you may want to avoid that as well. You may be better to just spend out of pocket on your meals.

One note about the DDE. There are some counter service locations that accept it. Specifically, all the counter service restaurants in Animal Kingdom. Since there are no table service restaurants within the Animal Kingdom (yet - Yak and Yeti will be online in October and Tusker House early 2008) the counter service restaurants accept it.
