DDE/TIW Card Help

Thank you so much....I leave in alittle over 2 weeks so I guess I better play it safe and just get it when I get down there...I will be at SSR so I guess I'll walk over to DTD or take a ride to the parks....Thank you for answering...:goodvibes

I find it interesting that so many of you think the Tyvek APs are so awful! I LOVE them! They don't get demagnatized as easily as the room keys. With the room keys, I always have to be careful not to get them near my credit card or cell phone. If I do, it gets "zapped"! I've never had that happen to a Tyvek AP! The're pretty tough too! The thing I wish they'd make out of Tyvek is the AP holder! That thing never even lasts a trip!

We have never had a problem either, I think that it is a perception issue. They look like they will tear so people assume that they do.

I purchased a TIW card at the beginning of our short trip last month. I did get it at the Epcot guest services, but only because that was the first park we visited during the trip. It took less than 10 minutes to get an AP and the TIW card.

I really do like this program. Not only does it give a 20% discount on food, but it also gives a discount on adult beverages (worked real nice for the two bottles of wine and a round of single malts at Narcoosee's the last trip). It is also good for parties of up to 10.

We did get lunch at the Flame Tree (AWESOME RIBS!!!!!) at AK and were not charged the 18% tip.

I have a question re TIW discount... We are currently debating our first AP's, as we have 3 different trips of 5 days or longer within 12 months time in the works, for the first time ever. So, now we're also considering TIW. We typically eat 1 TS meal per day, typically mid-day, this may or may not work for us....I will have to run the numbers stil. But, my question is...

We are thinking about (currently in discussion with) taking a trip home with friends of ours next summer. And are curious, how the TIW works with 'split checks'. Will we be able to get separate checks and will our friends be able to take advantage of the discount as well?

Here's the application for TIW:

Info for calling is also on the application. You can also just wait like PP said and purchase at guest services. This past year we actually purchased ours at the guest services booth at the international gateway while we were activating our AP's.

I am so glad you posted this. I have been wondering if we could purchase TiW at the international gateway since we have to activate our AP's!! We will be there the last week of February.

We also are traveling with another family this summer, which is one of the reasons we opted for the TIW card. It obviously depends on the comfort level you have with the other family, but we are planning on just doing one check and splitting it later. I'm pretty sure that to use the discount for all of the members of the party that it has to be on one check. Someone correct me if I'm wrong?

Our experience is that it had to be one check.

I don't know if they will split the checks, but on our recent trip, we had a second couple with us. Each couple used a seperate credit card to pay for our share and we normally just cut the bill in half.

One check per TIW card holder, good for a discount on up to 10 total guests. If two people have the TIW card, you could split it into two checks.

I don't believe the card holder needs to be the one paying, only they need to be part of the party.

A bit more info, as I don't think it has been mentioned: There are blackout dates (major holidays), it cannot be used for dining packages, special dining events or with other discounts. Some have said that they've gotten the discount anyways, though...

Wow....I didnt think about 'black out' dates. Is there someplace I can see the black out dates? We happen to be taking 2 of the trips 'close to' holidays.... one June 26-July 3, the other Dec 27-Jan 2.

Blockout dates for the Tables in Wonderland are Mothers Day, Easter Sunday, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Correct. AllEars.net has a good reference for this stuff.

does anyone know how late the Guest Services kiosk is open in DTD? My flight arrives around 5 p.m. and I was planning to go to DTD that night after checking in--would like to get the TIW card then if I can.

It closes whenever DtD closes, 10pm or 11pm.
