DDE savings

Just returned and saved $92 with DDE. Plus whatever the savings for HDDR was, didn't include that in the 92 because I am not sure what it was.

We ate at WCC, Boma, Tusker House, Garden Grill, Chef Mickeys, Sci-Fi, LTT and at our foodcourt in POFQ where they take DDE. So after paying $50 for it we came out $42 ahead plus the HDDR savings!

It was a great thing.

We saved about that on our June trip. Every $ saved is more to spend on Disney stuff!!! We will be renewing our DDE card in April to use in August, since it's not economical to do the dining plan with a split stay. I'm sure glad we have that option.

DDE also gives you 20% discount on "adult beverages" which is a big plus!

Not only that but we are going back at the end of Nov so there will be even more savings

Maria395712 - I just called for my DDE card and was told I could pick up a temporary card at epcot guest relations with an ID.

We haven't taken our trip yet this year, but will be staying 22 nights in November/December, on property. EVERY meal is planned and of the planned 66 meals (me and DW), 62 will be eligible for the DDE discount AND we have four different tours planned with the AP discount.

Think the APs and DDE paid for themselves...

We do.

No comparison. The AP discount is strict and usually limited to lunch at certain restaurants. The DDE is much better. We got our initial $50 back within 3 days at WDW and that was only for a family of 3 adults and one 6 y/o. By the end of the 11 day trip we had an overall savings of $300. Not bad! We are also using the card for our 7 day trip in December and our 14 day trip in June. The savings will be huge.

All the counter services took the DDE card. Only the resort food places at the deluxes did not accept them. We had the same discount at all the counter ones so there wasn't a reason to be more happy with one then the other.

I thought the DDE was only accepted at resorts where there was no table service such as POP or ASMo. Can someone clarify?

I didn't think so either, but I checked the list that came with the card and found that places like the food courts at the All Star Resorts, some of the lounges and Sassagoula Floatworks at POFQ. However, one of our favorites, the food court at POR is not listed. The River Roost lounge at POR is on the list.

As non-residents, the AP/DDE has saved us at least $2000 this year. We visit often, and with large (ish) groups and use TS spots most of the time. It's been a wonderful thing for us!
