DDE Renewal Question

We received the DDE renewal application in the mail with the new renewal rate for us (AP Holders) of $60. In a footnote on the app it says that if you don't renew within 30 days of the expiration the new full member rate will apply. I'm not sure what that rate is? There is no differentiation on the app between new and renewal rates, however at the top they ask you if you're a new member or renewing member. Does anyone know if there is a difference between new and renewal rates? TIA

That's strange. The full rate for Florida residents (according to Mousesavers) is 85 dollars per year. However, the rate for AP holders, regardless of where you live, is 60 per year so I can't figure out what they mean by "the new full member rate will apply" when that rate is 60 dollars.

Perhaps they send the same renewal letter to AP holders and to Florida Residents (who don't have APs) and they're saying that Florida residents could save 25 by renewing within a month (i.e. pay 60 instead of 85) but then if that's what they're doing then they need to send a different letter to AP holders offering a discount incentive to renew early, e.g. charge 50 dollars instead of 60. All very confusing and worth bringing to their attention I'd say.

I'm a FL resident with an AP. The way it reads we don't get an incentive for renewing early.

General Membership (for Florida residents only) - $85 per year.

Annual or Seasonal Passholders - $60 per year.

$25 charge for a secondary membership

Renewal for Passholders is $60 per year;

Florida resident, non-passholder renewal is $70 per year


So, FL residents with no AP do get a discounted renewal fee. Everyone else pays the same every year.
