DDE question

I think I probably know the answer but here I go:
I am going to Disney in 10 days. I am planning to purchase annual passes (upgrading some left over tickets). Since I'm planning to use old tickets I can't buy my passes ahead of time (I assume). My question is "Can I buy the DDE at the same time?".

From what I understand, you have to call the DDE office and they will issue a temporary card which you can then pick up at guest services. I do not believe you can buy it "in person." Check the DDE office hours also; I think I have read they are not open on weekends.

I happen to have the phone# in front of me....

Disney's Dining Experience office: (407)566-5858 M-F 9:00am-5:00pm.

My info says... "Membership is not available on property. Membership is only available by mail or phone."

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info. I guess this time I'll buy the passes and when I get home call for the dining. At least I'll have it for the next time I visit.

Once you have the passes, even if you are at the parks, you should be able to call the DDE number and sign up for the card.

You have to pick up the voucher at EPCOT guest relations (outside of turnstiles - at the far right side where the gift shop is) - and I believe the day I called they told me the next day I should be able to pick up the temporary card.

Yes, last May with family of 10 in 5 days saved over $600 with the card.

Well, I will try. This time I'm only there for 3 nights. I will purchase passes as soon as I get there and then call DDE. We plan on eating in Epcot anyway, so maybe by the last day, I will be able to use DDE. It's worth a try. Thanks for all the info.

Can you post back and let us know if you were able to get the card? I maybe doing something similar in September but wasn't sure if it was possible.

TIA :)

I certainly will. I'm going on Feb 27th in the evening. Hopefully I'll get my passes then. The next morning I will call DDE. Maybe by the time I get to the parks I can pick up the voucher. Like I said, if it doesn't work, I'll have DDE for my next visit.

bunnyfoo- I called DDE today and told them I was buying my annual passes when I arrive (after they close). I was told that as soon as you get your passes to call and if it is before 5:30 they will hand deliver an authorization to guest services at EPCOT to be picked up after 5:30. In my case, I will have to call next morning and pick up after 5:30 that day. So I CAN use it on that evening and my last. Hope this information helped you.

Thanks for the info zizzyx! That will probably work out for us because we usually arrive and buy passes the morning we arrive.

Hope you'll have a great trip :)
