DDE & large group

Knowing that the DDE card only covers the card holder and 9 others, my question is, what happens when there are more than 10 in our group? How does the server figure which 10 dinners to discount? And then the rest of the bill is figured at the regular prices? Or do we get 2 separate checks? (one for the regular prices & one for DDE).

If I am the card holder, do I have to be the one to actually pay (room charge or CC)? Or can another 'discounted diner' pay (on the outside chance that someone in our group wants to treat us! )

Also, what kind of ID do I have to carry/show for this?

Disney's Dining Experience Benefits:

we have been asked for a photo ID to prove the card ...drivers license, passport etc..

Brikate: Can't help with the over 10 thing. But in spite of having my driver's license with me at all times, I had only to present the actual DDE card. Never once asked for anything else.
I'd have my license on hand tho, just in case--.

I don't know about the over 10 thing, sorry. But unless you are using cash, when you pay, you have to give them something to pay with, a credit card or room key or something. So you are essentially giving them a form of ID when you pay. If you plan to pay with cash, then I would be prepared to show ID.

They do not require that the card holder be the one that pays. You can ask for a separate check for the ones that will not be getting the DDE discount. These should be things as children's meals and/or people who don't purchase any alcoholic beverages. Note that they will add an automatic gratuity since there are eight or more people, even with separate checks.

Thanks to the DVC discount on the AP & the AP discount on the DDE, this will be the first time for us using one of Disney's dinning programs. It helps to have my facts straight before we get there.

DUH! I ALWAYS have my license (along with room key & AP) with me - I don't know what I was thinking. I'm a dork!

So now another question ... Since we leave in 37 days and I have not yet ordered my DDE card, there's a slim chance that I'll get it in time. So, I will need to go to Epcot's guest services (inside the park? or outside the gate?) and they will give me a temporary card? or letter? to use until I receive the actual card in the mail. And when do I request a spouse card? When I pick it up? or when I order it?

Thanks for indulging me what must be redundant questions, but it seems that the more I search, the more confused I get.

Epcot Guest Services is outside the park. Its to the far right of the turnstiles at the entrance to Epcot. They will give you a temporary card and a letter that explains where the card can be used. I requested a spouse card when I ordered the DDE.
