We are going in less than two weeks!!! I am going to order my DDE card tomorrow morning--so excited. However, in listening to the recorded spiel on the phone, the voice indicated that "during busy seasons like the holidays, it is possible that not all DDE restaraunts will accept the card." What is that???? :confused3

I know that Christmas and Christmas Day are "blackouts," but can they just arbitrarily stop accepting the card because it gets busy? And if so, do you know which restaurants will stop taking it?

Thanks for any help!

I believe the block-out days are New Year's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve.

And New years day.

Disney can do whatever they want, and like everything else, discounts are subject to change at any time.

Good luck!

Not sure if you will get it in time since you are leaving in two weeks. I ordered ours about a month ago and just got it last week.

ALSO - no DDE on 4th of July.
We plan on doing AK and Rain Forrest Cafe on the 4th of July.

There is a little item in their official policy which mentions "holidays"--AFTER already mentioning the blackout days themselves. And then something about calling the restaurant to find out what it all might mean. Which of course you won't need to do on the blacked out holiday "days" themselves--
Suspicious, certainly.

We have never had a problem going on the holidays that aren't listed on the card. Once we were able to get the discount on a major holiday but I figured that was a mistake by the server because we didn't know about that before hand.

I ordered mine today for our upcoming trip in early January. :cheer2: It should still be good for the next trip in December 2006.

The CM who handled the order told me that it would be three to five weeks to get the card, but temporary ones would be available at the Epcot entrance guest services.
