If you get a DDE card is it true that you can get free valet parking if you present a food receipt for that location?

As a Brit we are not known for tipping, but when in Rome.... so what would be the appropriate amount to tip for 'free' valet parking? Do you tip when dropping off car or collecting car or both?

We are eating breakfast at Chef Mickeys and then want to go to MK. Could we then leave car at Contemporary valet and collect later in day avoiding parking at TTC.

Thanks for any advice

Tony

If you're not a Florida resident, you need to be an annual passholder to get the DDE card. AP holders get free parking at the theme parks, so I would drive to the TTC rather than leave your car parked at the Contemporary. The hotels frown on using their lots for theme park parking.

Yes, you get free valet parking: http://allearsnet.com/din/dde.htm Big spender that I am, I usually tip the person who brings me my car $1. :teeth: Sometimes I tip the person taking it, and sometimes I don't.

I have to DDE card and yes, I use it to valet for free when dining. When we pull up to the valet, I let them know I have a DDE card. I have never had to show a receipt when picking up my car. I tip $3 when picking up my car.

I would valet at Contemporary and take the monorail. You will not have a problem at all.

Have fun!

As long as it isn't at a busy time of year, don't worry about valet-parking at CR and then going into MK after eating.

As a DDE member I have received free valet parking at many resorts (GF, Poly, CR, AKL, Boardwalk, BC). We tip $2 to $3 both when dropping off and picking up for the conveinance the valet parking provides. We tip this amount whether we are receiving free parking or not.

We have valet for breakfast at both the Poly and the Grand Floridian and not had any trouble leaving the car while we go to the parks for the morning. We've asked each time and each time they have allowed and encouraged us to do so. We don't go during really busy times so I don't think they care so much because their lots aren't really very full
