Have you actually done this and gotten the discount? Or did you just hear it from someone? I'm just curious because as a CM we don't get the discount on the Fantasmic dinner package or CP packages. Would seem kind of strange that they allow it for DDE and not it's own CMs. But of course the DDE gets you the discount on alcohol and we don't get a discount on that either. We do have the same black out dates though.

When I called Disney to ask if I could use the DDE for the Fantasmic Dinner Package, I was told I could NOT use it. I have reservations at Hollywood & Vine. If I can use it here it, then it definately worth it. Otherwise, I'm on the borderline.

Thank you for letting me know that you can NOT use the DDE for the Fantasmic dinner package. As a CM family I just couldn't believe that DDE would offer it, but not for the CM discount. Yes you can get it off of H&V as we do, but if you book it as a "package" you will get NO discount off of your meal or package. This happened to us when we called in December to see if there was a CM discount off of the CP package at graden grill. We again were told no. You can book the meal and get the discount but not the perks of the package. So yes to the discount if you just want to eat at H&V, but no discount if you book it as a Fantasmic package. Anyone who thinks that they are getting a DDE discount off of their Fantasmic package better call dining and double check to see if they changed their policy, because it sounds like it's still no.

We were told no when we asked the CM. AND I keep thinking that we also read this in the info about DDE. I just can't remember Where.

We used it at Mama Melroses for Fantasmic. When we made PS, we didnt have the card. We presented it to our waiter and he did the discount.

January 13th we also used it at Hollywood & Vine for the Fanstasmic Pkg. No problem. I just showed the waiter the e-mail, he asked for my drivers license, and we saved 20%. He brought us two tickets--one before the discount and one after the discount (I guess so we would know how much to tip on).

This is an important distinction ..... anyone else turned down trying to use DDE for Fantasmic package? With the per person charge 48 hr cancelation policy if something comes up, I was only willing to "risk" it if I would get the 20% off. I'll just make a normal PS for a regular dinner if thats the only way to get 20% off. I thought I would be able to use the DDE when I booked the Fantasmic package. It seems like there should be a way to find out officially the policy and it should be noted in DDE information package. There is a lot of confusion if you just ask CMs who have different info. I see a lot of people quoting DDE holiday exclusion list (which does NOT list valentines day) but when I was making a PS, she informed me it was a holiday so would need credit card number. I asked if its a holiday does that mean I would not get the DDE discount and she said that was correct. If its not listed as a specific date excluded on the DDE information sheet, I think it would be tough for them to deny it ........ but that's what the CM said. Is the Fantasmic package specifically excluded? I don't feel comfortable trusting "what the CM said on phone" since it often varies or personal experiences since maybe the policy changed or is now being inforced.

n2mm..... There are seveal places that a CM discount does not work such as Cinderallas Royal Table Character Breakfast and Beaches and Creme at the Y&B Club that the DDE does work at so it is possible that the DDE does work at the Fantasmic Dinner Pkg.

Strange! As I previously posted, I used it Jan 13th at Hollywood & Vine for Fantasmic with no problem. I specifically asked when I ordered it and was told it was good for Fantasmic at any of the participating restaurants (as well as character meals). I was told I could not use it on certain blackout days, although some restaurants would accept it on those days and it was up to each restauraant. I was also told I could not use it in conjunction with any other discounts (like an additional 10% off with my AP), but you don't get a discount for the Fantasmic Pkg (only a voucher) so the DDE would be accepted. Other than having to show my drivers license I had no problem using it that night.

I just checked mousesavers and the allears site and the only thing mentioned are the blackout dates and that it can't be used in conjunction with another 'discount'.

When you read the stipulations on the DDE, I don't remember seeing anywhere that it couldn't be used for a Fantasmic package. I mean, I would still do the package because it's a great thing and saves an hour and a half, but come on...I wish Disney would get everyone on the same page here and be consistent. I mean, I understand that this is new for AP holders and everything, but it's getting really frustrating here-not knowing and all.

Maybe they allowed it when only offered to FL residents but now as more people have DDE perks, they decided to limit it when it comes to Fantasmic packages.

In November I used the DDE at Hollywood and Vine for the Fantasmic Package with no problems. If they have altered the arrangement they havent posted it anywhere or let anyone know. As I understand it becasue of the influx of DDE requests being offered to AP holders they staffed the phones with people who generally no very little about the DDE program. So that may be some of the confusion.

If a waiter tells me no then I would probably have to speak to someone higher up in the chain just to make sure.

I just called to change a few priority seatings and to see if I could apply the DDE to my Fantasmic Package at Hollywood and Vine and she said no. She was reading off of something. She then checked all the other locations for Fantasmic and said that they all said no. This was one of the reasons I ordered the silly card! It doesn't stipulate that anywhere on the printout that you get either. I guess the only thing I can do is try at the restaurant. I only booked it for the package no for the sake of eating at Hollywood and Vine. Please let us know your experiences lately with this.

There are no discounts on packages whether they are Fantasmic or the CP packages at EPCOT in December. CMs can not get a discount on the Fantasmic packages either. This is not written anywhere, but it isn't for CM discounts either. I only know because I called this December and asked about the CM discount on the CP dinner packages. You can get the discount on your meal, but not if you choose to do the Fantasmic package. Some folks have reported that they were lucky enough to get the server to ring up the discount, but this is not the regular practice.
