DDE card can now be purchased by AP holders! Woo Hoo!

Hey All,

This is SUCH a bonus, almost all of my favorite restaurants are part of the program. Anyone happen to know if I can get this done at WDW? Allears.net says it takes 2-3 weeks to get the card, and as you can see by my countdown clock that isn't going to cut it for me.
 :flower1:

Hi idratherbeinwdw

I ordered mine tonight - we're going to be at WDW from 1/22-1/29. The cards are processed "off-site" and take 6-8 weeks to arrive. :earseek: HOWEVER...the very nice CM (Rosa) said she'd email me a letter that I could use in the mean time! I figure the card will pay for itself by the end of my second day... :D :cool1:

Does this cover breakfast, lunch and dinner?

And if our AP expires in June, will the DDE still be good thru the end of January 2006? (Cause we planned a trip that month.)

When I ordered mine this morning, I asked, and was told Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner :)

Since it is an AP perk, I don't know if you'll need to show an active AP when you use it. FL Residents had to show ID.

Do you know the price?

The price is $50 and you get two cards.

I am ready to start saving NOW!!! :earboy2: and and...hubby will be so happy, because it means I will be more willing to eat at some of the restaurants he wants to try :) gee...wonder if this was their reason for giving this discount to ALL AP holders  :earboy2:

Oh, and to the person that mentioned it was good on drinks - THANKS!!! I am always forgetting to ask about AP discounts and I have learned my lesson many times over in the last few weeks with all the changes going on - ASK EVERYWHERE! you never know.

:smooth: Disney Rocks! (come on Feb...I need my Disney fix!!!)

We were planning to wait to buy our AP, now I am thinking we need to get them ahead of time, and order our dining card. We are going with non DVC members in March, but we were considering the 35 a day thing, but didn't think we could get it. This would help.

It looks like if you spend more then 250 on food that would pay for itself. I am guessing we can use if for our friends meals, (their will be 8 of us total 6 adults and two 4 year olds.) I wonder if we can use it, but they pay the bill. (all of us eating together).

I would also like to know more details about this, where to call, if we can do it one line and how having a voucher works. Is there a number on the back you use when you call.

Gee ... how often do you pay $250 at Disney restaurants? For us, we're usually there by day 3 :earboy2:. This is a wonderful perk! I am so very happy I could :jumping1:!

DDE previously (a few years ago) would do temp cards you could pick up at the Guest relations office at DD, they stopped this about 98 or 99 I believe. They usually come faster than 6-8 weeks though.

FL residents have reported that all the meals have to be on one check, so you'll need to divide the bill up yourselves. But, it is good for up to 10 people.

OK, this sounds great. I think we'll get three trips off this. But, I would need to order ASAP.

I need some help!

First, if my AP expires in June 2005, I can still use it next January 2006 w/o an AP? If not, what if I buy another AP? Could I still use it for our third trip that month?

Two, I'm correct in that if I need it for an early February trip they can send me a letter instead to use since the cards might not be here yet?

Three, I already have PSs for February. Will I need to call for all of them and add that I have a DDE card or do I just show up at my PSs and then show the card?

Four, I just booked CRT this morning for April and paid a deposit. What would I do in that instance?

AND LAST! What about the meal plan? Is it still rumored to be something that might happen for DVC members? Which would be the better deal?

Any thoughts if any of the DVC discounts would go up to 20%, too???

THANKS!

It is so exciting to hear that Disney is so obviously rewarding many of their loyal fans. The DVC discount on AP and PAP's and now a reward for every person who purchases an AP to qualify for DDE :cool1: :flower1: :wizard: :rockband:

Lisa :flower:

I wonder if DVC will add a member perk to buy a discounted DDE card, too??? How often are the member perks revamped?

Since we don't plan to buy our APs until we get to WDW so we can get our DVC discount, is there anyway to order the DDE card ahead of time or do we need to wait until after our next trip when we have APs in hand? I have the number off our passes that just expired but doubt that will work.

Thanks!
PJ

DDE Members also get free valet parking when thety dine at a resort.

Also note the Big River Grill on the boardwalk doesnt give the DDE discount..

Poohj80,

We purhased our PAP's online thru the DVCMember website and was able to get our discount, they send a certificate that you redeem when you get there.

Also when I orderd my Dinning card they just asked if I had one, you do not have to supply any numbers.

We're in the same situation. Is there any place you can buy AP vouchers in advance where you can use a DVC discount? If not, all we can do is buy the AP's on our next trip (Dec 05) and the DDE card for the trip after that (Dec 06!).

In the same boat. We really want to wait to get AP since we want to use Disney Visa points to do so. I guess I will try calling to see if I can get the DDE before we get the APs.

Kinda wondering if they might change the dinning package option, but since we are DVC and AP I am thinking my chances are slim.

I thought I had read that some folks were having problems purchasing APs through the DVC website. This sounds like the way to go for us!

We had planned to do this as well, but figured that whether we use the Disney Visa rewards to pay for our passes or for what we spend while at WDW, it's still going to the same trip.
