Okay, so my DDE charge just showed on my cc today (I ordered it the second week of Feb I think). From your expierience how long does it now take to get the card. I leave in 22 days and didn't get the email confirmation. Do you think I'll be okay, or should I call and ask for the email to be sent to me?

Shelly

I ordered my card around the same time that you did. I haven't gotten the card yet but I received the email confirmation that very same day. You might want to call them to check on this.

Not to sound like a total newbie here, but could y'all explain the DDE card to me? Is it something I should be looking into?

Torianne,

If you are a florida resident or an annual passholder you are able to purchase a Disney Dining Expirience Card which saves you 20% on meals at most WDW sitdown resturants and some counter service resturants. Florida residents pay $75.00 per year and AP holders pay $50.00. There are few more perks like free valet parking at resorts while you are eating and half price admission to Pleasure Island. I think it will save us some money on our next trip. We were eligible because we are AP holders.

My card was charged on 2/24 and I received my card on Monday, 3/14. So, it took almost three weeks from being charged to receiving my card. If you don't receive it, you can still call DDE and have them e-mail you a letter to use if it doesn't come in time.

Definitely call, get the email, and then use the print out in case the card doesn't arrive in time. My husband and daughter used it in Feb. and it saved us a lot of money.

Thanks for the info Shelly. We are still debating whether or not to buy AP's. Trying to tie DH down to that is like trying to wrestle an eel slathered in vaseline :earseek: This will be our first trip to DW in June, so he's kind of wary about spending the extra $$ for the AP's...not sure whether we'll like WDW enough to go back for seconds :rolleyes2:

Now ME...I'm already eyeing DVC points for rent in November and those AP's would come in awful handy...and...well that DDE card sounds like it could save us some money in the long run...now if I can just get DH to see it my way!! :goodvibes:

Ordered the end of Jan, charged on 3/1, arrived on 3/14

Does the DDE card become active when you receive an e-mail confirmation, when your credit card is charged, or when you receive the DDE card in the mail?
We're heading down in the beginning of June and want to know the best time to order the card since I will also be going down in May of 2006, and I understand the card is only valid for one year. I want to be able to use it both times. :earsboy:

I ordered mine on March 10th. I received my fax a few hours later. It has March 10th at the top and states that it is a validation that I am a member and my privileges expire April 30, 2006. My card has not been charged yet.

HTH :flower:
