DDE Black Out Dates

I have seen that you cannot use the DDE card on major holidays, including Mother's Day, Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years' Eve, and New Years' Day. Anyone know if there are other dates or restrictions? We always go during the busiest times of year, including Spring Break and New Years. I can see that I will have to count on not being able to use it on Easter and NY eve and day, but I would not be happy if they restricted other days during those time periods. Can anyone advise?

::MickeyMo I believe it's only those specified days. Also, you are not able to use it in conjunction with the Fantasmic Dinner Package. ::MinnieMo

I'm sorry to hear they have black out dates as a few years ago when it was only opened to Florida residents they didn't have any blackout dates.

I don't know about understandable... just a little greedy. It's not like using the card on a holiday makes things any more busy or crowded. Obviously, they reason they have the plan is to encourage folks to fill up the table service restaurants, and since no encouragement is needed on holidays, they take away the benefit.

Yeah, I was not happy about that either, and expressed my opinion to a few Disney areas. We used DDE on every major holiday last year.
DDE responded that SOME restaurants will honor the card on DDE discount in holidays. They suggested calling the restaurant direct.
I rarely pay full price on any meal. Otherwise I eat elsewhere or stay home. Which I am sure we will do. That will save me a bundle anyway at a place I can eat almost anytime.

::MickeyMo Understandable was the wrong word...how about expected? There are black out dates for everything...airfare, entertainment books, etc. I dont' know...it just didn't surprise me. ::MinnieMo

I would agree that I am not shocked to find out the program has black-out dates. I just wish they would be a bit more generous when it is a program you are paying to join.

DDE participants are not being singled out. CMs also do not get a discount on these same blackout dates. So the bottom line is, no discounts whatsoever on these dates. I do agree that some places do still give the discount on these blackout dates. I remember some resort food courts giving us a discount on Mother's Day last year.
