I plan on getting the DDE as an AP holder before my next trip (June), but want to book a FDP now. I know they charge right away for this PS, but will they credit me back the 20% discount that you get with the DDE. Or, should I just bite the bullet and go get the AP and DDE card now, and then make the ressie??

I have read other posters say you cannot get the FDP with the DDE. You can eat at the restaurants for the 20% discount, but it would not be part of the package with the fantasmic seating tickets. A few got it in january, but I have read all posters say the cm told them they could not use it for that when they booked their ps. You might want to verify this.

Can someone tell me what DDE and FDP are? I've looked on the abbreviations list and they are not there. Thanks!

DDE=Disney Dining Experience discount card you must buy if you have AP or Florida resident. Gives you 20% off restaurants

FDP=Fantasmic Dinner Package gives you guaranteed seats to the show if you eat at one of 3 MGM restaurants.

Disney Dining Experience and Fantasmic Dinner Package

You need to go in expecting not to get the discount but I'd try to use it when you get there. The discount was previously available when DDE was open just to FL residents. I wouldn't bother calling them and having them firm up that the discount is no longer available, just hope you get lucky in this murky water.

Officially there are no discounts for the Fantasmic diner package or the Candlelight package at EPCOT. However, a few servers have taken it. I'm sure the OP would have found out as soon as they called the dining number and asked about the discount.

Thanks for the info. Another question....my dd (who will be 6) will be the AP holder (we're upgrading her MYW tix to AP to get the AP resort rate). If we also bought the DDE, would only she get the 20% off meals, or would it be for anyone at the table? Thanks!

It's for the card holder and up to 6 guests. However, you get 2 cards per household, and the other person does not have to be an AP Holder. Doesn't really make sense but ::shrug:: oh well.

The DDE cardholder must be 21 years of age. If you buy the child's AP you can not get the DDE card.

With the 2nd DDE card, do they put a name on it or do they just put your name on both cards?

TIA

It's a second name, which works well. My second card holder has a different last name. Looks like a credit card.
