Thanks! The kids learned quickly to keep the card on red until they saw the steak being carried around
I meant more of the stuff in the middle(rabbit food, bread, cheese, etc.), but you make a valid point also. One of my favorites is the bacon wrapped chicken, because....bacon! Also, some of the steak is amazing and some is meh. Have to remember which ones to ask for more of.

Hello All,

Is this week over yet?

Half of my small staff is out this week. My accounting clerk is still out sick, my customer service rep is in England visiting family, my shipping clerk called out sick today and tomorrow, and my order entry clerk is working remotely with a broken heel. Other staff has previously scheduled appointments. Suffice to say, I'm running around like the proverbial chicken and Friday can't get here soon enough.

There's been a HUUUGE fiasco at The Kid's school. They had an assembly last week in which people anonymously gave stories of trials in their lives. While the intent may have been good, the execution wasn't. Parents weren't given any details before hand and long story short, many kids in the school were traumatized. Hundreds of kids walked out of school yesterday and today in protest. On top of that, it made the local news and parents from inside and outside the district protested outside the school yesterday. There have been demands for everyone involved to be fired. Additionally, there was another group of people trying to storm the schools not wearing masks in order to protest the statewide mask mandates. Yesterday, the school went into lockdown in order to keep the crowds of people trying to storm the building out. Counselors have been called in, announcements have been made, and investigations have begun.

Other than being anxious about the lockdown disruption, The Kid is ok. She didn't pay much attention to the assembly anyway (she would rather read) and has worked hard to overcome many of her own trials in life. We did keep her out of school today just to avoid the chaos happening on campus.

On a lighter note, I had a dental cleaning yesterday that went well, other than the fact that my dentist wants me to consult with an orthodontist because some of my teeth grind when I chew. I had braces as a teen and my teeth haven't shifted but my dentist wants to keep my teeth from chipping more. Just what I want to have at 41 years old - braces.

Morning, gents...

Is this week over yet?
It never ends. Monday was early December and I'm still waiting for the weekend to show up.

Holy crap. Just a tad busy.

This just ticks me off. 😠
Sure... you're not happy about wearing a mask. So what should you do about it? Terrorize school kids. Makes perfect sense.
Whether you're pro-mask or anti-mask or somewhere in between... this is not how to go about voicing your concerns.

Morning All. Finally stopped snowing yesterday, today it's supposed to rain. Interesting weather.

2 more days of isolation and things will return to normal. I guess that means Declan won't be volunteering to snowblow the driveway anymore. I got two days in a row so it was a good run.

Have a great Olympic Thursday All.

That's crazy. Even the braces ;)

Yeah, we worked hard not to waste time on rabbit food and bread. Although some of it was tasty.

I thought the ribeye would be our favorite, but it turned out to be the top sirloin. They had some kind of marinade on it that was really good.

Oh man. Sounds like a disaster. Hope things calm down quickly.

Volunteer? Impressive. My kids always want to be paid.

I had to take the attitude that whatever gets done is what gets done. Thankfully, all my customers have understood about the delays.

This just ticks me off. 😠

I agree completely. And it's not like the local school district has any say about the mask mandates, they just have to follow the rules put in place by the state. Our school board voted at the beginning of the school year to have the minimum requirement imposed by the state. That's really all they can do.

That's crazy. Even the braces ;)
If I go that route, it will be invisible braces or clear aligners. I am NOT going to have a mouth full of aluminum at my age.

Oh man. Sounds like a disaster. Hope things calm down quickly.
It's getting better. Around here, any reason is a good reason to protest. There are still fences around stores and plywood in the windows from the protests and riots of 2020.

Happy....

oh, Lord...

Actually... I'm too burned out and took a sick day. Still going in to work tonight, though.

After this crazy week, I worked from home for a little bit this morning and took the afternoon to myself. I got a delicious Reuben sandwich from a local food cart and sat by the river for a while just watching the world go by. It was the perfect way to enjoy a day.20220211_143513.jpg

Evening, Gents! Went to post a response yesterday but my computer froze, and remained frozen, for over 10 minutes while I made breakfast, so after that 10 mins I had to do a hard shutdown. I turned the computer back on but it took too long to turn on, so I wound up shutting it down once it turned on and left for work. To be safe, when I got home last night after work, I turned on the computer and did a full back-up of my computer to my external hard drive....just in case.

Had a great day yesterday. It started off when I got to meet my favorite author, Bernard Cornwell. He lives here on the Cape, but further down Cape so never a chance to really meet him. I started the day as I usually do and stopped at a Dunkin' Donuts to get my morning tea. People are coming and going and someone comes in the door and stands behind me. I do a quick turn and there he was. I instantly recognized him and introduced myself, hoping I wasn't being a complete nerd. Told him I love his writing, especially the Sharpe Series. That's when he told me that he was writing another Sharpe book, I almost lost it at that point, but held it in. I have to admit that when I got to my car I had to take a moment to compose myself before I drove off. I've met other celebrities and have not had this kind of reaction. And before anyone asked, no I didn't get an autograph or a picture. I should have, but that's not my style. I regret it now, but man that was an awesome moment. I ended the week at Cardiovascular and it was great day, one of the best days I've had there in fact. There was just the right amount of patients and everyone there was in a good mood, which always makes for a great work environment. Well, there was that one doctor, but he's always grumpy.

Today's been great. Had some serious snuggle time with the DD this morning before taking her to piano lessons. After her lesson, we went to the mall to hit the book store, thankfully she loves books, had lunch and then home for a nap, for me, and play time for the DD. I think we're going to do movie night, but not sure what movie. The Mrs. suggested Sneakers by Robert Redford, so I guess we're going to be watching Sneakers.

Have a good evening, Gents!

Morning, gents.
I'm really starting to hate these early mornings...
When does retirement start again????

And I'm loving our weather... not.
It went from -30C/-22F to +2C/35F over the course of 2 days... then rained... now it's going back down to -30C/-22F again by Friday...
Had to shovel a skiff of snow (overnight) off the driveway and almost wiped out 3 separate times from the ice covering it.

Good times.

That's like a heat wave. Head out in shorts and a t-shirt kind of weather. Several years ago, right before I got married, and still living near Boston, we had a January that was below 0 for most of the month, and I'm talking -15 for most of the month. When it finally reached 32 degrees everyone was out in shorts and short sleeves. It felt great.

Turns out it was a broken tooth. Fixed now, though.

Ouch! Glad it's fixed.

I just hate the ending. Horrible.

That is a weird ending, isn't it?

What he said. Actually, I think Crystal Skull is ok up till about the point where they board the plane to go to South America, and then the movie just goes off the rails from there.

Yeah, I have to agree.

I meant more of the stuff in the middle(rabbit food, bread, cheese, etc.), but you make a valid point also. One of my favorites is the bacon wrapped chicken, because....bacon! Also, some of the steak is amazing and some is meh. Have to remember which ones to ask for more of.

Of course. Mmmm bacon!

Wow! What a week. May next week be better.

That's just wrong.

That's good that she's ok. And good thinking on keeping her out of school the next day.

My wife uses Invisalign and likes it.

At some point that's all you can do.
