DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
On that note, I'm going to need some prayers/good thoughts/pixie dust sent my way, more towards my dad's way. I got a call last night from my sister-in-law saying that my dad had a stroke, possibly two, one while he was in the hospital.
Hope everything works out okay.
Happy Canada day to my commonwealth brothers

Happy Friday Eve Dads! Happy Canada Day to Dads from the north - Hope the way the Habs have played so far doesn't dampen the spirits up there too much.

That's it, I'm calling it.

Last one to Hurricane Hanna's for a category 5 has to go home with Ariel and let me tell ya....when she says she wants more of your thing-a-ma-bob, she's not talking about a CORKscrew.

Happy Friday. Got full asking price on the house, a contingent cash offer on a grandmother selling her house. I'm working this weekend so i get to hear alcohol and fireworks stories. Detonate explosives and make America great again.

Y'all can have your presentation.

Interesting you chose the word "defect" in July 4 week.
I'll send you over a Red coat.

If that's what it takes to get to Wimbledon, then it's worth it. Sleepy Joe threatened us with nukes and F15s, so a return to British rule might not be so bad.

They didn't have beer? ;)

You ain't living until you've had draft PBR. The redneck blue ribbon of beers. :lmao:

Alrighty boys; punching out of work early and about to hit the road for the coast. Don't take it personal but I'm not checking my phone till I get home Monday evening. So till then enjoy.

Have a safe trip and enjoy

Like you ever read any posts anyway. :lmao: Have fun at the coast.

Well, Gents, we made it to Thursday. As loved as Thursdays are, it doesn't have the love that Fridays do. That said, let's show it some love and have a good day, ok? On that note, I'm going to need some prayers/good thoughts/pixie dust sent my way, more towards my dad's way. I got a call last night from my sister-in-law saying that my dad had a stroke, possibly two, one while he was in the hospital. They're minor ones as he was able to call my brother and talk to him about what was going on, but he was sent from my hometown to a hospital in El Paso for testing and surgery. All's well right now, and I hope it stays that way, but this really hammed home the idea, thought(?), reality, really, that my parents are getting older. You don't think about this stuff until, well, something like this happens. Yes, you do see your parents aging, but an event like this really brings you back to reality that your parents aren't ageless.

On another note, we're due to get some rain today. According to the weather, some towns (not sure if mine is included in this or not, because he didn't say) are supposed to get a months worth of rain in two days. That's a lot of rain. Glad I'm working from home today. That's all I've got. Thanks guys.

TTFN

Prayers for your dad and your family. Glad to hear they were minor. Encourage him to do the rehab, IP or OP. It is worth it.

Cool deal. Congrats!!!

Considering the last thing a redneck says before getting injured or dying is "hold my beer"

DUH!

Guess I might just hafta keep on not living.

Huh? Did you say sumthin?

Morning boys from a creaky London. i had one of those days where I looked a small job, in this case a fence panel and thought, "I need to adjust that". That turned into amending 5 fence panels to shroud the BBQ and deck area, built the Lady K a new raised flower bed out of sleepers, a home for the hammock and painted all the fence posts and the concrete bases. Finished about 8 PM last night. It was like Taz with a drill and a paintbrush.

Just been to the butchers, so Ribeye for dinner, and then drinking for the England game.

Dogs and Burgers tomorrow, as Lady K put off some company tonight, as this week I received the feedback from the family that I am not the greatest person to hang out with during football matches. Apparently telling people to shush in post match interviews (happened on Tuesday with guests) or complete blanking for 45 minutes (happens every game) is not acceptable behaviour. I can't understand it, I think I'm lovely. If you are round to "watch the football" though, "watch the bloody football". Clue's in the title. If you had said to me, "can I come round to talk over the football", I would have politely declined.

I'm just working out the owed tax and damages for the tea from 1776, as we don't seem to have received the check from last year that the Chief promised. As its a pandemic year, we have generously waived the admin fees and are only charging you a measly 2% on top of what you already owe. I'll let you know the figures tomorrow.

Nice one! Beers on Norm! I only drink premium brands when someone else is paying, just to put a marker out there.

Sleepy Joe threatened us with nukes and F15s, so a return to British rule might not be so bad.
BoJo? Really?
Each to his own.

It still does make me laugh though how much reverence the Queen gets. If you look at the G7 summit when they were over here, all the world leaders were lining up to shake hands with her like it was a character meet for naked Tiana. They were absolutely falling over themselves to meet a doddery 100 year old half German. And these people run some of the biggest economies in the world. Merkel was the same yesterday. Although they are probably related, and were consoling each other about Tuesdays loss.

Anyways, enjoy your Treason Weekend, and enough of my random musings. I'm either gonna be very chirpy or borderline hooligan at around 10pm london time.

COME ON YOU LIONS!!

(come on you Habs, with a lot less confidence)

Morning, boys.
One hour to go, then a quick (30 minute) ride home and then lights out for me.

Stop making the rest of us look bad!

I completely get this. Ages ago, a friend and I hosted a Superbowl party. Girls just wanted to yack. Luckily it was a blowout by half, so it didn't matter too much.

Second the motion!

yeah.... :sad2:

Mornin', Gents! Sorry I didn't post yesterday, but got shifted around and wound up going to a primary care office, so no chance to post. Good day yesterday overall. Only had 12 patients yesterday, and everyone was done by 3pm, which honestly worked for me. I wound up having to cancel and reschedule all the appointments for the lab for Tuesday, so not having patients or anyone in the office the rest of the day really helped a lot. And a Happy Belated Canada Day to those up north.

Update on dad below 👇

Prayers for your father and family CCT.

:thumbsup2 Thanks

Hope your father is OK CCT and try to stay dry, maybe keep a row boat tied up to the back door.

:thumbsup2 Thanks

And so far don't need the boat, but that could change, so we're at a wait and see.

Hope everything works out okay.

:thumbsup2Thanks

May he recover and do so quickly, and may his doctors be at their best.

:thumbsup2Thanks

Ok, so dad was moved to El Paso, TX where he currently is. He had a brain hemorrhage, so a hemorrhagic stroke. BUT, it was caused by, they are almost 100% certain on this, medication he is taking for his arrhythmia. Since the doctors took him off of everything when he entered the hospital he's gotten a lot better, that's why they are certain it was caused by the medication. He's able to hold the phone, tv remote and other things. He's talking, and joking, he has a whole new audience for all of his jokes (God help those poor hospital workers :teeth: ), so that's all a good sign. My brother says that unless you know what you are looking for you really can't tell he has any kind of drooping on the right side of his face. As my brother put it, "It looks like a normal old person's face." So things are going really well. Thanks for all the prayers, good thoughts, vibes and pixie dust, it really helped. The hospital wants to keep him through the weekend and will most likely head home on Monday. Thanks again.

Good for y'all, and honestly, I'm not surprised.
You probably could have asked for more in this market.

Well if it's just the tea that you're figuring up, that took place a decent bit ahead of the whole written document thing so you'll need to add a couple more years of interest to you calculations.

This is good to hear.
May the updates continue to be even better then expected.
