DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Afternoon, Gents! Little late in posting this today, but I worked from home and allowed myself to sleep in until 5am, which meant I got lazy and just forgot to get on. I must be punished. I'll go sit in my chair and have a beer and think about what I did right after I finish posting this. Man, that'll be harsh punishment. Work wise, I got lucky this week and snagged 3 days of working from home, today and Thursday and Friday. And, with the long holiday weekend, in which we celebrate that treasonous split from the mother country, sorry Londontime, I'll essentially be home for 5 days straight. Ok yes, technically I'll be working 2 of those 5 days, but still, a really long weekend! :teeth::dancer::dancer: That's all I've got. Have a good day, guys.

I almost scared to ask about Tabasco........

Not a "sauce" or a "gravy", more like a condiment...yet it calls itself a sauce.
It's an absolute minefield.

I hate a show off. Pick one Tabasco! Sause or gravy! Not both. Sheesh.

It's called "The basement".

We have that, too, as well as what's left of our attic after we added a second floor. The problem is, we're running out of space because of all the stuff we have. Most of what's in the basement isn't mine, so I can't get rid of it. (heavy sigh) Some day. Though my DW is starting to warm up to the idea of getting a dumpster.

Unfortunately not. Apparently he'll just get a letter saying he has 14 days to put in an insurance claim. We'll see what happens after that.

Crazy.

The attic for us.

We have a small one, which was what's left after we added a second floor.

That's just a little splash of awesomeness, It can call itself what ever it wants. Saw a show on history channel forever ago in the factory where they make it. The air is so acidic from all the peppers and vinegar it literally eats the forklifts.... gotta be good for right?

Saw that same show. Very interesting.

Sometimes...
more than one.

We have more than one here and unfortunately they're all full. The product of a family not wanting to throw things out.

But you didn't say real maple syrup...for me that's what deserves the is there any other kind question. That carp they sell in the store they call maple syrup is flavored corn syrup. :yuck:

Mmmm real maple syrup. Nothing better.

It's a good I've just had dinner or I'd be upset at seeing this. This does look good.

Y'all can have your presentation.
I'll opt for taste any day!!!

Taste all day long for me.

That's basically how I responded. If she wanted me full time, then I needed off for tennis. Or, she could wait to next year. Or, she could pick me up PRN.

Good for you. Hope you get what you want.

Pretty sure Dan will be OK with you rooting for Germany though.
I need to just find out who Dan is rooting for and immediately concede defeat. It would save time.

Don't forget the 30 lashes with a wet noodle.

Mornin', Gents! Was hot one yesterday, don't know the actual temp, but I think it was around 90F, and supposed to be another hot one today. I just hope the A/C in the office I'll be in today works. Well, that's it. Have a good day.

That's right! I'd forgotten about that. I'll add that. Thanks.

Top O the Mornin Dads! 3 more sleeps til DaWorld, that one's for you Darcy :rotfl2: Looking forward as we will have all 3 kids with us  Congrats to England Dan, sorry about the Habs Darcy & Dan but looking for a better game tonight. Other than that looks like all are doing pretty well except for those maybe being impacted by all this crazy heat - everybody stay safe out there.

Apologies to Dan, but I'm rooting for Germany on this one.
Are you contributing to their bus fare home? I believe there's a collection going round.

Enjoy my friend, are we counting this as the nippers first trip? My 1st Visit badge on DD's bump?

You can hold a few of them for yourself there, fella, supporting ze Germans. Good luck with the Ukraine in the next round, though.
And, with the long holiday weekend, in which we celebrate that treasonous split from the mother country, sorry Londontime,
Don't worry mate, 65 other countries celebrate independence from us, so you're just another brick in the wall. At least a jaunty little musical came of it, about the setting up of the US banking system, or something.

They can walk.

Nope. Cheering for England now. Well... also the Swiss as an underdog.
Kinda like... the Jets got beat, now cheering for Montreal.

Same reasoning I guess. My team lost, so cheering for the "home" (Canadian) team.
My team lost, so now cheering for the "home" (Mother Country... kind of) team.

This just looks so wrong. :teeth:

Off the top of my head there's "1776," a great musical, and then the current biggie, "Hamilton," which I have yet to see, or really listen to.

Well, Gents, we made it to Thursday. As loved as Thursdays are, it doesn't have the love that Fridays do. That said, let's show it some love and have a good day, ok? On that note, I'm going to need some prayers/good thoughts/pixie dust sent my way, more towards my dad's way. I got a call last night from my sister-in-law saying that my dad had a stroke, possibly two, one while he was in the hospital. They're minor ones as he was able to call my brother and talk to him about what was going on, but he was sent from my hometown to a hospital in El Paso for testing and surgery. All's well right now, and I hope it stays that way, but this really hammed home the idea, thought(?), reality, really, that my parents are getting older. You don't think about this stuff until, well, something like this happens. Yes, you do see your parents aging, but an event like this really brings you back to reality that your parents aren't ageless.

On another note, we're due to get some rain today. According to the weather, some towns (not sure if mine is included in this or not, because he didn't say) are supposed to get a months worth of rain in two days. That's a lot of rain. Glad I'm working from home today. That's all I've got. Thanks guys.

Morning All.

Just watching some Wimbledon on a cloudy Canada Day morning. Pretty low key holiday this year as we reflect on the impact of the terrible findings from the residential school system that operated in Canada for about 100 years. Many places have opted to forego the bigger community celebrations out of respect for the Indigenous communities across the country.

Hope you all have a great Thursday as you head into your long weekend.
