And, the 159th Groundhog Day, or something like that. Feels like time is moving even slower. 7 more days of work to retirement and 4 more days to a job offer seem like an eternity. I never have been good with waiting.
7 more days to retirement? Wow, you must feel both excited and scared at the same time. Can't imagine what that would feel like.
Sounds like you are starting things out right. Learn it the way they want it done, so you don't have to redo a second time.
I'm trying to start things off right. When I don't have work to do, which is a good chunk of time right now, the last paralegal got them caught up on work for several weeks out, I spend most of my time reading files, taking notes and learning from them. I found a treasure trove of checklists in a folder on the server, so I spent some time saving them to my personal folder on the server and altering them to suit my needs. You know, making extra spaces for notes, so whenever I open a new file, in goes a checklist.
And it feels great to have options, but I really can't decide what to do. I'll make more $ at the factory. My neighbor works there and gets all the OT he wants. While I won't have to do much planning or thinking, I'll have no control of my schedule, less vacation time, and be at the bottom for seniority. At the Church job, I get a lot of control over my schedule, lots of leave time, but I have to think, plan, coordinate, and schedule things a year out, and be willing to change those plans based on the immediate need.
That's hardest part is trying to decide what to do. When I was offered the position at the post office, I thought long and hard on that one and ultimately had to make a choice based on a list of pros and cons. It's a tough decision, my friend, and if you want to vent it here on the boards, we're here for you as a sounding board.
Morning folks.
Today is a Monday for me as I'm back to work today. But not til 3pm... so does that mean my Monday is actually Monday afternoon?
Nah, I'd still call that a Monday.
Old people don't take kindly to change.
No they don't. hahaha
Ah! So... a lawyer.
More like a wanna be lawyer. She made decisions that were supposed to be the attorneys to make, but she did it anyways.
I don't have friends, so it works out well for me.
Oh, I'm sure you have one or two...I count you as a friend, well, not a hangout type friend, that's a distance related thing, but a friend.
I call that a win
You're right, that is a win. I may have missed my movie watching time, but it's still a win.
Yeah...unless you're watching here Saturday night, it's easy to miss. Also too late for some of us.![]()
Yep, generally too late for me, unless I get on for a half hour.
Actually, it's fine. I just have to get up early for work and then church Sunday morning, so I'm not a night owl.
Let me know when y'all would like to do a 5am call...
Not a night owl either, so if ever you wanted to meet up at 5 am, I'm game...I'm up at that time also.
Morning guys from a overcast London, where we have had a months worth of rain in 2 days. Wheels down as I go on a staycation in Cornwall from Thursday for a week or so, so everyone wants a piece of Danny right now. The Lady Ks Grandma is unfortunately on her way out, so here's hoping for a painless passing. She's 95 so she's had a good ol' innings, and the Lady K and her have never been close, so it is what it is.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Lady K and the rest of the family.
Or in Lawyer speak, 6 hours of billings.
Pretty much.
I tried to jump on at around 0630 my time, but it had wrapped up. 0130 starts are a bit of a challenge for those of us on the other East Coast.
Well, if ever you're online on a weekend and want to chat, say early morning for me, about 5 hours behind, I'd be more than happy to jump on and chat, or the other way around if the DW doesn't have me doing something.
Top O the Mornin Dads! Monday, ugh. Got DS moved into his off campus ( literally 2 minute walk and on campus) studio apartment and got all his tech and some small organizational type furniture set-up. You can tell he was ready to get out on his own for his final year of school after being at home since mid-March. I know I've stated this elsewhere but I really do feel bad for these kids as the college experience and Sr years of High School are just not what they should be. Let's have a good week and stay safe out there.
How exciting for your DS, he's gotta be excited.
