No more waiting! I got the job! So happy I can't even tell ya. After all that's happened over the last year and a half I needed this.

There are unconfirmed reports of a new murder hornet sharknado approaching WDW. We plan to fly right thru it.

I'm just going to come out and say it: I GOT THE JOB!!!!! (doing the happy dance, well, kind of...don't want to throw out a knee) I got the call yesterday afternoon right about break time, and I couldn't be happier. By the time I got around to telling my supervisor it was late in the afternoon, so I haven't told HR yet, but that'll be first thing this morning. (heavy sigh) I feel great! In fact, last night was the best sleep I've had in a long time. Heading in early today so I can train the guys on how I do my job, so...have a good day, gents.

It is the worst, but I'm happy to announce that, I GOT THE JOB!!!! I was beginning to think if they were checking with the other person before getting to me. I don't know, but in the end I go the job. So happy.

Just to be clear, did you get the new job? :lmao:

Congratulations!!!

Second beautiful sunny day of my week off.
Second breakfast on the patio.
DW is off today as well. Planning on going out to a proper sit down restaurant for lunch for the first time in I can’t recall how many months.

Ever since the Lord of the Ring movies and the 2nd breakfast, I'll ask when we became hobbits. I still eat though.

Congratulations on getting the job.

Thanks, man!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
:woohoo:

Thanks.

I make the reservation in their name and do the DME (If needed) reservation. Once booked, I give you the reservation number, which you put into MDE and everything else is still done by you.

Ok now I get it. That's cool...and something to think about.

Thanks

My city (which most of you would probably consider a big town) has turned one of the downtown streets into a pedestrian mall for the summer to boost restaurant/ shop income after the shut down. I haven’t had a chance to enjoy it yet, so looking forward to it.

Having breakfast on the patio sounds nice.

And good move on the part of the town for shutting down one street. Hopefully that'll help those businesses on that street.

Well, isn’t there always one of those?
I did spend a fair bit of time enjoying the patio, but I managed to do a small paint touch up job on the front step and mow the lawn.
Not a bad day overall.

I have one of those lists...can't seem to remember where I put it, though. :rolleyes1:teeth:

Great news, congrats!

Thanks

Top O the Mornin Dads and Happy Friday Eve! Ain't got much other than keeping an eye on the goings on at DaWorld as we are under a week til we are scheduled to head out so only 4 more working days counting today. Looks like 6 or more DisDads will be in MK next Thursday 8-)

Stay safe out there guys!

TTFN

Isn't that always the case?

Yeah all this testing equipment came out pretty quickly, so I'm sure some of these tests aren't exact, and therefore, give out some false positives. But that's just my thinking.

It is the worst, but I'm happy to announce that, I GOT THE JOB!!!! I was beginning to think if they were checking with the other person before getting to me. I don't know, but in the end I go the job. So happy.

I'm with ya on the inconsistencies.

I've looked into renting DVC points before and it sounds interesting. I would never rent from a broker, don't know them. The only place I'd rent from, if a broker, would be through Disney directly (if they did that) and one of you guys.

If her employer is cool with her coming in if she feels ok and not showing any signs, then that's cool.

That's cool. When someone rents from you, do they get to set up all the fast passes and dinning reservations, or do you do it as the owner of the points?

Makes sense. That also makes me feel good that there are so many young kids who want to go into the military to serve their country, even if it's just for a job and college education.

Sorry to hear that, man, that would have been a wonderful trip. Next year, right?

No more waiting! I got the job! So happy I can't even tell ya. After all that's happened over the last year and a half I needed this.

We do all make mistakes, and I sometimes think that Bill, the guy I work with, forgets that. If I make the same mistake over and over again, I really get T'd off at myself. I hate making mistakes to begin with, but repeated mistakes I really loath.

Running a marathon in a mask would suck. I'm not looking forward to going back to the gym because of the mask thing.

🤣

And doing a conference call from home means you can be in your underwear! 😁:cool1:

I grew up in southern New Mexico where the temps can get over 100 degrees easy. It's the humidity that kills me. I've gotten use to it being here in New England now for over 20 years, but there are days it still gets to me.
Congratulations!

Thanks!

I feel like I get 2nd breakfast every day because of our 10 o'clock break...gonna have to get use to not having that break. I'll manage. (heavy sigh) 😆

Hay y'all...
Quite morning down this way. The heat broke a mite, which is good as our A/C is still on the picket line. Can't seem to get either the warranty folks of their chosen contractor to call me back either so its back to fans and open windows for the time being.

I'm just going to come out and say it: I GOT THE JOB!!!!! (doing the happy dance, well, kind of...don't want to throw out a knee)

You go on and dance.

Just close the door so no one can see ya' and to lower the DBs in the rest of the clubhouse when that knee does go out.

Now that's a good idea.
I can think of some spots 'round here that could benefit from such.

I’m getting used to working from home. I’m thinking of making a more permanent set up to work from home long term (if I remain employed of course)
I'd like to make it permanent, but I don't see it happening long term.

Won't be making a major stink about it neither, as contrary to accepted wisdom, squeaky wheels tend to find themselves being removed rather then greased down here in these parts. Even if it means that you have to put the whole car up on blocks in the front yard. Historically "we've" never cared what the neighbors thought and "we're" more than happy to suffer ourselves just to remind the rabble that you ought not be questioning authority.

Well, then make sure to take your Miracle Pill before you go storming the castle. Oh, and have fun too.

Disney are hustling together a premium package with a dessert party so you can die in comfort.
Never one to miss an opportunity to either monetize a moment or add a premium on top of a fee, I can see where the Maniacal Mouse would likely already have such plans in the works.

Ain't got much other than keeping an eye on the goings on at DaWorld as we are under a week til we are scheduled to head out so only 4 more working days counting today.
More castle storming in the offing I see.
May you also get down there and have the time you your lives.

Break?
What is this break thing of which you speak?

Actually, 10 of the clock is when I normally eat my first breakfast (there ain't no second) For me it works to make the inerds chew on themselves for a while longer before I offer up any extra sustenance. Also makes it easier to stay in the ten-hour window I use for intake while fasting the remainder of each 24. Lost 50 pounds doing it and so far, I've been able to keep that extra third of a person off me for better than 18 months. There is the small matter of getting use to the notion that I can never stop doing it though, or all that mess will just build right back.

Sorry to hear it. If y'all go next year, you'll have to tell us about when. We've been considering doing the inside passage at some point and next summer might be a good time for it.

I'm also curious to see what y'all come up with for Plan-B

I may not do the cruise next year. It's expensive to have to get 2 rooms for my family.

The image that first smacked me in the head was something similar to the Stonehenge prop from the film "This is Spinaltap".

The notion of "mountains" that we "in danger of being trod upon", already has me snickering.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Whatever happens, I'll make sure it goes to 11.

Sounds like a good way to try and turn lemons into lemonade.

Way to be productive! You earned your beverage of choice.

Really sucks how everyone’s plans are going down the toilet this year.

Sportswriter Bill Simmons came up with the phrase "Tyson Zone", where a person or entity gets to a point, like Mike Tyson, where you would believe any story anyone made up about them.

I believe the U.S. has officially entered the Tyson Zone.

Disney are hustling together a premium package with a dessert party so you can die in comfort. Well, as much comfort as you can being eaten alive by murderous hornets.

Would anyone put this past them? They probably have a catchy Murder Hornet theme song already.

Ooo, I like this list, here's my 10...... (I'm basing it on US "celebrities"), not in order...

Odell Beckham Jr
Kanye
Alec Baldwin

Gwyneth Paltrow
The Commander in Chief
Roseanne Barr

David Blaine

Ouch! No AC down your way does not seem doable in my book. Thanks for the well wishes on the upcoming trip, gonna be a different experience for sure.

Sorry to hear about the AC. Blocks of ice in front of the fan works too. I almost forgot to pack my Miracle Pill, so thanks for that reminder.

When doing Keto, I could sometimes just eat once a day and be fine. With the vacation eating, I'm already hungry again.

Congrats! (I miss the old conga rats giph I had on photobucket at times like this)

DS got a job and ship date so we are just praying it doesn't get cancelled as has happened to too many recruits.

Evening All,

DW and I made it back from our vacation in Alma, NB. Declan and his GF stayed with us Sunday night and my in-laws last night. We had a very relaxing time with some nice hikes thrown in. Fundy National Park has some great trails if you are ever up his way. Nice little AirBnB as well with a fantastic view of the Bay. We wouldn't hesitate to go back again. Now we have just about 4 more weeks before another few days away, this time headed to PEI.

Read through the last few pages, pretty riveting stuff but that was to be expected.

Morning, fellas. If you hadn't heard, we finally pulled the plug on our Alaska trip yesterday. That hurt, not gonna lie. But today I feel like it was the right call. Currently trying to come up with a quick plan B for summer vacation.

I was sorry to read that Mark, covid sucks.

Looking forward to seeing it virtually through you guys.

Morning from a sunny Westfield NB. Another hot one here today going to be in the 32C range, with warnings of severe thunderstorms. Happy Friday

Morning from a sunny (for now) Orlando. Only getting up to 90 today before the rain is forecasted to come cool things down.

Last day of work before vacation next week. Heading to vero beach which is about 90 min away. Went there years ago with the kids and looking forward to sans kids this time. Sad we're going to be missing the other dads, but not like I would have been able to meet them in the park anyway...would have had to be at DTD or a resort.

Hey guys,

Working on summer vacation plan B. We are starting to look at colleges for my son, and one of the possibilities is the U. of Tennessee. So we're thinking of taking a road trip to wander the campus there and get a feel for it, and then get a cabin near the Smoky Mountains for the week. Feels like hanging out in a cabin with some nice scenery around is a more appropriate way to vacation in a pandemic. Hopefully we'll pull it off. Being an over-planner, doing stuff at the last minute like this makes me freak out a bit.
