Morning, Gents! Well, yesterday was one of those day where I was in snit for most of it. Oh I went in in a good mood, what set me off was Bill, the stockroom guy I work work with. Still no word from the law firm, but the email I got from the partner indicated that today was the deadline for them to make a decision. So at some point today I'll either really happy, or really sad. Either way I have a job, so I'm happy to be working. Well, gents, have a good day and we'll chat later.

And just when everything looks good, we get another kick in the @$$ from our Socialist Governor. He made a statement, and then changed a bit in writing, but "recommended" 14 day quarentine if you leave the state on vacation, but only certain states. And wouldn't you know, those are only Red states. Feel free to visit states where there were looting and riots, because the virus didn't spread there.
Now, I don't care. I'm retiring from one job and have plenty of sick days at the other. So, I see right thru this political divide. But, others are so afraid that "recommended" means it's the law. In the drama from the oldest daughter, she just started a new full time job. Is her new employer willing to give her a week vacation? Yes. Three weeks off? We'll find out today. Then, there is our youngest who starts early college program, during the 14 day quarentine, if he doesn't change it to online. DW not sure if she wants to go now. We could go and leave both dds here. And, the Governor's edict says that it safe for some family members to quarentine in the house while others live there. Give me a break.
Only red states, how interesting. I hate that there are some people that have politicized this. If we all had just stayed home, except for healthcare workers and grocery store workers, and we all wore masks, this thing would have been done in 2 months.
Nobody's perfect, but some of hold others to that standard, and worse yet, some of hold ourselves to that standard.
Nope, no one is, but I try to be, and can take screw ups on my part pretty hard. Oh well, live and learn
$900 is great. I'll gladly accept it.
Let me clarify. If it weren't for keto diet, then I would still eat Taco Bell. I may not like it as much as other Mexican restaurants, but I'm still fat and like junk food. I think Yum! Foods (Taco Bell, KFC, etc) is KY's biggest business.
Ah! Now I get it. Yeah, I'm fat, too, and like my junk food. I've been known to weasel out of lunch at the house if I know my errands will take me by a Wendy's or Taco Bell/KFC.
Yes, there is Boardwalk Inn and Boardwalk Villas. Most DVC resorts are divided similarly. The main difference is the Inn rooms are like hotels with two beds, maid service and villas like time share/ condo with a bed and sleeper couch. There are other differences in maid service, coffee pots, and resort amenities. Disney withholds some of the villas rooms, and you can book either thru Disney. If you are dvc or renting someone's points, then you rent a villa. At Vero Beach Resort, you can use your points for Inn or Villas room, but not at the other resorts at WDW.
We never stayed at POFQ, but we've traveled over to get beignets, although, that may have been Riverside. It's always great to be at Disney, and while we liked the Value Resorts in the beginning, it's nice not to have to ride a bus to all the parks. Yes, I'm a Disney snob.
I'd love to stay at the Boardwalk Inn at some point, but it might be out of my price range.
Just popped back in because I'm in a snit and figured you all could deal with the grumbling. As Norm pointed out our governor made a new edict which throws my week in a mess. Thursday I have to take SWMBO into see some specialists in the big city. She won't drive there herself but I can't go in so will be spending the better part of the day hanging out in the parking garage.
Hope you brought a good book, and plenty of games on your smartphone.
Friday was supposed to be DS's graduation finally but that is most likely going to be cancelled. No job posting or ship date for the USAF yet but he is considering switching to quick ship. That means he would take whatever job comes open if someone can't fill their spot and would have between 24-48 hours to get ready and to the departure point. I can't say that is a bad idea either I just wish he was in better shape. Getting out of KY while he has the chance is probably the best he can hope for. No jobs here. DD's school start date has been pushed back two more weeks so if they start on time she will have been out of school for 5 months. (I don't consider what they do online schooling). Saturday is supposed to be a pig roast fundraiser for SWMBO's work (a non-profit dependent on public donations and such) and that probably won't be happening either so I have no idea what they are going to do with the pig or how they are going to get the funds needed to continue. Rant over.
Complain away, my friend, complain away. Sorry about your son doesn't have a ship date yet. Question: When I went in back way back in the late 80's, we had a ship date when I signed the contract. Is that not how it's done today, or this because of the COVID-19 thing?
At least I am still on the green side of the grass and employed. And tomorrow is hump day and you know what that means!
.....
absolutely nothing.
Yeah, we're on the downhill slide to the weekend.

Afternoon all from Merry Old England. It's all about the US today on my conference calls.
I love conference call.

We've never been there, we have made a pledge to rectify that next time we are all there. Maybe Easter 2021. Maybe August. It looks lovely.
I love this resort. It's the only resort I've stayed at, actually. Hmm. Love it.
Your intestines thank you.
Great way to clean things out!
No I'm paid a lump sum for each day.
But that's what signed up for. It's the oil field, 12 hour days are the norm.
Before I took this gig back in December, I was in management for a couple years. Oil field management means working 8-12 hour days, plus you are responsible for a 24/7 operation. Could mean a trip to the office at 2pm on a beautiful Saturday afternoon (done that), a "we have a problem phone call" just as you are walking to the bus stop at All Star Music resort (done that), or a Tuesday morning 3am wake up "it just hit the fan" phone call (done that). At least now I punch my 12 hours and switch off until the next shift starts.
For anybody outside this crazy industry, it probably sounds nuts.
For anybody in the industry, the fact that I'm doing shift work from home (and not on an oil rig) is actually pretty decent.
Ah, gotcha. Man, getting called at all times of the day, even on vacation, is not cool.
I stayed at PO Riverside but did a carriage ride around French Quarter. It looked really nice, very quiet and I like the smaller size. I would like to stay there one day.
It's the size and themeing I like most, well...mostly the size. I like being able to walk to the food court in 5 minutes, 10 tops if I walk slow enough.
Hay Y'all...
Hotter than 40 He!!s here, but that's fairly normal for the first Caesar's month. Back to work, but the folks out in Cali still have us working form home so that's not so bad either.
It's getting hot here, upper 80's really, but it's the humidity that gets to me.
We were supposed to have a couple new appliances delivered this afternoon, but I just got the word that our choices are considered to be special orders, and the manufacturer is focusing on just the best sellers right now considering the prevailing work place precautions and reduced staffing issues. Bottom line, we won't get 'em until the end of September. Maybe...
That's us. We ordered four new appliances, and got two, the fridge and over the range microwave. The dishwasher never showed up...as in, the truck never made it to the warehouse and the stove was on back order. We're supposed to be getting both of those at the end of the month. Mhmm We'll see about that.
and there are times when that can get to be pretty much a daily occurrence as well...
Just got'a fix it in the mix and move on.
Exactly.
Good news. Oldest dd's new employer won't require her to quarentine on the whims of the Governor, unless she actually has symptoms which of course is logical. It would only now impact my younger daughter who has early college orientation. But, I think we could get her tested and results back before orientation. And, I applied for a good paying factory job really close to my house as I saw it on Indeed yesterday. They called me today for a virtual interview Friday morning. Maybe I'm just to fill their old, fat guy interview quota, but it feels good to be wanted.

That's good that her employer won't require her to quarantine, though I can see where some employers would want to err on the side of caution.
Notice: If you're the Socialist Government reading this post, we are all staying home indefinitely, currently wearing masks and gloves. Nothing to see here. Move along.
I guess us Americans aren't use to get approval from to travel to another state. I can make it to the adjacent state of Indiana before I could make it to another city in KY.
No we're not. And I think a lot of people, who are complaining about those complaining about

needing permission to travel, don't understand that. They think, it's for the greater good. That may be true, but we're still not use to getting permission to travel, and at some point, we're going to get annoyed by it.
You never told me I'd have to learn a new song, but I'll do my best. Heck, if you're drunk enough, then I already know the words.
