DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
October is starting off right! Weather is awesome, my wife and I are 2 days away from booking our second week for our May 2020 WDW trip (just waiting for our DVC 7-month window), 6 days away from a conference with the wife coming with me (and my folks watching the boy for 4 days), and 28 days until we're on the plane for 9 nights at Aulani. I love this time of year!
Nice planning - will get tougher when the boy gets into school so enjoy while you can.
Well, I just found out that my temp job has just extended my contract for another 4 weeks! Since this week just began, I now have 5 weeks of work ahead of me. Doing the happy dance. :dancer::dancer:
Congrats and hoping it turns out to be something even more for you.
........police report they are looking for a santa lookalike with a bottle of kraken in his hand and a penguin under his arm looking for a “Friday night princess”......
I might know a guys like this :rolleyes1

Another one at sunset. Why don't I live here all year round? Because I'm an idiot.

We've been to WDW a fair amount. Not as many as some but not as few as others. We went a lot more before my kid came (odd, huh?)

Anyone else in a similar boat? I would probably relocate closer and do the AP thing so I could go whenever.

Oh well...

We've been to WDW close to 20 trips? I'll have to go count. If they don't want to go with me, they are out of the will.

Morning chaps from a slightly hungover London. Started at Noon yesterday in the pub with the UK Bears fans chapter, drank through 3 quarters of my team sucking and then 1 quarter of cheering. Then back to the pub and out at around 1130pm to get the train home. Many pints of Guiness perished for my enjoyment.

Good job on killing the beer. The bears might need a few.

Good stuff buddy, looks like you're having a blast.

Well that's very picturesque...

Great time. Great views of the ocean. Great amount of time people watching today as well. Surprised how some can't enjoy the ocean and must listen to music to drown out the waves.

Honestly I was being nice. The group they get isn't really isn't all that good, but I do love it when they sing "Ein prosit!" Ziggy, zaggy, ziggy, zaggy, oi, oi, oi! :teeth::teeth::teeth:🍻🍻

Ni!

Dibs on Castle Anthrax - for 5 minutes.

Top O the Mornin Dads and Welcome back Randall - still getting spammed by the boss man reacting to posts :-) How about the Disney Skyliner mess this weekend? I never thought those things were a good idea but what do I know, juts glad nobody was hurt.

Beautiful country for sure

Sounds like you're having a blast - enjoy!

Boy the Bears stunk up the joint yesterday - poor coaching and bad O line play. I say coaching cause why even risk running into the kicker and some other stupid penalties. Maybe get into London earlier than Friday too, the Raiders showed up on Monday. Sounds like you had a good time otherwise with the festivities - sounds like you got my message and had a few for mee.

Sorry about your Bears. And yes, we are having a great trip, thanks. I tried to talk DW into letting me buy a cigar and smoke on the beach or balcony. She said no.

I'm all caught up and... Prayers for those in need; Praise for those deserving; Disney, Dole Whips & Bacon for All!

Happy Belated Birthday Norm !!!!

Thanks Randall. And thanks for fighting crime batman and penguin.

Congrats.

24 trips. And, Dis moved my trip report thread again, and all my table of contents links are broken. Again. Ugh. But, I did update the link in my signature.

Morning chaps from an overcast London. Working from home. Today is 180 days until Cali, it feels weird not to be looking for restaurants.......not that we ever book 6 months out.

24 trips.
Well that's not too shabby my friend.
I think Doc might win this game though.

He’s in Kindergarten now, but the wife and I feel that at his age, he’ll probably learn more interacting with adults and characters while on vacation.
We remember those days when vacations and flights were out of school breaks. Happy times. Cheaper times.
Since this week just began, I now have 5 weeks of work ahead of me. Doing the happy dance.
Congrats mate, as Mikey said, good luck with it turning into something more permanent.

Have a great Tuesday guys
London out.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Some good baseball series going on. With all the talk about young kids and WDW trips and how hard it is to take them out of school, etc try this on for size, DS sent me a listing of the top 10 places to get Margaritas at DaWorld and to work some of them into our guys trip in March :rotfl:

Might have a possible man card issue here

Morning gents. Lots of chatter in here over the last few days. I spent the weekend de-summering the yard - took down the trampoline, put away lawn furniture, cut the grass (maybe last time for the year), put down Fall lawn fertilizer. All the fun stuff that tells me winter is on the way.

Heads up for any of you who visit Jeff and he suggests a visit to McDonalds for lunch.
Nothing wrong with some Newfie steak.

Seems legit. Is this because Newfoundland doesn't have a McDonalds? I'd put that as a reason to live there.
Sadly rotten Ron's is like a plague in nearly every corner of the globe.
Although full disclosure, I sometimes get a breakfast sandwich from there on the weekend.
I can't tell you the last time I had a burger there.

You can only book at 60 days over that side chief.

I have vices, they're just not smoking or drinking.

Now, with breaking news regarding the skyliner incident...

The suspect is now believed to reside in Maryland and also have an affinity for comic books. The FBI has been called in since this will become a federal matter with the fugative crossing state boundaries.

They have a promising lead since they're following a trail of individuals who've received really good hugs leading North from FL. They initially tried following the trail of bacon bits and dole whip droppings, but that only lasted for about 100 yards, so became a dead end.

Evening all. Another gorgeous day on the beach. 10% or 20% rain forecast each day the rest of the week. We picked a great one. I did overdo it in the sun today, and I'll see how red I am in the morning.

Not even close to competing in that game. You know my story - went to Epcot one time as a kid. I'm happy to have given my children the experience of all those Disney trips.

I still get to drink. Bought some Don Julio anejo to enjoy on the beach this trip, minus the cigar. Just can't talk DW into that one.

Just another day at the office for me. Wish I was on a beach like Norm.

If only you could talk that mean old boss into some vacation time.

There are few better hangover cures than the ol' Sausage and Egg McMuffin with a hash brown, I'll give you that my friend.

The grease in the waffle house omelet was my go to hangover cure.

It couldn't have been Randall. He sent me a belated birthday card because he was helping Batman fight crime. Anyone who partners with Batman must be being framed.

Glad you're having a good time Norm. If you were closer, I'd offer to bring you some aloe. Actual plant which is way better I'll have to post a picture of it...need to get a bigger pot...thing is amazing how it grows in FL sunshine.

I'm sure the authorities will need to check his alibi with Batman...all the evidence is not looking good for the chief.
