DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Lemon meringue may be my top choice and I could finish one of myself. SWMBO told me she was known for her pies when we started dating but I could count on one hand how many she has made in the 26 years we've been together. :sad2:

Never had poutine. I'll add the troll horn or the berry cream puff from Kringla Bakeri as great options. I know I am in the minority but I have to disagree on the Biergraten...been there twice and its the one place I refuse to go back to again.
Well, you're entitled to your opinion....

Even if it's wrong!
:lmao:

That is the proper ratio. Wife brought home a pie, the other day, with half that amount of lemon filling and twice the meringue. :(
I'm not a fan of meringue...I usually give to DW, DD or throw it away, so twice as much lemon and half or even a quarter of meringue would work.

EDIT: Ugh, sometimes I just want to chuck my phone! It "fixes" stuff that's right and doesn't fix obviously wrong words. I *give* to DW not fibe. Stupid phone!

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Morning all.

You can say it's name, it was Evil Incorporated, and was our first 13th thread.

I didn't realize it was #13. That explains it.

Time for another pie. Just keep buying pies until you get it right.

Yes, yesterday was also "Pancake Day", at least that's what we call it here. I think I have had this discussion before, but I'll throw it out again. It's a tradition here to have pancakes for supper on Shrove Tuesday/Fat Tuesday. Goes back to using up your flour, eggs, oils before lent starts - everything you need to make pancakes. Somewhere along the line, it also became a tradition to hide coins in the pancakes. I grew up with that and continue it with my family. It's a bit of a game to see who gets the most money.

I knew about using up the ingredients, but we never did coins in the pancakes. The closest here is the king cake, finding a baby Jesus in the cake (inserted after it cools) for a prize.

Typos are known as zerfonics round here.

Sorey to hear about the flu, but that is a way to recover from the Disney diet.

Top O the Mornin Dads! 2 days til DaWorld! Doc I'll pm you soon with possible meet up.
Being from NJ I have to totally disagree, the only good pizza comes from NY, NJ, PA, all the rest might as well get frozen cause that what it tastes like, we had 3 Papa Johns within 25 miles all went out of Biz. We also had Crispy Cream they are all gone too. When I go south of VA and further I do not not buy pizza, or hot dogs, always threw them away after couple bites. In NJ all the fast food pizza chains are basically for those who are too lazy to cook a frozen one. Just today we used a coupon for a buy 1 get 1 pizza at a local real pizzeria 2 lg pie fore 13.81:thumbsup2 in my town we must have at least one pizza place in every shopping center ( town has approx 78,000 people)have at least 60 pizza places in town that makes for great pricing:thumbsup2 But if you like the frozen ones I have about 10,000 of them in my freezer at work:rotfl2:
Don't forget Chicago - both deep dish and regular crust from that neck of the woods

Get better there.

Afternoon brethren from an overcast London. It dawned on me today that I am flying back from Denmark on Brexit day, so I may pack the budgie smugglers in case the plane can't take off to the UK and I have to swim home. Apart from that, the TV in the back room is officially kaputz. And that's all I got for ya.

2 days til DaWorld
Nice.
I have been down with the flu for the last couple of weeks
Was a contributing factor it took you the best part of a week to get home from WDW?

Good job flu bug! More mickey bars and dole whip! And Rum! Always more Rum!

Have a good day chaps.
London out

So, the day after I leave WDW, that's when they decide to open Galaxy's Edge. Okay. Fine. Be that way, Disney. I didn't wanna go anyways....:sad::sad:

In all seriousness though, what are the chances of some soft openings happening in the week prior?

Morning All.

That is all.

Short and to the point. A model for all future posts.

I plan on seeing you both. ;)

You think???

I live here and I'm probably not going near it for at least a month.

Yep. Won't go anywhere near there until things settle down again.

I would say that the chances of a soft opening are really good. I will also say that any soft opening days you will most likely need a AP or be a member of DVC to get in::yes::
