DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Happy Saturday. Looks like another weekend & week if good weather here, with temps back into the 80s In the afternoon. So, maybe I get another week of outdoor tennis after all. Everyone else is asleep now, and I get to enjoy the quiet of the house and the morning sunrise. It's not a sunrise over Cinderella's Castle or a beach, but still enjoyable to watch.

Well, it could. As long as the relationship is with the divorce lawyers....

I've started planting seeds now about me moving down earlier and buying a condo for us both to retire.

On the down side the only beer in this bloody country is Kronenburg. So I'm on the wine.

I

You're at Disney and complaining? You could lose your disdad member # for that. :lmao:

Got a couple of things booked for the March trip. We're on the quick service dining plan so we don't waste too much time eating. Still we booked ADRs for breakfast at Be Our Guest on March 5th and dinner on March 9th at Raglan Road. March 9th is DS's 16th birthday and his grandparents will be joining us for that one.

I still have a goal to try ever restaurant at WDW. (It's good to have goals.) I also found though that we have been booking less TS as well. We still enjoy the break the TS meal gives us during park time, but some of them we have been to once and will probably not return. Kona and ESPN Club are among our favorites. I still want to try Victoria & Albert's one day though.

Nice temps for the end of October.

We found that when we did the TS dining plan we spent more time planning things around where we were eating rather than what we wanted to do in the parks. This will be the first time for us trying Be Our Guest, DW and I have been to Raglan Rd once before.

Happy Florida Georgia weekend. Seems like the Gators haven't played in a month. If you had the chance to got to one football game in your life, I'd recommend the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. Half Florida, half Georgia. Not only the game but a whole weekend of stuff to do. Wish I was there.

We had nice temps all week, windy and rain though. We are supposed to go diving tomorrow but not if the small craft advisories and 6-10 foot waves continue. Enjoy tennis and the nice temps, try not to pull anything.

Not sure what we are going to do during the January trip. We have a 1 BR. so can have meals in the room probably a few breakfasts. Like both BoG and Raglan, good choices.

Have a Good weekend everyone and...

GO GATORS!

Over beer? Never. They wouldn't even call the committee to order. And don't get me started on the "pineapple whip".

Late edit! They are serving Anchor steam at Walts! I take it all back!

Afternoon gents. Been kind of foggy/drizzly last couple of days. Hoping the streets keep drying out so I can get out one or two more times before I have to put the bike to bed for the winter.

I've started planting seeds now about me moving down earlier and buying a condo for us both to retire.

Make it sound like it was her idea.

Evening mate, welcome to the club!

Nice choices. I remember having a beer flight at Raglan Road with breakfast.

Evening boys, last update from Paris. Another pretty full day, although we let the kids sleep in after the 14hr marathon that was yesterday. Saw a few shows today, the new Mickey and the Magician is fantastic, we did Ratatouille again, and then over to Disneyland Park, saw the Halloween Villains show. Ate at Walts, which was really good, but pretty expensive, overlooking Main St. They both look shattered, so we came back to the hotel. The clocks go back here tonight, so we could get into the parks for rope drop in the morning.

Have a great Saturday evening all.

Alright all of you DDCC5 goers. Time has come to get our first headcount of the first bbq held in the house of the mouse. As many if not all of you know we will be hosting a BBQ meet and greet during the DDCC. This event will be kicking off on Thurs Jan 5th (4pm ish) at the party resort of SSSR . This will be one of the highlight meets of the trip hosted by the Magical chefs of the party room and some awesome others .Was planning on getting initial head count in Nov but we are close enough. We would like to get a pretty close number on how many will be attending so we can set menu and start out our planning process. This will take a little bit of organization since it will be taking place at one of the bbq pavilions at a resort. This event will rival any dinner that Disney can offer ( well maybe lol) Once we have our original list our planners will get to work. This event is open to all dads and family members. We are dads and could not be dads without our families.I will be cross posting in all of our club houses but would like to keep our list here in FB as it will be easier here. Please post here if you will be attending and how many will be in your party.

I get what your saying. But, we liked the break, but we also do RD to Park close. So, it's nice to have an hour break to rest and rehydrate in AC and comfy chairs.

Welcome. Dues are payable in dole whip, bacon, beer, or cake. You mail the 800+ to me and then I mail to all the guys. This plan always works.

Now that your a dad, when is your first trip to wdw with the newest family member?

Don't let Carl know you don't like Dole Whip. He'll force you to polar plunge and take away your member #. :lmao:

He doesn't stop by too often, so hopefully nobody will tell him.

Hey Carl. This guy doesn't like Dole Whip! :lmao:

we booked ADRs for breakfast at Be Our Guest on March 5th
I haven't been to Be Our Guest. The theming is fantastic, but I've read mixed reviews on the food. I would still like to try it sometime though. You'll have to tell us what you think of it in March.

I've never seen a football game, but I did see the massive stadium at Texas A&M and was impressed. I'm intrigued by the atmosphere and rituals of US college football. I probably won't ever see a game in person, but it would be fun.

Found it interesting that we can actually order our meal on Feb 3rd.

The Pirate Princess and I will be there. I'll also post on FB.

:D
Au Contraire, my good man. Check my Facebook page, and see what I am eating. I believe you will see me not only eating the aforementioned frosty Pineapple based treat, but you will pick up one in reserve, awaiting to join his brave compatriot in my digestive system.

My issue is that Paris does a fake one, that isn't actually Dole Whip, its like vanilla ice cream with pineapple juice in it.
I'll try and get a photo today.
So there.

I know, that's just weird. I drew the line at that. You can order as you get in as well.
How do you know what you will fancy to eat that far in advance?

It was a good day yesterday. Gators won handily, while Tenn. Miami and FSU lost. Had a good time vegging in front of the TV while munching on snacks.

Welcome! Is the new arrival a boy or a girl?

I want to do this, and a proper Friday Night Lights high school one. Done a few NFL's, but only one in the US.

Nothing like college football in the South. Puts the NFL to shame. You have to tailgate and take in the sights and smells (mostly Bourbon and grilling meat). For the Florida/Georgia game RVs started arriving Wednesday for a Saturday afternoon game.

I'm happy to go drinking with you anytime.

I'm in.

I haven't been to Be Our Guest. The theming is fantastic, but I've read mixed reviews on the food. I would still like to try it sometime though. You'll have to tell us what you think of it in March.

Did BoG for lunch and thought the food was good, not spectacular. Better than just about anything in the park.

Found it interesting that we can actually order our meal on Feb 3rd.

Yea, not really into predicting what I want to eat 6 months from now.

Morning gents.
It's wayyyyy too early for anything more than that.

Had a busy morning. Ran a few errands, voted and stopped by Publix for assorted donuts and pastries. The kid and my UK friend are still sleeping in.

Morning Guys, welcome to Sunday.

Looks like I've put off putting the deck furniture away as long as I can. I guess I should do that today.
