DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Sounds good. If only you weren't 1000+ miles away. What bourbon are you drinking?

Picked up a bottle of Makers Mark on our trip last weekend.

Well done with the tennis! You are setting some pretty high expectations for yourself. Soon there will be pressure to enter the US Open.

Good Morning Guys. A sunny Thursday here and temps in the 80's.

DS pitched 8 innings yesterday as it took an extra one to drop a tough loss to a really good team. 2-2 after 7 innings. 9 errors in the field were the reason for 2 unearned runs. Ended up with 3 more unearned in the 8th for a 5-2 loss. His coach was laughing as he never had a pitcher go 8 inning, give up 0 runs and lose by 3. He pitched well though and ended up throwing 106 pitches. This was the last start for the season so he finished 5-2 with an ERA under 1.3. Good season overall and hoping for a call up to varsity for the state tournament.

With a long weekend of great weather in the way, accomplishing anything the next 2 days will not be easy.

Grant finished and submitted up the line. Assuming I got all the numbers correct, my part is done other than an electronic signature from me and my co-PI who contributed nothing other than saying "Good idea". :headache: I'm too old for these long days and late nights. I'd even give up the future non-existent raise for less responsibility.

I hear ya on those long days. Not sure I'd give up that non-existent raise. The'd probably find a way to use that to make it worse. :sad2:

Morning all...
Still trying to get back into my regular routines 'round here.
Just about healed up enough to no longer have excuses
(which is both a good and a bad thing, depending)

Hey Rob.:wave2: Glad your finally getting back to normal. We can always find excuses. Let me know how many you need and I'll consult with my teenagers.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Good morning all. Doing challenge matches this week on tennis team to determine who should play what for position in team tournament (#1 singles, #1 doubles, etc). So, I ended up drawing and had to play singles against my doubles partner from last year's championship. We played 2 sets, lasting over 2 hours. I won, but am feeling it today. And, I have another challenge match again tonite. I'm too old for this ....

Well, this isn't Nascar. We had a two man crew - driver & me. I took the tire temperatures, relayed info, and made wedge adjustments. I also helped load the car back on the trailer.

Good luck with the tennis match. I'm pretty sure challenging him to a rum drinking contest would be more fun.

A close family friend owned a race car when we were kids and into our 20's. Even got to drive it in a few races, mostly in NH and ME. Being in the pits was always a fun time. I do fondly remember jumping out the way several times to avoid getting pancaked by several cars. Father would just laugh, call us colorful names and remind us how stupid kids can be.:lmao::lmao:

'Morning all...
A short day leading into a long weekend.
Which I will waste most of doing the house work and maintenance that you can't do while you're working.
That's just wrong. We do plan a small day trip Saturday at least so that'll break things up.

Arrived home. Less than 5 minutes of driving down US 1, I turned to the kid and "I hate Miami!" came out.
Wann'a trade?
Bet I can find more to like about your location than you can about mine.

Morning chaps, from sunny London. 1 day left at work and then off to Disneyland Paris at 7 tomorrow morning....
Top O the Mornin Dads! One week until DaWorld trip with DS - wooooohooooo! :cool1::cool1::cool1:
Certainly better plans than the ones I've got worked out for the next week or so.
Y'all enjoy the Dis Time. Post some pic when you get back.

Anyone wants to stop by I have got some scotch and bourbon ready to go.
Sounds good.
Could you mail me a couple shots of each?
Much obliged...

Why do I live here again? :sad2: :lmao:
Family & job?
That's the two things that keep me where I am , at least.

That's a lot of good work regardless of the outcome.
you can only do your part, and I'd say he did more than his share.
Good luck to him on the possible call up

Thanks for the welcome back.
And I appreciate the offer but my young'en just turned 21 and still has enough excuses to spare me many several

My god! My young'en just turned 21! Where did all that time go

Rough weekend for Declan. Worst part was having to meet Jim. :lmao:

Wait....:confused: ....What......:sad1::sad:. I can only assume you have now aligned with CJ and are in need of some mental health assessments.

Given their Celtics discussion, I think he may have felt it was one of the better parts of the weekend. ::yes::

You can have Norm's next lobster delivery.

Arrived home. Less than 5 minutes of driving down US 1, I turned to the kid and "I hate Miami!" came out. I will post some final pics later tonight or tomorrow.

Doesn't everyone hate Miami?:confused3

Morning chaps, from sunny London. 1 day left at work and then off to Disneyland Paris at 7 tomorrow morning....

Take the rest of the day off, tell them we said it was OK. :thumbsup2 Some pics would be appreciated as some of us have never been. Have a great trip!

Morning Guys.

Feels like a Wednesday but it's Thursday. I guess that's a win.

DW left at 4:30 this morning for their annual school trip, just DS and I until Sunday night. I'm guessing some guy like Papa John wll be cooking at some point. Anyone wants to stop by I have got some scotch and bourbon ready to go.

Maybe Peyton will deliver your pizza. Would love to stop by, but that honey do list on long weekends prevents any and all shenanigans.:goodvibes

Great performance, too bad about the loss.

Would that be the lobster that was probably caught up here and shipped to Boston? ;)

Enjoy your trip. Flying there I assume or would you use the tunnel?

Nice, don;t forget some steaks on the grill.
Good morning all. Three nights of tennis and three wins makes for an aching me. One more doubles match tonite. Sadly, I'm now #1 ranked on my team, but plan to play doubles as opposed to singles in June team tournament. It will be three days in a row if highly competitive talent in a really hot time if year.
Could be worse. "Aching" you could be getting your a$$ kicked and still aching.

Nice job by DS and hope he gets the call for the varsity and maybe come out of the bullpen. Agree on getting a lot accomplished with the long weekend as I have that then only 2 days in office next week and then on to DaWorld next Thursday - Officially Checked Out.
My god! My young'en just turned 21! Where did all that time go
Congrats and welcome to the club - have a nice cold with him!

Picked up a bottle of Makers Mark on our trip last weekend.

I'm with Norm, if you didn't live 1000+ miles away, I'd be sipping with ya. If you like Maker's, try their Maker's 46. Stuff is like drinking candy. Smooth and pleasing. It'll warm you up in a hurry if you aren't careful.

There are far too many people going to Disney... AND I'M NOT ONE OF THEM!!!

You need to move closer.

Good morning all. Three nights of tennis and three wins makes for an aching me.

Not bad! Colour me impressed.

That's some good pitching there. Despite the loss, congrats!

Ain't that the truth.

Good news on the healing.

Would love to see a pic or two when you come back. Have a blast.

Dad/son bonding time. Getting away from the mom/daughter planing for the wedding? Also have a blast.

Three nights of tennis and three wins makes for an aching me.

Sorry about the aches but three wins is three wins. Congrats.

It could be worse. You could live in KY, where temps get as hot as Miami, the Ohio valley retains all the humidity, allergens, and pollution, without an relief from an ocean breeze. Why do I live here again? :sad2: :lmao:

Wann'a trade?
Bet I can find more to like about your location than you can about mine.

Weather is nice, the flora and fauna are interesting and there is lots to do here. BUT, 99% of the people down here are asshats. That percentage increases when they get behind the wheel. My greener pasture is about 50 miles south of here in Key Largo.

Picked up a bottle of Makers Mark on our trip last weekend.

Ooooh, nice. Big fan of Makers.

DS pitched 8 innings yesterday as it took an extra one to drop a tough loss to a really good team...

His ERA is outstanding and going 8 innings is a workout. Tough loss but shows one person doesn't make a team.

Great performance, too bad about the loss.

Would that be the lobster that was probably caught up here and shipped to Boston? ;)

Actually that would be the lobster caught about 3 miles off Gloucester by some friends of mine.:goodvibes I usually get a lot of it and then am sick of it by now. This year I don't think I've had lobster at all. I am meeting them Monday morning at the docks as my mom has requested lobster for Memorial Day dinner. The great part is it only costs me a few nights hanging in my basement bar with food and drink. The better part is I would be paying for that anyway without the free lobster.:yay::yay::yay: I can usually steal about 10-12 every few weeks without hearing the sob story about supporting their families.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I hear ya about the weather and Key Largo. I'm pretty sure there are just as many of those hats here in MA.

He used to throw his glove, bat and any thing else he could find while getting angry. He handles it much better now and has learned to support his teammates and be a leader. I've seen him run out to the outfield to tell a friend not to worry and catch the next one. Umpire didn't like the delay, but I thought it was pretty cool. Now if I can just get him to do his homework without fighting every night.:faint:

Well done with the tennis! You are setting some pretty high expectations for yourself. Soon there will be pressure to enter the US Open.

Makers Mark is good. DW did an ambassador thing and someone else did one for DisDads. When those barrels are ready, we'll make sure to include you and arrange for the bootlegging somehow.

:lmao:

Tough loss for DS. There's next season. A rum drinking contest would sure be enjoyable, and more enjoyable for the two people in the stands watching us play tennis. :lmao:

Family & job?
That's the two things that keep me where I am , at least.

Family. I could find another job elsewhere. Haven't worked in 10 years, so it would be difficult.

Wait....:confused: ....What......:sad1::sad:. I can only assume you have now aligned with CJ and are in need of some mental health assessments.

.:goodvibes

Just seeing if you were paying attention. I don't have alliances as that would imply way too much work on my part.

Would that be the lobster that was probably caught up here and shipped to Boston? ;)

Now that is truly fighting words. Accusing a Boston Lobster of being Canadian? Call Trump as we need to build a Northern wall. :lmao:

Could be worse. "Aching" you could be getting your a$$ kicked and still aching.
!

True. It doesn't hurt as bad with the victory. Still, looking to Friday and a day off. Or, maybe I'll cut the grass so Saturday might get the day off.

I'm with Norm, if you didn't live 1000+ miles away, I'd be sipping with ya. If you like Maker's, try their Maker's 46. Stuff is like drinking candy. Smooth and pleasing. It'll warm you up in a hurry if you aren't careful.

Maker's 46 is good as well. I've really enjoyed the Four Roses Single Barrel. It is a really good bourbon and a bit cheaper than the others. I don't have much left in the bottle though.

Sorry about the aches but three wins is three wins. Congrats.

Thanks.
As for the other, what, because there are no asshats anywhere else other than Miami. :lmao:

Feel free to steal me some lobsters while you're at it. Or, just use CJ's credit card. :lmao:

With all the discussion I am now looking forward to a nice drink tonight, manhattan, straight or on the rocks? Also thought we could all use a graphical reference..........................
