DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Well, this isn't Nascar. We had a two man crew - driver & me. I took the tire temperatures, relayed info, and made wedge adjustments. I also helped load the car back on the trailer.
Well that's some pretty important stuff. You don't give yourself enough credit. You're a regular Doc Hudson.

So is a trainee more work for you or less work and more headache?

Way more work. Wayyyyyyyyy more.
At least she's willing to work and learn, so that helps a lot.

(And it's one reason why I can't get to your TR! Too busy!)

Sadly, I don't need to eat the extra food as I'm already fat enough. It's even worse at the restaurant, as I just can't let food get thrown away. I PAID FOR IT. As for leftovers, sometimes they make it home. Often, they get eaten in the car. :sad1:
Uh, not exactly what I meant by train them early...............:rolleyes1

The end of a verrrry long day.
Luckily tomorrow will be much longer.
So you're saying.........It could have been worse! :scratchin

Similar circumstances here. Yeah, I don't need the extra intake, but no leftover ever hits the scullery.
It's paid for and that'd be wasteful, so we're big fans of the to-go box.
Besides, whatever isn't chopped up and reused in a soup or hash or such, generally makes for a decent lunch the next day.
:thumbsup2

Evening Guys,

been away for a few days and back at work today for a full day meeting.

Got to spend a few days in the Boston area for a basketball tourney. Declan and his team mates went 0-3, losing one game in overtime, losing one game they probably should have won and the last getting beat on by a very good team. Declan is 6'4" and most of the other team was his size or better. There is only one guy on his team bigger than him and he didn't play. Overall I think they got what they wanted and that's a level of competition that they have a hard time finding up here.

We also got to have a nice dinner with Jim and his DS (Jim posted the picture over on Facebook). Was great seeing them again and enjoying a nice meal.

Made the drive back yesterday, doing a shopping in Kittery along the way and one stop in New Hampshire for the sheep booze. Managed to pick up a nice bottle of Makers Mark for a much better price than we pay here.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Time to head back and see what I missed.

Here is an example of the guy Declan was usually matched up with in their last game.

Home from tennis, and the rain dance didn't work. Another successful challenge match win at 6-0, 4-6, 10-4 (3rd set tiebreak) makes me #1 on the team. I was up against a 30 year old player, who was in way better shape than I. I get to enjoy bragging here since the family is all asleep. I probably had a lot of luck tonite.

Well that's some pretty important stuff. You don't give yourself enough credit. You're a regular Doc Hudson.

Thanks. I'm just glad no one was able to supervise my work. And, I wasn't on the clock like the Nascar pit crew.

At least she's willing to work and learn, so that helps a lot.

You didn't say "she". Cue that music. Bow chicka wow wow.

Uh, not exactly what I meant by train them early...............:rolleyes1

I know. When in parenting doubt, I go for what I'm good at.

Yes. And today's been a lot harder.
.

See. Cue that music again. Bow chicka wow wow.

Rough weekend for Declan. Worst part was having to meet Jim. :lmao:

Given their Celtics discussion, I think he may have felt it was one of the better parts of the weekend. ::yes::

Top O the Mornin Dads! We can do it, get through the day that is. Have a good one.

Nice road trip there and nice meet with Jim. Sometimes you need to take youth teams and play them against different levels of skill to see where they're at and what they need to get better at, though you cant develop size.

Well done there Normy. Should have woke them up to celebrate!

'Morning all...
Tired of thinking so I figured I stop by here for a bit.

Ya know...
That sounded better in my head it then it looks written down.

Good to see you getting back to normal and bringing your wit back to our little club
I suspect that the grammar checker fouled that sentence up for you. Shouldn't have been:
"bringing your little wit back to our club"?

Seems far more appropriate.
Oh, and thanks for the welcome...
re-welcome...
welcome back...
hummmm...
Thanks will probable do just fine here.

Glad to hear you've recovered. Now, just don't get hurt again.
I like the sound of that advice... or is it I like that sound advice...
Either way I'll endeavor to follow it. My suspicions are that I won't be successful but I'll give it a shot.

Never let work keep you from posting. :lmao:
Words to live by.

Just don't let management catch you carrying out those fine words.

I think the disney accountant would have charged you for the thimble, or bundled it to a DVC contract
Oh, if they can charge for it, they will.
I just don't want them to start thinking that all the beverage containers needed to be thimble sized.
'Cause you know they'd do it.

and likely we'd all grumble a bit and then shell out the cash for it anyway...
We're all a bit busted that way.

Luck?
Seems to me you do rather well for yourself on that team.
I doubt that it's attributable to all that much luck.

Finished my 16 hours straight of mentoring/training. Phew! Long shift. But got home and managed to grab a whole 4 hours of sleep... which ain't bad.

ain't good... but ain't bad...

Tired of thinking so I figured I stop by here for a bit.

This is the place for that.

Ya know...
That sounded better in my head it then it looks written down.

Actually... no.

A late check in. Not as sore today, but still have two more days of tennis. At least they are both doubles and I only have to cover 1/2 the court.

It doesn't hurt that she's pretty.......
.

:goodvibes:goodvibes

Well done Sir, well done!
s::

Thanks.

Well done there Normy. Should have woke them up to celebrate!

I thought of that, but was afraid DW might have whooped me with the tennis racquet if I did that.

Thanks. I'm overall healthier than I have been in years, but still have a long way to go.

You were straight for 16 hours? I thought you were supposed to call someone after 4 hours? :lmao:

Or, did you have her for 16 hours? Bow chicka wow wow. :lmao:

I'd like to stop, but my immature brain just won't let me.

Arrived home. Less than 5 minutes of driving down US 1, I turned to the kid and "I hate Miami!" came out. I will post some final pics later tonight or tomorrow.

Hey Darcy, I saw a couple of your pictures over on FB. It looks like you had a good trip. Too bad the games didn't go your way, but like you say it's the exposure to that level of competition that really benefits them.

Morning Guys.

Feels like a Wednesday but it's Thursday. I guess that's a win.

DW left at 4:30 this morning for their annual school trip, just DS and I until Sunday night. I'm guessing some guy like Papa John wll be cooking at some point. Anyone wants to stop by I have got some scotch and bourbon ready to go.

Good morning all. Three nights of tennis and three wins makes for an aching me. One more doubles match tonite. Sadly, I'm now #1 ranked on my team, but plan to play doubles as opposed to singles in June team tournament. It will be three days in a row if highly competitive talent in a really hot time if year.

It could be worse. You could live in KY, where temps get as hot as Miami, the Ohio valley retains all the humidity, allergens, and pollution, without an relief from an ocean breeze. Why do I live here again? :sad2: :lmao:

Morning chaps, from sunny London. 1 day left at work and then off to Disneyland Paris at 7 tomorrow morning....

Jealous. Have a great trip.

Top O the Mornin Dads! One week until DaWorld trip with DS - wooooohooooo! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Sounds good. If only you weren't 1000+ miles away. What bourbon are you drinking?
