DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Ok fellow dads, I need alittle help, as y'all know I am doing the Star Wars 5k and Rebel Challenge next month. I have my running costumes for the Rebel Challenge, but I need some expertise on part of my 5K costume.

What do y'all think makes a Disney newbie/ tourist, clothes wise?

Long pants Shoes with a heal.

Ok guys because of this post I will clarify lol

As far as shirt and hats go what screams newbie/tourist.

I will be using my running shoes and not "shoes with a heel" lol and running shorts.

Morning dads. 2-1/2 more days of work then I finally get some time off. Whoo hoo.

Morning dads. 2-1/2 more days of work then I finally get some time off. Whoo hoo.

Me too!! :woohoo:

Actually, the company is giving us the second half of the day off on Wednesday if we work the first half. I was thinking about using a day of vacation, but now I have to think about it a bit. Spend the whole day with the family but burn a vacation day, or work half a day and get paid for the full day and save the vacation time.

I'll probably wait until I know DD16's work schedule before I make a decision.

Holiday day 3 time off Ownage.

Morning all. A stressful week for me starts today with shopping for DW, gifts for both dds and DW for stockings, drive to my parents & crazy Aunt for a visit Tuesday, outlaws Wednesday, & outlaws Thursday. I always look forward to spending my holidays with people we never spend time with throughout the remainder of the year, especially when they are so unpleasant to be around.

Yea I would stay as far away from being a Titans fan lol, Titans need more then the first or second pick in the first round.

Colts kinda got destroyed yesterday. Titans may not be looking as bad after all". :lmao:

At least I still have the pro team UK Wildcats which held UCLA to 7 points in the first half? :scared1:

I was doing line dances by myself..... :headache:

It doesn't help when the bar is in a totally different room than the entertainment.

Business is OK. Companies still don't want to spend money like they used to.
:

Maybe it was your dancing that kept them off the dance floor? :lmao:
My personal economy hasn't increased in years. Where is all the money going?

I'm not much on costumes. I've worn that same Jack Skellington tshirt at the WDW MNSSHP for the past several years. Maybe a t-shirt with a saying on the back "if you are reading this, I just farted in your general direction"

Wow. That's a pretty lame company party!:rotfl2:

Tim needs me the drunken version of me there to liven it up. Something would be set on fire and/or the police would have been called. Either way - it would have been memorable. I am so thankful smartphones with cameras were around 20 years ago.

‘Morning all…
Promises to be a slow few days work wise.
I’d consider taking some of it off, but that’s been forbidden.
Par for the course.

At least we’ve gotten most of the tasks for the holidays taken care of or at least marshaled the bulk of the supplies needed to pull them off. I’ll finish the wrapping tonight and then report back to the General and await farther instructions.

Evening...Christmas madness is in full form, tomorrow should be fun. I will admit, it wasn't a banner day for me, my mood was off. Declined to partake in the Pot luck luncheon, but took a quiet lunch away from the store which did wonders. It gets better after the first year, right?

The cut loses its sting, the flow subsides, the pain dulls, anguish will yield…
The wound gradually mends as time wears and smooths the sharp edges plying its ceaseless vocation ever forcefully against that which resists most. The heat will dissipate but the structure will never crystallize back into perfect order. Scars are eternal; they tell our stories. Memories are a blanket that surrounds us; shields us. The needs of those we hold most dear will require our attention and draw us out into the light. Heed that call. Though the lingering ache shall never completely subside, the warmth of that light provides the most assured relief.

Hummm… that there be a lot of long words there and we’re but humble Dads.

Basically means: yes.

I once knew a man from Nantucket.

Let's just say the stories about him were greatly exaggerated.

:lmao: :rotfl2:

Though I must say...
I don’t know that I’d have taken time to determine the extent of that particular truth.

So i watched some of the Disney Evening on Turner Classic Movies last night. Was kinda neat to see the first episode of Disneyland from 1954. Thought it was funny how the hosts were discussing what prompted WED to put a show on about a park that hadn't opened yet. You knew they were thinking it but they didn't want to say it was the worlds first long form infomericial. I found the segment from Song of the South they played very interesting. Very obvious why Disney won't be re releasing that gem in our lifetimes. Wow. It was good stuff and it'll be fun to see what they do in the future, apparently they plan on doing this a few times a year. Also, to see how the link up with TCM turns out with the Great Movie Ride at HS.

Morning All,

Chart house dinner was awesome! 3-0 this weekend. DD team won a close one to go to 4-1. DD got the game saving defensive rebound and hit the game winning shot.:thumbsup2 My team went 2-0 and basically forced a couple of wins when we were not playing at our best. Yesterday we shot 11-55 :eek:from the floor, but scrapped on the defensive end to win by 7. We adjusted our defense to take their top player out of the game. Other coach never adjusted.:sad2::sad2: I love being smarter than the other guy.:rotfl2:

It gets quiet in here this time of year...

Speaking of Christmas shopping- I should probably start that soon.

I shall begin my shopping this evening. DW pretty much took care of the kids. I have some gift certificates to buy and a computer for DS and I think that is most of it this year. I do have to build that hockey table.:headache: Looks like a late night on Wednesday.:rolleyes1

I haven't started shopping yet. DW and I did take care of the big gifts for the dds but that's it.

I was wondering why my gift had not arrived yet.:confused3

Ahhhh.....the weekend :)

:sad1:Monday.

:lmao::lmao:

If you guys were here I'd definitely share them with you both.:grouphug:

My late cousin used to play Dungeons & Dragons (yes, D&D and he was 40 years old) with some of his friends and they each would bring a 6 pack of different local micro brews (apparently there were many where he lived in Colorado). Everyone got to try a bunch of different brews.

We tried doing a beer exchange at work, but we just couldn't get it to work with people's schedules. So I'm just going to buy some seasonal brews for me. :drinking1

Fezziwig from Sam Adams is pretty good if you can find it. They only make it for about 6 weeks. Can't keep it stocked in the house. Every time we have company, that's what goes first.

On the plus, DW got her bonus, which will go towards booking our August trip to the Mouse next month !

:cool1::cool1: Hey Brent. We still have our August reserved, but only 50/50 if we will be going through with it. Have fun booking. Bonus this year goes to restocking the savings after that basement project. DW is eyeing the bathrooms and foyer next. Not sure how much my wallet can take.

Funny thing about our elf, DD decided that she didn't want the elf to move to different places every night because she is concerned that she may end up somewhere that someone could accidentally touch her..

Every time the elf does not move in our house I get blamed. DD says I stay up too late and then she doesn't have time to go back to the North Pole and get back by morning.:headache: Hopefully this will be the last year as DD will be in her teens next year. Maybe the elf will get taken out on the way to the house next year by a plane heading for WDW.:confused3 Flying just isn't safe anymore.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Afternoon Gentlemen,

Happy Saturday and the start of Bowl Mania. Not everyone's cup of tea but my TV is going to get a workout Until january 4th. Made it home yesterday without incident and basically just dropped the bags in the Living room. Still haven't unpacked. Maybe laundry later today.

Have a good weekend.

Glad you made it safely. I just throw my bags in the living room and DW does the laundry.:thumbsup2 I have been allowed to do laundry exactly 5 times since we were married and screwed it up each time. :thumbsup2 Now I'm not allowed to do it any more.:woohoo::woohoo:

Checking in from my last Christmas party of the year. Thank God this is it... company parties aren't what they used to be. In 4 1/2 hours the torture will be over. See y'all on the flip side. :santa:

Your going to the wrong Christmas parties.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Can't believe the Bungals are in control of that division. As KY has no pro teams, I don't get to be a fan. I enjoyed watching the Cowboys with Emmitt Smith running behind that offensive line. I am closest to the Titans, with Bungals, Rams, and Colts being an hour + further. Since David has taken me to Colts games, my fan loyalties might go there. They are available to the highest bidder. If I could go only move to Tampa or Miami ..... :lmao:

If you want to back the winner, the Patriots are taking applications.:thumbsup2 The Colts, if they get to the AFC title game would have to win at Gillete. Not likely.

And that reminds me......HEY CJ! PATS GOT FIRST ROUND BYE, Phins headed to the golf course after next week.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::lmao:

I once knew a man from Nantucket.

Let's just say the stories about him were greatly exaggerated.

I think I know that guy?:confused3?

:lmao::lmao:

Morning Dads...

Been busy around here.

I just ordered new Hardwood flooring for my living room and dining room.

I just ordered a new reclining full leather sofa, and reclining full leather love seat.

I am going to flip / flop my current living room and dining room.

And hopefully boxing day (the day after Christmas) I am going to buy a 60" TV.

Now all I need is a way to pay for this all. I am taking donations, suggestions, etc... :rolleyes1

You can always use CJ's stolen credit card. Paul, PM the numbers to the guy. He needs help.

Yea I would stay as far away from being a Titans fan lol, Titans need more then the first or second pick in the first round.

Before the Oilers came to town, I was a Falcons fan, still am this time of year but they are not given me much to root for either lol.

Glad my Preds are playing well lol

Marriotta looks like he may be a winner with that first pick. With a few decent FA moves, the Titans could be close to a playoff birth next year.

Hey, they Falcons could win 7 games and host a playoff game. :lmao::lmao:

Long pants

Shoes with a heal.

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

Morning dads. 2-1/2 more days of work then I finally get some time off. Whoo hoo.

:woohoo::woohoo: Thinking Wednesday may be only a 1/4 day for me if I can get stuff done quick enough.
