DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
I had a torn tendon in my elbow and had surgery last Monday (12th) to repair it. Between the post surgery pain and the physical therapy pain I am having a ton of fun lol. I am off for a few more weeks so I get to hang here a little more than usual. :cool1:

Good to see you here Steve! Enjoy the high life and the pain meds! Wait, that didn't come out right.

‘Morning all…

Hey guys....things have started to finally turn in the right direction I think with the arm so I should be ready to report to the Reds training camp in time :goodvibes

Rob...you have I have a cruise coming up in about 4 months...are you packed yet? The facebook page about that is starting to really hop! I get I get a warning or banned for typing the word FACEBOOK! :rotfl2:

FACEBOOK FACEBOOK
FACEBOOK FACEBOOK
:lmao:

There… fixed it for ya’. Maybe they’ll be able to see it now
(but without an actual link I do believe they don’t really care that much)

Good to hear that a bit of healing is starting to set in.

I’ve noticed the increase in traffic over there. Still don’t like commenting in that environment (feels like your crashing someone else’s party and it’s way too public) but I try to read. Looking forward to getting on the ship. I just need for a couple of things the happen between here and the end of February before I can be certain I won’t have to cancel. That’s another reason I don’t talk about it much. At least until I’m pretty certain I won’t jinx it.

No…
I think that’s just about the way you ought’a say it.

Happy Friday Morning!

Half day for me today. DS has a hoop game early afternoon.:thumbsup2 With potential rain/ice/snow bearing down on the Northeast, we'll see if we can get our hoop games in over the weekend. DD has two games, but is missing one to go to a birthday party. I was outvoted and still a little sour about it. My other team has a game Sunday against the only team that is good enough to beat us when we are at full strength so should be a good game. After that, it's cruising along until playoffs.

Bill doesn't concern himself with game balls. He makes sure the practice balls suck, but doesn't even concern himself with the ones on game day.:roll eyes: Tom chooses the balls and then assumes those are the ones he is using in the game. Anyone smell a cover up but he NFL? My theory now is that the referees approved the balls without measuring the PSI and do it all the time (Basically looked at them and said......OK, we're good). No one wants to accuse and then have to fire the official in charge so we'll say they checked them and everyone can deny what can't be proven. After the year of screw ups, I think Goodell has to go regardless of how this plays out. He has no ability to make good decisions when situations arise. I guess it's more serious to have less air in a football than it is to beat your kids or knock your wife out in an elevator.:sad2::sad2:

But it's SOOOO easy to hate Belichick! :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

I think that's his goal. If everyone is busy hating him, no one is paying attention to everything else.:lmao::lmao: I think he actually enjoys being a you know what.

But really, the press conferences today should never have happened. I think the NFL has done their investigation and found 11 balls under inflated, so fine the coach and the team based on the rule that is already in the rule book and let's move on.

How can the investigation be done if the NFL hasn't even spoken to Brady yet. I have a hard time believing he lied about that. Wouldn't the QB you want to accuse of cheating be one of the first ones you speak with. :confused3

Andy, that's a totally reasonable and common-sense statement. Which is why nobody will go for it.

:rolleyes1 I say we all meet at ESPN zone on the Boardwalk to discuss over Super Bowl weekend.

Some ball boy is going to take the fall. Throwing 8 TD's? I don't use emoticons but in this case :lmao:

Is the bet on? GO HAWKS!

Of course the bet is on. That ball boy will be making a lot of $$ when he starts on the talk show circuit.

They are afraid of showing too much excess inventory at year end might hurt the budget or some mumbo jumbo like that. We only bring in billions as it is ( that isn't an exaggeration either) but they need to cut and slice and show more. Corporate supply chain model doesn't work but they can't show that.

Yeah, that's kind of the goal. Low inventory, revenue maximization and cash retention.

I actually thought he was telling the truth. That's about as adamant as he's been about anything in all his time as the Pats coach. Plus, it would be Brady's call on it, not his...

I expected the same. Was shocked that he denied any knowledge. I just pray he's not dumb enough to lie about it...:scared:

That's my fear. Some poor kid's life will be ruined covering for Brady. Hopeful he gets a nice payout from it...

Maybe Kraft should have a press conference just to confirm he knows nothing about it and that he doesn't even know what the procedure is.:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Morning...

Today's life lesson: make sure you have some sort of insurance or something for when it's your time to go. :headache:

Essentially, DW has been checking things out for her dad, and he's got nothing, not even bought into the Canadian Pension Plan so no death benefit there. I officially squashed this years trip, no way we are going to squeeze enough cash for it. Major downer today naturally, gotta wait another year. I'll have to live vicariously through Facebook posts now.:rotfl2:

Sorry to hear that Brent. I thought everyone had something through CPP.

I hear you on the trip, it will be 2 years this summer since I've had an extended stay trip. Hoping for a day at Easter but that is just a tease.

That's the great thing about the Dis Dad's page... it is private. Only the other Dads in that group can see the posts. I don't like publicly putting information out on Facebook. I'll only make occasional public posts, but most of what I do on there is on the DDC page or a couple of other closed groups I'm involved in.

Yeah, the NFL has been a bit of a circus the past few years. But they're still raking in the cash hand over fist. Good luck getting rid of him. :rolleyes1

Unless I'm wrong, the NFL's punishment was for the coach and the team? I thought I saw that the listed punishment was fines for them... I could be missing something though.

I need the tactical extraction team on alert. 4 teenage girls over to the house for oldest dd's birthday sleepover. They get the main tv room and I'm hiding upstairs in the room over the garage. I'll be ready for that Batman type airplane extraction.

Like Andy said, FB group is closed group. I rarely post to regular FB.

:rotfl: Maybe the same guy is now the Pats ballboy? :lmao:

Now that's a conspiracy theory. :lmao:

Deflatergate story has run its course. Everyone agrees it had little effect on Blount running the ball thru Colts defenders. Regardless of the findings, it's not going to change people's perceptions of Belicheck - he'll remain a coaching genius or coaching cheater in the eyes of the beholder.

I missed this! Hope the healing is going well. Hang in there.

And save some meds for your friends... ;)

Morning guys, happy Friday!!

Morning David!

Agree. I think this thing comes back to life after the SuperBowl, though. And I think the blame is going to be (rightfully so) but on Brady. I may be naive, but Belichick really seemed to not know about it yesterday. And hearing other former/current QB's talk about it, the head coach rarely, if ever, seems to have any input or knowledge of the game ball prep.

Could ruin TB12's golden boy image... :confused3

:sad2: How DW wants to keep the trip channel open ( I asked if I should keep putting in OT (Sunday shifts suck the big one). That woman's going to kill me one day

I thought so too, but since Ive known him he's been on disability, and no longer on that. I always assumed you put in no matter what and I'm not sure where his money comes from.

Maybe I oughta listen to DW more?

No that's silly.:rotfl2:

That's a bummer Brent. Sorry to hear things are not improving. Continued prayers being sent that things go better than anticipated.

We will miss seeing you guys in August. I'll send lots of pics and who knows, maybe I'll photoshop you into a couple.:good vibes

As far as insurance, we don't get any publicly funded benefits here. I have enough that I'm surprised no one has tried to take me out. We have $25K policies on the kids, mostly as a way to make sure they have something when they get older. If they were to get ill or something serious, no one would insure them. With these, they can buy additional insurance without being denied. Only costs about $200 annually and provides a little piece of mind for their future. The bonus is they accumulate cash value as well. Not a lot, but something.

I hear you on the trip, it will be 2 years this summer since I've had an extended stay trip. Hoping for a day at Easter but that is just a tease.

Maybe you should play one of those hoop tournaments at ESPN Sports Zone. AS the coach, the parents would pay for your trip, right? You just got think think outside the box.

Seems to me, the only one who has accused Tom Brady was his own coach. :lmao: .

You noticed that too, huh.:confused3

Brady's legacy is set. Belicheck will always be looked at with skepticism, even by those of us that enjoy his antics. #killbill3

Sounds like you need something to drink. I hear Brent has a lot of extra inventory. Maybe he can set send you some and kill 2 birds with one stone as they say.:lmao::lmao:

It's all marketing. Don't worry, he'll just put on another sweater, they'll explain he has a model wife and show him hanging with his sister. Even if he is blamed for this whole thing, 3 years after retirement no one will care or remember.

:sad2: How DW wants to keep the trip channel open ( I asked if I should keep putting in OT (Sunday shifts suck the big one). That woman's going to kill me one day

I"m on her side! She's a smart woman.:lmao::lmao: We bought our first house the year before we got married. From that time until DD (second child) was born, I was working 4 jobs if you count coaching (yes, it was high school and a paid position). When I finally stopped and only had one job, I kept thinking I had to be somewhere for months but couldn't remember where I was supposed to be.:faint: I say work the overtime. If it kills you, we'll have a toast in your honor in August.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Now that would be cool.

As a person who works in sport I have always wanted to just get in the facilities at Wide World of Sports just to look around. So far I have only been able to see the ball park during a spring training game.

That woman's going to kill me one day
?

I think that statement was in our wedding vows. "Till death to we part" or "the wife expedites it".

I you don't survive I call dibs on any remaining (doubtful) bourbon you have stashed

Let me save you some time & money. There is no chance there will be any leftover bourbon.

We had 2 baseball tournaments in Disney she Evan was younger. It was a lot of fun for the kids to be able to play and then hang at the resort and head to the parks together. Some of the best sports memories we have. Of course most of the fun was off the field.

I'm sure it has changed a little, but we toured the whole place and it was amazing how much goes on every day there. Tons of soccer fields, lacrosse, baseball and softball. Inside the building is food, hoop courts, volleyball, etc.... We actually watch a soccer match U11 age with teams from Brazil and Portugal. It was awesome. That was the day DS realized he was not as good as he thought at soccer.:lmao::lmao: The we watched some hoop games during lunch before heading back to the resort. It is run really well and is an impressive place.

Who says Norm doesn't do anything all day.:confused3 Look Darcy, he just saved you 6 minutes by coming up with a form letter so you can get to WDW. Sounds like you may need to bring him along as an assistant coach.
