DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Oh you all want to get a good laugh. So my wife, came to me early last week and informed me that she had a positive pregnancy test. We are not planning on any new kids, and

AND??????

AND??????

Oh... That got cut off.. ;)

She is not pregnant. She is just almost 40 and wants more kids so very bad. I am 5 years older, and don't want to be that 60+ year old dad at HS graduation. :)

My wife also had her tubes tied when we had our last child seven years ago, but there have been cases where the tubes have become untied, but not for my wife. Spring break starts for her on Friday, so she will be fine once she gets a week off from work.

Happy Wednesday. Looking forward to tennis tonite and a few weeks of break from swim practice. Close to single digits for BWV.

Sounds like some folks from KY migrated to Florida.

I wanted more kids, but DW and problems with both, so we called it quit after #2. Now, I can barely keep with up the two I have, and can't imagine trying with more.

Heh. You'd have to be a moron to have a kid that late in life!

Crap.

Hey Guys! It's Wednesday already. See how I skipped the whole Monday/Tuesday thing. Makes the week a little shorter.

Well the new kittens managed to swat my cell phone off the counter and smashed it to bits over the weekend. Got a new iphone 6S to replace it. Had the plus and it was just too big. I like this one better. I know the new ones are coming in about a week, but my phone is more of a necessary evil than a cool gadget so I am usually a few models behind. Now I'll have the newest one for a week! on the cutting edge baby!

Hope everyone is well. Congrats where deserved, prayers where needed and a whole lot of pixie dust for everyone now that spring has arrived!

Not a fan of the U in anything so I didn't have it past the 16. Come on down anytime, the weather is beautiful. Will be in S. Orange, NJ for graduation ceremonies in May. We will spend a day or two in NYC before a meandering trip back home. That is about the only trip planned for this year.

And bring it! I can take it and even get off a shot or two of my own.

The games this weekend were fun. We had great seats and watched 2 almost upsets with Wichita State and Yale coming back from big half time deficits to fall at the end. DS has baseball tryouts this week. If he makes varsity, it could restrict our travel schedule. If JV, then we'll hope for a Celtics/Heat series so we can come down for a few days. Weather here is getting better. Spring and fall are tops on the list up here. Can take or leave the overly hot or overly cold temps. That's why I'm heading somewhere else when I retire.

I'll try to be on here a little more again. I am usually seeing most of the facebook stuff. Tell the Pirate Princess good luck with the presentation in HI from us. Randall is awesome as usual for forwarding the info.

I guess all women just think we are supposed to read their minds.

:furious:

I like the VBR, and it is a terrific beach resort. I just like wdw better. Fall Break over Columbus Day weekend has just been really busy. So, Spring Break (non-Easter time) should be more enjoyable. If you haven't been to Vero Beach and want to kill 2 hours driving, then let me know.

HAHAHA! Women should realize that over thousands of years of evolution we stopped trying.

I'll certainly let you know what we decide. The crowd thing has been the issue holding me back on booking either August or October. Both times were really fun a few years ago. The last few trips it seems like everyone is at the parks. Not a big beach person and prefer WDW and the pool, but if we pull the trigger I'm sure we'll have at least one off day so maybe. DW enjoys the beach.

Happy Monday morning. I forgot my office desk keys at home, so I'll just to wait until tomorrow to start working this week. Definitely in my countdown to vacation.

:scared1:  :scared1:

It was 39 degrees here this AM, but is supposed to get closer to 60. You just keep all that snow up north.

It was snowing pretty hard on Monday morning. Got about 5-6 inches. By 2PM it was all melted and gone. Gotta love New England. The spring weather is coming along with rain every few days. I "forget" my keys sometimes as well. I like it better when I "forget" it's a work day and stay in bed.:smooth: I have about 12 weeks of vacation heading into the year so hopefully I'll be taking more time off. Maybe we can have a competition.:bored:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Sorry, that made my day today.

We agreed to stop at a boy and a girl. As they got older (and friends were having more) I was all for one more. DW had and still has no interest in more kids. I was even willing to bypass the stress and adopt. She shot that down as well.

T-minus 4 days and counting....

Pray for me, we'll be there during the hordes of Spring Breakers!

60% + chance of rain for all but 2 days of our week....I'm hoping it's just the quick hitting afternoon shower variety!

Do you guys know if the boats in the bay lake area (the ones that go from Contemporary to Wilderness Lodge) run in the rain? We have a Whispering Canyon ADR on our arrival day that also has a 90% chance of rain that day and I'm trying to think of alternate ways of getting there if needed. Taxi or Uber I guess.
Have a great time! Spring Break ain't bad if you know what you are doing at DaWorld. We've done it but we do Christmas / New Years too so we are whacko any way you look at it. Grown kids in college means you go when they don't have school

I was lying on the above...

This time I mean it, CONGRATULATIONS!

All comedy relies partially on truth. This is pure comedy.

Let me know and good luck to your son. Also, thanks for the contribution to the Pirate Princess' trip for the presentation. I don't know who is more excited about this, her or her academic advisor.

Shock and horror and hope and relief in a short period of time, then?

I thought you couldn't post those vids on the DIS?

That's what kittens do.
It's their job.

Got a new iphone 6S to replace it.

And a new target for the kittens.

At least you have that interview for promotion/ parole, sonny.

Well, maybe you have your health.

:

Sorry to hear about the phone. As for the beach, I'm with you and would rather be at wdw. Still, we get the week there in April, so a beach trip is a cheaper and still enjoyable. I think we are going to try a kayak trip if my knee can bend enough to fit inside one. VBR is a dvc resort and points cheap that time of year.

You just sit there and stamp your forms, sonny, and quit wasting my time.

Sad news that Joe Garagiola passed away today. You young pups probably don't know of him but he was a former catcher and baseball broadcaster. Before cable (yes, there was something before cable) he was a fixture on NBC's game of the week. Funny guy with great baseball knowledge and stories. Interesting trivia was he grew up just down the street from Yogi Berra. There must have been something in that pasta that made baseball players.

Sorry to hear. Used to watch game of the week all the time as a kid and he was good.

One Word, "Grandkids!"

God, my oldest is only 12, let's hope it is many years prior to this. :)

Also, we had some bad pregnancies, we had a miscarriage in between number one and two, and with our last daughter we lost her twin during the pregnancy. So my wife had a rough time with all the kids births. I work in healthcare, so I get to see some of the horror stories of child birth(I am not a clinician, but have worked in the Quality departments of hospitals and have audited medical records.)

Anyway, we might adopt children when ours are a little older, but I am so happy with just augmenting our kids with pets as needed to fill the void, so I hope my wife is as well. :) Plus I like going to Disney too much to have more kids and with my ability only to spawn girl babies, weddings to pay for in the future. :)

With that said, woohoo it's Thursday!!!!
