DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Hi Michael, Welcome Back!

Good evening....yeah I'm back. Long story...LOL

Same Cyborgs that played for Clemson? They looked pretty good against Oklahoma and it should be a good championship game against Alabama.

Let's hope so. I was at the Orange Bowl and I'm hoping we continue to relish the underdog role.

Hey guys, I'm back after a great winter break. Did mostly nothing for a week. I even spent a full day playing video games with the kids, which was glorious. Haven't done that in a long time.

Saw Star Wars. That movie was just so much fun. They did a great job with it, and I'm eager to see what happens next.

I actually liked the first half hour or so. Then the scenes shifted to Peru, and it just completely went down the drain.

George Lucas seems really bitter in the latest interviews. I have a hard time feeling sorry for a guy who sold the property for $4 billion and then grumbles that they didn't like his ideas.

Hey, it's a Fed sighting! Hi Fed!:wave2:

That's because they were!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Starting QB?

Yeah, I could do that.

Well apparently you first need to be a cyborg, but once you get around that minor obstacle...
just drop a resume in the mail addressed to:

Miami Dolphins Human Resources
Sun Life Stadium
347 Don Shula Drive
Miami Gardens, Fla., 33056.
.

Well, I do have those plates/ screws in my arm, so I think I qualify.

Highly unlikely. They kept Tannenbaum in charge of football operations so I have little hope for the future. Expect them to pick a long snapper specialist or some other useless position with the number 8 pick.

Would not want to be QB with this offensive line, you would end up getting killed. I would suggest something in scouting. You get to travel around watching football and no one will care what you input is. The big shots will just do what they want anyway. You would have "I didn't pick him," as a built in excuse.

Well, there's that. Although, I can pick up a one year contract at that money and would never have to work again.

I hear you sir, and we have gone live today with a data conversion / merge combining business units - PITA

That doesn't sound fun. Good luck.

The Crystal Skull was a bit of a let down for me, so I'm hoping the next Indiana Jones doesn't star Harrison Ford. I guess Hollywood has run to of ideas, especially since they remade Point Break". Is it time to talk Star Wars yet?

The last Indy movie... well... sucked. If you can revive that franchise with something decent then okay. Otherwise, please let it die.
I wouldn't mind Ford in a cameo, though. That'd be okay.

Any time I think about the Crystal Skull, I imagine George Lucas and Steven Spielberg standing on an overlook, talking to the Birds from Bolt...

"Aliens"

I love the Indiana Jones movies but I thought that The Last Crusade was a perfect way to end the series.

Ok... @cj9200 , I'm a Florida fan next year.

Partially.

I see that Austin Appleby is taking a graduate student transfer to go there. I think he can be successful. Never mind the fact that he lost the starting QB job with a 2 - 10 program this year. I put that entirely on the coaching staff. First and foremost, he's a good kid. He's got a great skillset. He's a big pocket passer with a strong arm, but also has a sneaky ability to scramble better than you think he can.

His biggest downfall was poor decisions. He can make the big throw and hit the deep ball, but he's had a tendency to try to fit the ball in holes that aren't there and turn it over. But he was always playing from behind. And part of this, I feel, was due to the scheme the offense ran as well. I could sit in my living room watching the game on TV and predict what was going to happen, so I'm pretty darn sure any Division 1 DC who is worth a crap could do the same. His OC/QB coach at Purdue was FINALLY fired this off-season... came a few years too late, IMO. I feel like good coaching can help him fix the flaws his game has had and it can definitely put him in a better position to succeed. I'm really hoping to see him get a chance to play for the Gators next year and finally show us what he's capable of.

One more sleep until we hit the road. Couple of things to do at the house but we are pretty much a go. Also need to stop at Publix for a few items. Getting excited to get going.

That gives them five scholarship QBs on the roster. If things go as planned, Treon will change positions if beaten out as the starter (which they hope). That leaves Luke Del Rio a Senior transfer, Appleby, and two highly regarded incoming Freshmen. All are on campus now. Mac is a QB guru and will get the most out of them. His big thing is turnovers and running an efficient offense. Going to be an interesting off season.

One of you guys from up north do me a favor and shut the door please.

We saw 30s down here last night.

Currently 63 and cloudy. Kind of a nice break from the heat and humidity. Would not like to be in the 30s though.

Enjoy the trip and time with the Pirate Princess. Sure do wish I was going as well but this time of year at work makes it impossible to get away. Been longer than normal for us between visits.

I have a bass tournament on Toho this weekend...I needed the cold temps, but this might be cutting it too close.

I was going to try to maybe hook up with you guys Friday night, but not sure it's going to be possible.

Friday many of us have an ADR at 50's for 1:30 and then drinking around the Boardwalk afterward. Let us know and we can share a beverage with the group. Maybe we can even get Paul to buy.

Good luck with the tournament. Wear your long johns.

Oh, come on Fed! Make it happen! I'm finally going to get to go to one of these things and want to meet as many of the Dads as I can. I'll even buy you a drink. Besides, I want you on our side if we have a little too much on the Boardwalk crawl.

And we had some funny white stuff falling from the sky this morning. WTH??
Hmm.... what is this white stuff falling from the sky that you speak of??? Sounds like our winter must be so mild because it all moved south.

I thought you were smarter than that. The Boardwalk is next to water. There's a whole big lake to park your boat. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

I'm sure he can "access" a Disney Captain's costume and float right up to the dock.
