Morning, Gents! Had a great day at the office yesterday. I spent my day at a specialty office, Rheumatology, and was told that the best way to learn was to do the job, which I agree with. First watch a few times, then do. Best way. With two stations at the front, and one receptionist gone for the day, I sat down and started working. By lunch I was pretty much checking patients in and checking them out on my own. There were times when I needed help with something, and the other receptionist was always right there to help assist, but for the most part, I was all on my own and I loved it. Training for a job is both exciting and boring. It's exciting because it's something new, but I hate it because I want to drive right in and get it done and start working and I can't because I don't know what I'm doing. I
That's awesome! Thanks.
Guessing that means it's CCT's birthday.
Happy birthday!
It is, or was, as I type this, my birthday. Thanks.
Thank you.
Happy Birthday CCT
Thank you.
Starting a new job is always fun. And I have never had a bad meal at a hospital. In fact I lived in a town and the best #1 restaurant on Yelp was the hospital’s restaurant. It was a table service joint on one side and counter service on the other. Lots of people had their date night there!
Date night at the hospital. That's funny. Who would have thought.
Why thank you.
Happy birthday CCT. May your employment be permanent, your Dole Whip be frosty, and your plumbing bills reasonable.
Thank you....and I'm working on all that.
This is the kind of fun fact that the internet should have been created for. Well, this, and pictures of ladies.
Cats. Don't forget cats.
Best part for me is when my son was born at that hospital Dad’s meals were free and it was like room service style so you just called and ordered off the menu I think I gained 20 lbs.
Thanks!
I was the most supportive husband ever during my wife's pregnancies. She'd be like, "I gained 15 lbs over the last 3 months," and I'd say, "Hey, me too!"
Came back some time I’m the middle of the night. Don’t know when, just that it woke me up.
And happy birthday. Eat cake. All of it is okay.
Thank you. And don't worry, I'll eat cake...plenty of it.
Training videos and hospital food. One is good. One is easy money. People complain about the food that goes to the rooms, so I guess that is the no salt option maybe.

May I never get put in the hospital where salt on the food is a no no.
Out of curiosity...
Up here cigarettes aren't allowed to be advertised, nor displayed in stores that sell them. And the packages have warnings prominently displayed on them that tell you smoking will kill you.
Is it similar in the US?
And... on the same front. It drives me crazy when I see young people buying them/smoking them. I mean... When my parents smoked they were actually marketed as being good for you. And when I was old enough, they were just beginning to link cigarettes to cancer. I really don't understand how someone could be stupid enough to start smoking now.
TV advertising ended a long time ago for cigarettes. Print ads? Not sure as I don't read a whole lot of magazines, but I don't think they're advertised there either. Camel cigarettes had a really successful campaign where they had Joe Camel, and you could get stuff with points/bought, something like that. They were eventually pressured to stop that campaign because it was getting young kids to pick up smoking....or so people said.
