DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
WDW Top List for today.................. Top 5 Attraction Ques

1. Haunted Mansion (interactive outdoor queue - and awesome "pre-show)

2. Everest - So much crap to look at - well themed.

3. Rise of the Resistance - So much crap to look at - well themed

4. Pirates of the Caribbean - gotta love that smell.

5. Flight of Passage - There's a floating blue alien in a tank!

Nice! Points or Cash?

Points - using points originally used for my canceled Spring Break Trip. Doing a split stay in August (hopefully). 1 Bedroom Boardwalk view - 2 bedroom Bay Lake Tower Theme Park view to finish the week.

. Flight of Passage - There's a floating blue alien in a tank!
I've never seen the Alien in FoP - I've only ever done the FP line or haven't done RotR,

So my 5

1. Haunted Mansion
2. Tower of Terror (and DLP is even better, the thing I'm most gutted about Cali was not doing the Guardians one in DL)
3. Test Track (if you count the config of the car before the "ride")
4. Star Tours
5. Dumbo (for the AC soft play on a hot day)

Wow...just 5.

RotR
SR
HM
EE
FoP

Soooooo many I love, though
ToT
RnRC (I know their shtick way too well)
7DMT
BLY - Just because it's one of my favorite rides
TT (As Dan said, the making of the car)
FEA (Although not my favorite ride, good theming)
PotC
HoP - Nope, not joking. Love reading about the different artifacts and such. Ironic, because I'm not a huge history buff and normally don't like museums (except Air & Space in DC).
TLM - Although I'm not a big fan of the ride, the theming in the queue is well done.

SDD gets honorable mention simply because of all the details they did although I've never been in the standby line, so don't really know how good it is.

The exit of TSMM I think is fabulous.

Sorry, not sorry...way more than 5. ;)

For what it's worth - I was able to snag a Boardwalk view this morning for our upcoming "maybe it'll happen" August trip. First time staying at BWV, so I'm hoping it happens!
Good luck!

Tough one.
Not including ROTR (waiting on that one) or FoP (only done FP)
In no particular order:
EE
PP
TOT
HM
MF:SR

I just saw your Side Signature :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Thanks for pointing that out! :lmao:
Yep. From a lungs and heart point of view. The rest of your body.....well......
True.
When I started... 7 weeks ago? I could barely run a minute. I could do it... but I couldn't wait to stop. Yesterday, while I'm paying for it today, I ran 3K (22 minutes?) and it wasn't too bad (except for the cramp at the end.)

Let's list the litany of pain shall we? Left calf, left hip, right knee, lower back (although that's usually there anyway).
Are you sure running is good for me?

Pretty sure we've established the conclusion by now.

Wow that looks amazing!
Might I suggest this?
Amazon meat slicer
The price is certainly right.

Thanks for the link! I can see where that would definitely have resulted in less profanity this weekend. I'll keep it in mind.

This is true, however, I should have kept it secret. I initially was going to use it to purchase camera equipment/toys, but then decided that vacation came before camera. Now that the future is uncertain as to employment, paying bills trumps all.

Probably a good thing that the secret is out. I don't know of too many people who have kept secrets from their wives and had it end well. :rotfl:

Fingers crossed for you. I'm revising my summer plans as well and still wondering if it's just an academic exercise.

1. Expedition Everest
2. Test Track
3. Peter Pan
4. Haunted Mansion

I just saw your Side Signature :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I feel truly honoured. I'm so getting that on a T shirt for you when we ever meet up.

I was hoping you would notice that. :thumbsup2

Not on homemade. 3 Days is a pretty short cure, did you use one of the kits? I hear ya though, if you can get good bacon, then that's possibly the way to go. I feel the same way about fresh pasta. I can make it, it tastes awesome, but I can pick up a really good bag for about 4 quid from the deli.

I did a wet cure--followed the steps outlined by this guy:
Amazingribs.com

One reason I waited so long to try it was that I was intimidated by the curing process. But that turned out not to be so bad. Anyway, I've used that website for a lot of procedures as I learned. It's been a good resource.

But, yeah. Why spend days in prep when I get something equally good down the street whenever I want?

One more call to go and the day will be over.

Morning Guys!

Unlike Darcy, I've been on the phone all morning with a bunch of Non-government officials. Obviously I'm not nearly as important as he.

Remember, you said it, not me. ;)

Hey, Gents! Hope everyone had a good Monday, I know I did, which was quite the surprise. Yesterday was one of those days where everything just fell into place quite nicely. There was the perfect amount of work, so not over loaded, and the day flew by, so a good day. Unfortunately today isn't such a good day. I've taken the day off of work to attend the funeral of a friend who passed due to renal failure (kidney failure). None of our friends had any idea he had kidney problems, he never mentioned it, so when I heard he was in the hospital due to kidney issues it was quite the shock. The funeral is at 11:00 am at a local cemetery, so it'll be easy to keep social distancing. So have a good day, everyone, and I'll be online throughout the day.

TTFN

Happy Monday Version 2.0. I was up way too early after a rough night of sleep. Already made a dent in the pile on the desk so I'm thinking a nap is on the list later today.

I love naps! My DW knows that when I sit in my chair on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, a nap is not far behind. Enjoy your day, my friend.

Morning all from a wet Douglas, NB.

Was a busy Monday got through some calls, picked up supplies for the office, got a run in and finished watching season 1 of Ozark. I was beat. Today I need to do some more painting in the family room and then go to the office to start getting it ready to re-open. But first, coffee!!

Have a good one all.

How.many groundhog days is this? 60? 60 million?

Morning, gents.

I never said running was good for you.

WDW Top List for today.................. Top 5 Attraction Ques

Kilimanjaro Safari
POTC
Splash Mountain
RnRC
Haunted Mansion

Have you still got your AP or were you getting it this time?
I need to work out if getting out there in January and April its worth my while getting one for me.

That's the plan, but not yet. May 20 is the day we can make FP, so I'm hoping WDW makes a decision soon. I'm already out the cash for dues, Wild Africa Trek, and flights. If we get cancelled and I can get December, then I'll get two trips booked. If I'm only at one trip, then it won't be worth it.
