DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Weirdly, the kids are making me watch HP at the minute. The bit where he flies over the Thames with Moody et al, they are flying west past Canary Wharf, as they then go over Tower bridge and then the Millennium bridge.. Which means that basically, Hogwarts is about 10 minutes from my house. Who knew?

Why do they need to take a train? In my day, we walked to Hogwarts uphill 15 miles through the snow...

The place was about 75-80% male when I was there. The general comment from the women was, "The odds are good but the goods are odd."

Hey! I'm an engineer, and...

...that statement is pretty accurate.

Top O the Mornin and Happy Friday Eve! Boy comes home tomorrow for a couple of days though we have a service to attend for a neighbor who passed a couple of weeks ago. 50 years old, 2 kids in middle school - been battling cancer for the past year. DS works part time for the wife as she owns a Disney travel agency.
Turns out today was a meeting to pitch for my job. Good thing i didn't blow it off and actually had something prepared. There wasn't a timetable, so maybe it's just a ranking when the money runs out.
What's that all about? :confused3
My SIL beat us all:scared1:. She started labour around 11:30 am, although she did not give birth till 1am next day, that beat the 8hrs I worked that day:scratchin. We welcomed :welcome: a baby boy named Luke (Star Wars land is going to be fun:woohoo:):yoda: . My wife and I are once again the Godparents:goodvibes.
Congrats on the family member addition!
Congrats!

Oh, man... to be able to say "Luke.... I am your father.".........
That's great... :rotfl2:

The morning was a blur...
And the afternoon doesn't seem to be lookin' any clearer.

But, this made me snicker...
The general comment from the women was, "The odds are good but the goods are odd."

:lmao:

Ok, that's pretty horrific.

The only bad part about our marriage is she encourages me to eat pizza and drink beer,
But this is a problem we should all have.

Good for y'all and congrats to the new parents.
May the Force be with them.

Congrats!

Oh, man... to be able to say "Luke.... I am your father.".........
You realize that is one of the most mis-quoted lines in all history, right?

Vader: Obi Wan never told you what happened to your father.
Luke: He told me enough, he told me you killed him.
Vader: No, I am your father.

I do a pretty darned good impression of Darth Vader (James Earl Jones) if I do say so myself and I say Luke, I am your father just because that's what so many people quote it as.

VADER IS LUKE'S FATHER???

Well, that's gotta have ruined his day.
Now you've spoiled it for Dan. And he was so looking forward to watching Star Wars. :rotfl2:

I’m now definitely sending Doc his 12 and a half bucks, for giving me a couple of hours of my life back. Anything else happen in the other ones? I watched the one with the underwater thing. I think is was the 4th one, but the first one.

Never tell me the odds.

Luke, I am your Godfather. Bravo.

Gotta love ti when you have to interview for a job you already have.

::yes:: :sad1:

Hmmmmm.....I'm in the chair, Am I?
......

It was your fault that I misspelled the word. I say zerfonics at work when there is a really bad misspelling. No one else gets that one. :lmao:

What's that all about? :confused3
... :rotfl2:

Budget cuts are coming, as the economy is doing so good. :sad2:

One of the complaints was class size being too large. I suggested cutting the class size in half and teaching two different times or same time with two different teachers. The response was that there were NO OPEN ROOMS and faculty's schedule is way too busy. The reason for the CAPS is if you go to any college campus in KY, 75% of classrooms are empty in all buildings at most any time. And, if you have more students and are making more money, then you can afford to hire staff.

Ok, that's pretty horrific.

::yes::
