Morning guys. Today my youngest DS turns 9. He is so excited for this day. It will be the first time in his life that he will have his own birthday cake. I don't think I got him to sleep until after 10

Day four of the rain down here. You’d think it was fall or something.
At least the soil and water table can handle what we’re getting so far. The flash flooding in other areas is just nutty.

Thursday Morning Ownage!

One more week. Can't go by fast enough. I'm finding that the more people I have to tell about the surprise trip....teachers, coaches, family......the less likely it is that the surprise will be pulled off. So far so good. We made plans for departure day locally and DD has invited a few girls to her birthday party that is actually going to be a week later. I told the moms the date was wrong and why so hopefully everything is in place.

I hear ya, after the Disneyland Star Wars 1/2 trip, I've gotta start saving for a non Disney/universal trip in 2016, so no Disney for awhile after that.

I'm not sure I understand the "no Disney" concept. That is Blasphemy.

Wow I have lots of reading to do. Way to long since my last visit! I need to get my butt back in here on a reg basis. However if you all want to take a vote and ban me due to lack of participation I understand( except Randall's vote doesnt count).ZGuess Disney is trying to punish me for not having a trip planned out. My mother in law has 2 trips one in oct and one in dec.Cause she dont have MDE they decided to put all her trips on my account cause she is kinda tied into mine. So now I have to look at all her trips and me having zero.

I do have a serious matter I'd like your input on. Yesterday Peanut came home from school in her spare clothes. Apparently she had an accident at school. She hasn't had an accident in close to two years. After translating five year old we gathered that she tried to tell the teacher but the teacher was talking to another adult and told Peanut to wait. She couldn't hold it and had an accident. I also think the teacher made a bit of a scene when she found out about the accident. The teacher has not sent us an email about it. This is the same teacher whose email about Peanut's bad behavior beat peanut home. Am I right to be a little miffed and should I be talking to the teacher?

I would definitely speak with the teacher. At least to understand why the accident happened and work to prevent it in the future. If indeed the teacher made a scene, then I would address that as well. Hopefully it is one incident and does not need to be addressed again in the future. Tell Peanut she has a few hundreds dads that have her back!

Very brief break for me, but over two days we have had a grand total of 1560 people (students, teachers, parents, workers) though our little Pumpkin Days Extravaganza

Let's see.... 1560 people = thousands of lbs of pumpkin at market rates.....You should be buying at Golden Oaks sooner than expected.

Seriously, thanks for doing what you do. Not many think about it, but where would we be without the farmers in this country.

Yeah, I want to go to DL and see where it all started. But, I can't do air tickets X 4. I always wanted to finish out my tattoo on my arm, but just never did it. Now, I guess I'm too old. I also thought about having tattoos of my dds initials as well.

The airfare is pretty much our barrier as well. The casualty of doing the basement is that I canceled our February Mexico trip this morning. With all the expense, I tried to look for flights today. For the 4 of us, it would have been over $7,000 just for flights. Thats 2 fully paid Disney trips for us. Then another $5,500 for the hotel (all inclusive). By skipping, maybe I can convince her to use the $14-15K savings to start looking at DVC points.

If you're going to be miffed at the teacher, I'd only let it be for making a scene. She probably had no idea what DD wanted- if she did she would have stopped what she was doing. As for the behavior e-mails getting home before DD, that's not unusual. My wife does the same thing. She always tries to get feedback to parents before the kids have a chance to spin it.

I have a few unfinished tattoos as well, and DD initials are always a great tattoo, I have DDs name tattooed on my side, she thinks it's the greatest, she tells all her friends that her daddy has her name tattooed on her.

I've been pondering another tattoo. I'd like something Disney related where I could incorporate my DW and DDs names.

That was a lot of thinking. The pirate code has nothing about the one greenlighting being the one who does the paying. Captain Teague looked it up. Are you going against the code?

Watch out for the sudden stops in the space-time continuum. The sudden stops can leave you meeting yourself coming in and you could end up being your own grandpa (which in KY isn't that hard).

In the grand scheme of things you are absolutely right, But given all of the forum reading, podcasts and blogs, I feel like there should be more of a plan around the all of the tips, tricks and hints. I feel like I've studied for the final exam but am going to show up and forget everything. Then after the test, it's like, "Oh, now I remember that!"
Sometimes simple works. Often when we are going out of town, my mind starts racing about what i could have forgotten and I end up thinking, well as long as I have my wallet. phone and insulin, I'm good to go.

I've been trying to re-read a lot of stuff and jot down notes since, well...my memory isn't what it used to be!

Which is why I can't handle working the long week.

Good point. Don't try to to build up a tolerance. It's not worth the hassle.
