Still in Vegas, still ahead but not as much - as Jim referenced they don't build these palaces by loosing. NFL kickoff at 10:00 am is strange but gave me more time to drown my sorrows after that debacle the Bears gave.

DS had lots of fun but overall the show was a let down. It wasn't busy and some of the exhibitors hadn't shown up yesterday. DS tried the walk wall and was successful on all but the difficult course, used a couple of heavy equipment simulators, tried a virtual reality roller coaster and we both built a potato gun.

He had fun and that's all that matters.
Glad ya did have fun despite not being what you anticipated
Good Morning Guys! A few more days. I've built up the story so that DD does not suspect anything. She thinks we are going to the Dentist on Friday and then to the Topsfield Fair with her grandparents for opening day. That fully explains the grandparents picking her up at school with me(of course they are the ride to the airport). She has asked if she can skip school on her birthday, to which I have replied in horror: Of course not, you know how important school can be.:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2: Then she asked if I will do something special with her on her birthday and I have agreed. 3 more days to keep it hidden and then the surprise shall be released. Wish me luck.

Since we're on the topic of surprise Disney trips (thanks Jim - and good luck with your surprise), here's what we have going on.

October 16th - we fly to Puerto Rico. The kids know this part. The afternoon of the 16th and all day on the 17th, we plan to explore the island - beaches, rain forest, etc.

On the 18th, we get on the Disney Magic for a 3 night repositioning cruise from San Juan, PR to Port Canaveral FL. The kids DON'T know this. They think we're spending all of our vacation in Puerto Rico. The best we've come up with so far is for me to get a call in front of them, have a fictitious conversation within earshot of them about having to cut our time on the island short and having to leave. We pack everything up, head to the port and - voila - there's the ship.

Surprise #2 is having my wife's parents meeting us at the port to whisk us away to Bay Lake Tower for 4 nights.

Surprise #3 is having tickets to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party that evening.

Surprise #4 is on our 3rd day at WDW, meeting some family friends in line at DHS so they kids can all do Jedi Training Academy together. (There son and my son are good friends, and their daughter and my daughter are good friends.)

We're going to try to record the reaction to all of the reveals.

I'm not quite satisfied with our plan for the reveal of the cruise - I just think we can come up with something a little bigger and grander. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.
Good luck to both of you on pulling off your surprises - very cool stuff :thumbsup2

We just ate at the Coral Reef a few days ago, you have to show up early and ask and let them know you wait. Our party was to big but we ate at the end of the night like 8:30 ADR. One of the turtles sleeps with it's butt facing the glass next to a table. I had a good laugh, but was still cool. everyone had left but 3 tables so we walked up and hung out at the glass as we paid the bill at like 9:45.
Thanks for the suggestion. i think we have an early ADR, so maybe being the first round of guests will help us out!

I'm hoping to fly to WDW one trip. Have fun tailgating.

I use PB as well. What I found worked well for me was after the initial post, I would just look at th picture number after I uploaded it. Then, I would reply to my previous picture post and just change the number.
Tailgating was fun. Losing to TB in the last 60 seconds, not so much.:furious:

You are a wise man. Goor logical application of technology with the numbering convention.:thumbsup2

A good day yesterday. Didn't have to worry about the Gators losing another game and watched some pretty interesting games. Unfortunately FSU came back to win but otherwise an entertaining day. Probably going out to a local sports bar for lunch and watch at least part of the Dolphins game there. London, our apologies for foisting both the Dolphins and Oakland on you and passing it off as the NFL. Have a great day guys. At least some pictures. Hey Santa.
Rough weekend for Pittsburgh sports...Pitt loses to Akron, Pirates were knocking on the door for the Central and screwed up and then the Steelers were upset by the TB Bucs. I'm sure to complete the debacle I will lose my FF game based on Tom Brady's performance tonight against KC.

Starting to get that nervous excited feeling knowing only a few more days to go till we are at the world!
33 days out and I ALREADY have that feeling!

New concepts in hearing protection
No worries, I'm sure he looked right down the barrel to make sure it was empty.

Feeling overly stressed. It's the downside of going to WDW in the Fall. Too many things going on at one time. Fall yard work, kids' activities and prepping for the trip. Throw in that thing called work and its enough to drive me nuts.

I started working on our Mickey Mouse tie dye shirts for the trip last night. It's fun to do, but tedious and time consuming. I got all the kids' shirts done last night. I'll see how they turned out tomorrow night.

Two words, snip snip.
Melody just brought this up again yesterday… have you two been talking? :confused3

Sounds like a great way to surprise them! Feel free to buy me a ticket and surprise me too.

I decided to sneak away from work and watch Season 4 of the Walking Dead on Netflix.
You watched the whole season? :rotfl2:

King size bed. No kids. Up late talking? :lmao:
Melody & I slept on the pullout couch. Juliana & Christopher slept in the bed with my mother in law. Gabby was in there too in the pack-n-play. Only thing going on in the living room was cleaning up from the day and packing bags for the next day.

BTW, the couch wasn't horrible but it was a let down after sleeping in the plush king size bed on the Dream. :rolleyes2

I know why you're stressed….. you forgot to add some beer in these plans. :drinking:

Back from tennis tonight. I am hurting. 2.5 höurs may have overdone it. I did get asked to play in an indoor league for this winter, which means no one else was available or I play better than the dead guy. :lmao:

.

Yeah, no stress from work. October isn't the great time as we are limited by school days. This year may be our last fall break as the oldest has basketball tryouts this week and youngest will miss a soccer game next week. Seems like the schools travel for tournaments in Fall Break so th kids don't have to miss school. Idiots. What aböut my Disney Vacation plans? :furious:

:

No, just four episodes. Glad to see that season available. As for the room, congrats on dumping the kids off on the MiL. I can't compare th bed to the one on the dream, but I found them comfy enough.

Glad it was just a cleaning. Wish my visits were only that.

They didn't start out that way. My parents' dentist treated me when I was younger, and I have about 8 cavities. After I got married, I went to my wife's dentist. He does all these crazy procedures - cleaning twice a year, x-rays, some type of gum test - that my other dentist never did. After a rough few first appointments, I am usually pretty good now.

Good morning! I see that I beat my nemesis in Fantasy Football, so what a glorious way to start the day!!

G;ad to see you sticking with it. A friend of ours is a Beachbody master trainer and the DW and I joined one of her challenges. I've been doing T25 workouts which are pretty effective. But I decided to run last night for the first time since my knee surgery. I am def sore today. I fell asleep on the couch last night with the ice pack on my knee.

School is becoming more of a factor for us now tha our oldest is in 4th grades. More homework and standardized testing are making it a challenge. Each year in Nov. there is one week where the kids have 2 days off so we try to got that week. Since we got an AP, we need to get to WDW 2x within 12 months os we have to pick an earlier week next year.

Thanks for all of the ideas, guys!

I turned the game on just before halftime, saw Jamaal Charles was killing it, then realized I left him on my bench. Despite Brady's best effort ensure my defeat, I was able to squeak out a win.

Melody just brought this up again yesterday… have you two been talking? :confused3
Did she "bring it up" or did she "chase you around with a scissors"?

Sounds like a great way to surprise them! Feel free to buy me a ticket and surprise me too.
Well, it wouldn't be a surprise for you, now would it?

I guess we'll find out when they play doubles "Weekend At Bernie's" style.

The plan is to video the reveal. I will need to bring her out to the vehicle and get the camera on quickly. She will be provided with an early birthday present upon entry to the vehicle. I was going to post, but snap bucket is not uploading for some reason. In said package is our magic bands for the trip. I am guessing she will not even need to open the box to figure it out. Video obtained shall be posted when I can.::yes::

Good luck on the surprises! Sounds like a lot of fun.

That would make it more entertaining!:rotfl2:

Good Morning All. DD was not feeling well this morning so I had to convince her to take some medicine and tough it out at school today. Since she is missing 3 days next week, wanted to try to not miss now. Told her to call at lunch time if still not well and we'll go get her.

I don't know, I kind of enjoyed the game.

I'm sure you did. First team to 9-7 wins the AFC East, are you in?

Last night was absolutely horrible.:headache::mad::mad: I'm still trying to figure out how you keep Amendola on the field and then healthy scratch Dobson and Thompkins.:confused3 They traded away one of their top D linemen, the top O lineman and now everyone can't understand why they can't stop the run on D and Brady is a punching bag on offense. Go figure. I just don't understand what they are doing in upper management. Brady should usher in the Garapolo era and go somewhere where they will give him a line and some good players to throw to (not including Edelmann, that dude is awesome!). OK, off the soapbox. Just a little Pi$$ed I stayed up last night to watch that train wreck.

Tuesday Morning Ownage!

So it was your fault Brady played that way?:confused3 Glad he was able to put up monster numbers to help you out.:lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

I am crazy busy as well trying to get everything into the next couple of days before we leave. Nice job on the shirts. We did candy corn colored ones a few years ago when we went. They came out awesome. Good luck getting the rest of the trip ready.

That's how we teach them to keep their heads up while dribbling. Of course we go through a lot of medical supplies.:lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

Morning Guys, is it hump day yet?

Good Morning Darcy!:wave2: You still have those days?:confused3:lmao::rotfl2: Oh, you mean Wednesday.:goodvibes

I just want to clarify - this isn't your "bad idea of the day", right? Because this. is. awesome.

No, no, no…
Good idea of the day.

Its effect on you internal organs might ultimately be bad, but it’s best not to worry about such trivial details.

The heavens have spoken......so let it be......

Amen, brother.
