Congress Park - DTD/ Water view
Springs - Near pool or Near Bus stop or Near Artist Pallate
Paddock - Near Pool
Grandstand - Near Pool

Avoid the Carousel. Fight them to not put you there.

I like CP, especially if you can get that DTD view, even with the construction. Water, restaurants, and boats are cool. If you don't get that view, you still have a private pool and awesome rocking chairs that overlook that area.

Springs has a feature pool as well as the food and boat launch to DTD.

Paddock has another feature pool and great views.

Grandstand is first off bus stop, but is furthest away.

Carousel has nothing, not even a working Carousel. Hope to see you next Saturday or Sunday.

Thanks. We requested Congress Park. We'll see what happens.

Good Morning everybody.

I tried making ADRs this morning for Ryder's 3rd birthday trip in March. I was able to get Ohana dinner for the night of 3/28 (180 days from now), but could not make anything past that, even after putting in my resort confirmation number. So, I called while driving in to work this morning and made 8:00am Crystal Palace breakfast and 7:05 Chef Mickey's for 3/29. Since I was driving, I didn't bother to write down the confirmation numbers since I verified my email address and assumed they would send me the confirmation.
Now I'm sitting here at work with no confirmation numbers, nothing showing up in My Disney Experience, and no confirmation emails.

Anybody know if I can call and get my confirmation numbers from Disney?

When I've called in the past the've been able to give me confirmation numbers for things I've already booked. Granted in those cases I was getting confirmation numbers for activities not for dining reservations.

Yes they will give you the confirmation numbers… I hope you are on hold for 45 minutes to get them. :smokin:

Good Morning Guys! A few more days. I've built up the story so that DD does not suspect anything. She thinks we are going to the Dentist on Friday and then to the Topsfield Fair with her grandparents for opening day. That fully explains the grandparents picking her up at school with me(of course they are the ride to the airport). She has asked if she can skip school on her birthday, to which I have replied in horror: Of course not, you know how important school can be.:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2: Then she asked if I will do something special with her on her birthday and I have agreed. 3 more days to keep it hidden and then the surprise shall be released. Wish me luck.
Sounds like a great plan! You are almost there…. don't spill the beans!

Dentist this AM for cleaning. I can hear them back there deciding how much to find to charge me. :crazy2:

Good luck. Unfortunately my dentist doesn't have to make things up, I think I am putting her kid through college.

I blame our first DVC stay on that…. DW & I were able to stay up late because the kids were asleep in the bedroom and we didn't have to go to bed at 9:30. :rotfl2:

Dinning should have the numbers and then you can manually add them to MDE. Sometimes there is a lag time before it goes into there but since you did not get a confirmation email, I would definitely call to make sure.

I hope you get the reaction that you are looking for. I'm sure she'll be thrilled. Are you going to film the reveal?

Howdy Fellow dads, I know several dads will be going to WDW next weekend, some for ToT 10 miler. Is any of the other ToT dads also doing to 5k? I am and was hoping there was someone to run with. I def hope to meet up with some of you guys Friday or Saturday.

Nope, not running. In Team Sparrow tradition, I promise to have a drink while you are running though.pirate:

Morning guys from Las Vegas. After 1 night of gambling we are up a decent amount but sure this won't last. Not big gamblers but we do enjoy some of the basics and may put a couple of bucks on some of the NFL games. Safe travels to those heading to DaWorld and enjoy the weekend with the families.

May your coffers be overflowing. Wishing you continued good luck. Just remember, they didn't build that place based on the winners.

A good day yesterday. Didn't have to worry about the Gators losing another game and watched some pretty interesting games. Unfortunately FSU came back to win but otherwise an entertaining day. Probably going out to a local sports bar for lunch and watch at least part of the Dolphins game there. London, our apologies for foisting both the Dolphins and Oakland on you and passing it off as the NFL. Have a great day guys. At least some pictures. Hey Santa.

Seriously. Dolphins/Raiders. That a way to promote the NFL guys. At least your Dolphins got a win out of it. Worst game this season so far that I have had the pleasure of watching. Even worse than watching the Pats lose to the Dolphins and that made me throw up in my mouth.

Starting to get that nervous excited feeling knowing only a few more days to go till we are at the world!

I'm with ya. :thumbsup2

Morning guys!

Morning Men, welcome to Monday!

Good Morning David and Darcy.

Yes, I and to do that with our August trip a coupe of times. Just call the reservation number and ask them. DO you have the mobile app? They should show up there, with ressie #'s, within a few hours. Most of mine were added pretty quickly with the exception of 1.

Funny, or not so funny I guess. We had a ressie at Liberty Tavern. We verified it the night before. When we got up in the morning, it disappeared from the app.:headache: Tried to verify at the resort desk and they had no record of it. Checked at Liberty Tree in the morning and they could not find it.:mad: Since they clearly had talked to CJ and didn't want me to eat there, we had Dole Whips and Funnel Cake for lunch instead.:faint:

HA! Joke's on you, Tim. I'm sitting at work. If I spend 45 minutes on hold, it's just less I have to do today!

You mean you actually work on Mondays?:confused3:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Goodness, No. Monday is my "plan an upcoming Disney vacation" day.

So it Tuesday.

And Wednesday.

Thursday, too

By Friday, I'm pretty wiped out, so I just daydream about planning an upcoming Disney vacation.

Update on the ressies - I did call, got the reservation numbers and manually added them to MDE. :thumbsup2

Since we're on the topic of surprise Disney trips (thanks Jim - and good luck with your surprise), here's what we have going on.

October 16th - we fly to Puerto Rico. The kids know this part. The afternoon of the 16th and all day on the 17th, we plan to explore the island - beaches, rain forest, etc.

On the 18th, we get on the Disney Magic for a 3 night repositioning cruise from San Juan, PR to Port Canaveral FL. The kids DON'T know this. They think we're spending all of our vacation in Puerto Rico. The best we've come up with so far is for me to get a call in front of them, have a fictitious conversation within earshot of them about having to cut our time on the island short and having to leave. We pack everything up, head to the port and - voila - there's the ship.

Surprise #2 is having my wife's parents meeting us at the port to whisk us away to Bay Lake Tower for 4 nights.

Surprise #3 is having tickets to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party that evening.

Surprise #4 is on our 3rd day at WDW, meeting some family friends in line at DHS so they kids can all do Jedi Training Academy together. (There son and my son are good friends, and their daughter and my daughter are good friends.)

We're going to try to record the reaction to all of the reveals.

I'm not quite satisfied with our plan for the reveal of the cruise - I just think we can come up with something a little bigger and grander. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.

The plan is to video the reveal. I will need to bring her out to the vehicle and get the camera on quickly. She will be provided with an early birthday present upon entry to the vehicle. I was going to post, but snap bucket is not uploading for some reason. In said package is our magic bands for the trip. I am guessing she will not even need to open the box to figure it out. Video obtained shall be posted when I can.::yes::

Based on the one other time we surprised the kids, we will need to have the sunroof open to prevent a concussion.:lmao::lmao:

Rather than have them think the trip was cut short (with the included worry and emotions related to such an occurrence), just say that you’re going to a move to a different resort (like doing a split stay at D’World). If they ask why, say it’s a chance to see another perspective of the island (that being: shrinking in the distance as you're headed toward Castaway Cay, but they don’t need to know that just yet). This ruse would explain the packing and moving; keep them in a good mood and still leave them surprised as to exactly what kind of resort you’re talking about.

Any way to pack up the stuff without them knowing? Bring it along and when you see the ship, hand them a life preserver and tell them they are going to need it.:lmao::lmao:

Maybe tell them that you rented a boat at the marina. Just forget to tell them it was a REALLY big boat.:confused3

You could always go the crushing dissapointment route in order to make the suprise even better. Tell them "the hotel called and our room was infested with bed bugs. We have to head home now and spend some time in isolation and we'll have to burn any of the toys they brought with"

Wake them up in the morning and tell them they slept through the last couple days of the trip and now it's time to go home.

Tell them your moving to a resort with more of an ocean view.

I decided to sneak away from work and watch Season 4 of the Walking Dead on Netflix.

Glad you got them back. In moving around our ADRs one time by phone, we had a CM cancel the wrong one. They transferred me to a supervisor who was able to code in a reservation for the same time.

I can't imagine how dentists get the bad wrap?

Thanks. We requested Congress Park. We'll see what happens.

Congress Park is our favorite section of SSR. I hope you are able to get a DTD view. If not, it still has some amazing views, short trip to main house, and fourth (I think) on bus stops. I hope you get to time to try out one of those rockers.

You need to tell me about San Juan when you get back. I might be going there next year.

How about telling the kids you got a call from NASA and there is a problem with the International Space Station. They have to fly you up there for a rescue mission.

I like Rob's suggestion that you want to try out a new resort although Ryan's they slept through the last few days of vacation is creative.

No cavities. Just a cleaning. Looking forward to the 7th as well.

Glad it was just a cleaning. Wish my visits were only that.
