Any dads have a root canal done? Or better yet, Dr. Chris, any truth to the alleged heart attack connection to root canals?

3 of them. Still have the broken drill bit sealed in my tooth from the last one. Never again. At my age I'll just have the tooth pulled and live without it.

Really appreciate all this dentist talk considering I am seeing my dentist tomorrow. Thanks guys.

I never understood root canals....seems like they just leave behind a dead tooth.

I'm with the other spelling Shawn. I'm going with the tooth being pulled - cheaper. I'm happy to be drinking my dinner. :drinking1: :lmao:

Morning Dads. Sounds like everyone has great plans for the last day of the weekend. We relaxed yesterday, went to a local park for some exploring, play and a picnic. DDs loved it. Nice sunny, hot enough day here in Calgary. Grilled some brats for dinner (takes about one beer to warm up the BBQ and another one beer to cook. Somehow, no matter what I am cooking that's the "timing"... ;).

That is how I time my cooking on the grill as well. I've thought about doing a turkey on indirect heat in the grill. That way, I could get a lot of beers in.

Top O the morning Dads. Girls took me out to dinner last night - with my credit card. Gonna watch some World Cup and beer can chicken on the grill today. .

That was nice of them. How did the beer can chicken turn out? There are just so many good uses for beer.

Lazy day for me today. Also doing some laundry and watching the world cup matches. Add on a quick trip to the grocery store once I figure out what to have for dinner. Maybe something Disney related. Any ideas?

DW did a BBQ chicken in the crock pot while we went to Mass. If I could get fresh seafood, then that is what I would eat most every day.

Paul, I was told you are scared of Canadians and will not be joining us for the ball game. You do know I will not be bringing any penguins right? :lmao:

I don't trust that...

Seriously though, I can't make it due to work... Not happy about it!

I had one done after I cracked a tooth in rugby. Wasn't bad at all, just boring.

Holy cow…. I can't believe this thread is still going. I just got through a crazzzzzzzy 6 weeks and I'm finally coming up for a breath. I hope everyone has been well. I should be showing my face around here a bit more now. :surfweb:

Evening and good night, gents.
I had a productive social and yard work weekend. I'll sleep very well tonight, that's for sure. Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.

All the dental discussions...while I can check off a number of ailments, my teeth are good. 39 with no cavities and still have all of my wisdom teeth <insert obvious jokes here>.

Had one of those eye-popping moments when I went to pay our Disney Chase card...
$1,200 for airfare
$260 for the MVMCP
$1,500 down payment for the points we added on to DVC.
:scared1:

Morning, men. Hope this Monday finds you well and you have the strength to power through another work week...or if you are on vacation, I hope that you find each day seems longer than the one before!:thumbsup2

Morning guys. One if the twins was in the comp last night and I asked what she was doing. She said "planning next years trip". The force is strong with this one :)

Welcome back! I had a similar hiatus.
It's just like a day time soap opera...you can get caught up with all the plots in no time at all. :thumbsup2

Welcome back. How many times did you play the chicken dance in those 6 weeks?

Those are scary moments, especially after returning from the WDW vacation.

A three day week for me. Last day of fiscal year and I already put in all my work hours for the year. Including all those holidays, I did manage 3 months of paid leave for the year.

Planning next year's trip to where?

First official day of vacation!:banana:

Glad to hear that mean old company president finally gave you a vacation. Enjoy. :thumbsup2

Morning Everyone.

Back at work today after having my gallbladder yanked out on Thursday. Doc made a little cut in my belly button, puffed me up like a balloon with CO2 and sent the robots in after that little bugger. Laid around the hospital for a few hours, then convinced the nurse I was healthy enough to go home that evening. Feeling better every day since, but I'm still on a 10 lb lifting restriction until my follow up appt next week. 30 lb DS is not very happy about that situation.

In other news, I'm "on call" for jury duty this week. I have to call in every night after 6 to see if I'm needed the next day. One day down, three to go. I'm banking on the fact that no one wants to start a new trial the week of July 4th.

You mean someone who's been missing in the Congo for 20 years will mysteriously show up at my door? :rotfl:

I'm sure it will take a few days to figure out what everyone is talking about… feel free to fill me in if there is anything important. popcorn::

That's nice! :lmao:
Yes that is nice!

Welcome back. How many times did you play the chicken dance in those 6 weeks?
Luckily not too often. But I did break it out when the kids decided to have a twerking contest. :badpc:

Also, I didn't forget about you Norm…. I'll let you know when I ship. :cool2:

Glad to hear you're on the up and up… You're running out of excuses to come to the East Coast. What's next? You gonna tell us you loved gold so much you even lost your genitaliens in an unfortunate smelting accident?

Agreed. Not that big a deal for me. It just takes a long time. But my dentist has TVs in there so I had that going for me.

Good morning. Busy week ahead. County fair time around here and we're in the middle of wheat harvest at work. Thankfully we're heading to Gatlinburg in 2 weeks. It can't get here soon enough!

Happy Monday, Dads.
We got back from a non-Disney vacation a week ago, and we're just about recovered. I hope everybody's doing well, even the ones going to the dentist... :scared1:

Good day Dads. A bit late this morning as Doc wants to do some blood work so had to go give a tube or so first thing this morning. Sounds like a nice weekend had by most and a short work week for most as well.

That was nice of them. How did the beer can chicken turn out? There are just so many good uses for beer.
Real well. I'm not a big chicken guy unless it is fried but I guess I have mastered the beer can method as the rest of the family including the in-laws loved it.

Good to hear it went well and you are back and at 'em. Hard to imagine Rafiki not being able to hold up young ones

Been there a couple of times, are you renting a cabin or staying at a hotel?

Cabin. We go every other year with DW's parents and siblings and their families. We always get a big cabin so everybody has their own bedroom. Always a good time. :thumbsup2
