So, I booked the Holiday Inn using my free points. I figured I would walk my family to the concert, drink with Mike and Philip, walk my family back to apartment, and then drive home tomorrow. A fun concert for dd's 10th birthday and avoid Nashville traffic.

We checked in before 3, got a room, and were able to let the dds swim for awhile. When we first arrived poolside, there were 5 other women sitting there. By the time we went upstairs to shower, the pool area was filled with girls - teens, 20s, 30s, +. I was the only guy out there. I like Katy Perry for the obvious reason, or perhaps two obvious reasons -:goodvibes:goodvibes- but not going to a concert. C'mon sports bar.

I sent in my annual joke - see you next year - to my boss. I'm off until Tuesday, using up my already worked time.

Sounds like you are living the CJ life already without the $$$ and the close access to the World.

Enjoy and need a picture of the meet or it didn't happen.

Been away for a couple days trying to catch up.

Happy birthday.
Hope you get better soon
Congratulations.
You owe me a beer.
Think that covers everything.

You escaped the Group of Death, what are you doing next?
I'm goin to Disney World!!

Can't believe it took two days for someone to say it.

I move for this to be the official office supply weapon of the DisDads..
.

Sounds like a plan except I don't have clothes pins at my office.

Mike, Philip, and I at Sportsgrille in Nashville. Another successful Disdad meet in the books.

Hey fellas. Good day today for me. I work as legal counsel for an engineering and construction company. Industry standard (eng & construction not legal) up here is to work 9hr days M-Th in order to allow every second Friday off (the other Friday is an 8 hour day) and it works out to 80 hrs every 2 weeks. Entire office is closed on the "PDO" Fridays.

This means I usually get a long Honey-Do list. Today it was car maintenance. Regular service for the car and then I got to pick out new tires.

It also meant that I got to ride my bicycle, home and back to the dealership/tire store and some other riding. Love getting that exercise. Too infrequent.

Draft day for the NHL and the Flames picked 4th so that was good.

Missing the World, and desperately scheming in order to get into DVC. But, we are also looking at a house purchase soon. So, likely DVC will have to wait. Ah well.

DDs are doing well, the 22 month old is really becoming quite the character. She gets a huge kick out of my Cookie Monster impression. Our 5yo is really challenging us now. She's an absolute angel at school and to anyone who babysits for us, but is sometimes very nasty to DW and me. Patience, prayer and love.

Calgary Stampede starts in less than 2 weeks. Can't wait! The entire city really gets into it. Gotta go out and get some new cowboy boots tomorrow.

Take care and be well Dads!

Rob

Morning guys and happy weekend,

A couple of observations at 4 am - It is quiet outside except for the peacocks (yes we have peacocks in the neighborhood) declaring their territory and TV is really bad. No I do not want a Ninja blender that will turn steel bars into a desert topping.

Just found out I can get a nutribullet for six payments of $19.99 and if I call right now, I can get another one FREE plus shipping and handling. Such a deal. You know if you use the nutribullet to grind up broccoli and a little bit of water, it can prevent prostate issues? Wow amazing stuff who is in with me?

I need a life.

Good morning from Nashville, while the family sleeps soundly. I am unable to get past my morning wake up time. They had a great time at the Katy Perry concert, and I had a great time with Mike and Philip at the Sportsgrille. They were terribly slow in getting the NHL draft on the tv, but I enjoyed the evening talking Disney, soccer, women, family, work, and everything else in between.

Mike and Philip, thank you so much for taking time out of your schedules to hang with me. Mike, thanks for the drinks.

Not sleeping again. Does diving help you sleep? Maybe it's time for a permanent vacation and dive everyday. Or, instead of buying a blender, there's something else you could buy (not on a payment plan) that could help you sleep. :confused3

You don't have clothespins at your office? You must be actually working then. Time to stop those shenanigans.

Missing the World, and desperately scheming in order to get into DVC. But, we are also looking at a house purchase soon. So, likely DVC will have to wait. Ah well.

It's nice to have those Fridays off, but those long days are difficult. I won't insert any lawyer jokes this morning because the beer fog hasn't quite lifted from last night.

As for DVC, unless you are just really wanting the Grand Floridean or Poly as your home resort and can buy there direct when pricing is first announced, then consider resale. Since you're in home down payment savings plan mode, just add some more for a DVC purchase.

Do you feel smarter this morning after sleeping at a Holiday Inn last night?

Someday I'm going to get there for the Stampede. I've got a good friend out there who tells me it is quite the party.

Good morning guys. Hope everyone is having a saturday that does not have work involved like mine.. but 3 days off is in my future then I think I work for 3 days and have off 3 more. Still don't have exact dates of when I leave so it feels like purgatory just waiting to leave so I can get back.

That being said if any Dad's live near Norfolk let me know and if I have time maybe we can meet up.

In the world, pixie dust helps me walk those distances. I'll be beer powered tomorrow.

That is a fair point. How did the beer power work for you?

So far so good. The kids are getting used to the house, rules and schedule. Being in country six weeks helped establish two of those. English will take time, but they all try to learn. I'm on to looking for a vehicle that will hold us all, and is affordable.

That's great. Good luck on finding a car. I cant think of anything that would fit 8 comfortable. I drove an Enclave but even with the back row it only fit 7 total. Maybe like a Highlander or Tahoe? It might have to be a minivan or a actual van.

Good morning fellow dads, hope all is well. I really enjoyed the meet up with Norm and Mike. Was our first time meeting Mike, really nice and funny guy. Ended up being a really great night of laughs and like Norm said a lot of diff topics. As more of a Disney rookie, it's always cool hearing dos and dont's of Disney from veterans point of view. Thank you again Mike for the food and drinks, that was way to generous. Norm, have a safe trip back! And look forward to seeing you and your family in Oct. Mike, I am glad we didn't get in an all out Preds/Hawks hockey fight at the Sports Grille, maybe we can catch a game this season.

Looking forward to Norms reply to this lol. I'm sure he did just fine, None of us were stumbling though.

Good morning Dads. 3 weeks til DaWorld and 3 days til 180 day window for Christmas / New Years trip. Need to play those numbers today.

CJ hope ya get some sleep and all have a good weekend.

Norm and Phillip pretty much covered it and as expected 2 great guys and Dads. Lots of laughs including a sports bar taking over an hour to find the NHL Draft on TV but the conversation and comradery was a great time. Safe travel back home Norm and Phillip enjoy the weekend with your little princess.

You need to get Netflix for those kinda nights. I binge watch entire seasons of shows. Star Wars Clone Wars is on there now

Morning, men. I'm up and about to start on all my yard work so that I can hit a BBQ later with some work buddies. Have to fix my firewood rack that was overfilled with wood and on a sloping hill. An engineer I am not! Then it's on to a lot digging for shrubs and other stuff. It's supposed to be mid 80's. I'm sure I'll be exhausted tonight.

It's a beautiful thing when all is going well! I cherish those times.

Coincidentally, my wife just bought a nutribullet from Kohl's b\c our single size blender bit the dust. We use it daily for protein shakes int he morning, so it gets super abused!

That's right...just add a few $$ on to the mortgage. It'll be cheaper now than later to buy into DVC, through Disney or resale. Think of it a money being saved.:thumbsup2

Do you feel smarter this morning after sleeping at a Holiday Inn last night?

If I get any smarter, I could stop time with my mind. :teacher:

That is a fair point. How did the beer power work for you?
.

Beer power worked great. I had a margarita and land shark draft at Margaritaville, and Makers Mark & yuengling draft at the Sportsgrille.

Good morning fellow dads, hope all is well. I really enjoyed the meet up with Norm and Mike. Was our first time meeting Mike, really nice and funny guy. Ended up being a really great night of laughs and like Norm said a lot of diff topics. .

It's been awhile since I drank that much, but I still powered thru. Hope I didn't bore you guys too much. I know a little about nothing and share it freely.

Will do and thanks again. Breakfast done and packed up. Now it's time for the 2nd day of this birthday celebration - shopping at Opry Mills Mall with DW and both dds. :scared1:  :scared1:  :scared1:

Maybe I can talk them into seeing a movie. popcorn::

Yep, agreed. Another angle/thought is that any money we will "spend" now saving for the next trip could go into a DVC fund.

Have a great Saturday Dads!

Sounds like the typical Dad life. I love a rodeo. The local volunteer fire department back home has had the longest consecutive rodeo east of the Mississippi as a fund raiser. 70 years this year.

I'm almost at the point of needing new boots myself. The Mason boots that I have had since about 1982 are almost beyond repair...not much left to put a new sole on. If the next pair hold up as well as these, it will be the last pair I ever need.

Insomnia is no fun. Wish you could find something to help with. If not you might get a paper route and earn some extra bucks in case the Pirate Princess Pirate Crash ever starts thinking about getting hitched.

...Sounds like a plan except I don't have clothes pins at my office.

I thought it was just me. I do have an air compressor and various other shop equipment so I may be able to come up with something else.

You really need to change the channel when those late night infomercials come on. :lmao:

Back in the day, Jack Lalane would be on telling us all to exercise at that hour.
