We interrupt our normally scheduled "Monday Sucks" post with breaking news...

Due to the 3 days weekend, this week we will have "Tuesday Sucks." Carry on.

We had a great, but very busy, weekend. Drove up to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The rangers said spring was running about 3 weeks behind schedule, and it was evident by the ice still on Lake Superior. But life isn't a spectator sport, so we rolled up the pants and decided to conquer an iceberg!

Believe it or not, stepping off the ice and into the ice-cold water actually felt warm. Well, warmer than standing on a giant block of ice, anyway.

Very cool Barry!

it's about a 12-13 hr drive, it's been about 12 years since I've done that drive.
I wanted to drive to Disney World; a road trip sounded fun to me. I thought we could see the country, and save a lot of money by not buying airline tickets or renting a car. My wife did not like the idea of 2-3 days in a car. She settled the discussion (argument) by buying non-refundable airline tickets.
My wife sure knows how to win an argument.

Lol well that's kind of how my mom is/was. Once she flew, it was all over, if a trip took longer then 4 hrs, she either wouldn't go or we flew. I love flying so after these points are gone, I gotta compare the cost. DD and myself still would be that bad but hoping to add someone eventually lol.

That's one way to settle an argument.

You drive about the same as me. It's about 13-14 hours, depending on traffic or # of stops.

Not bad at all, so it won't kill me to drive it, and it'll mean longer trips! No way am I driving down for my usual quick long weekend trips.

Better then our 22 hour trip to WDW. DL would take a week... I like the road trips anyways.

The last time we flew was to CA for a work conference, did manage to sneak in DL, but it was a very bumpy ride on the way out and the way back. So bumpy that it put the fear of GOD right into us and have no desire to fly anytime soon.

In one week from today I will be making my 12 hour trip to Orlando. The only Disney we will do is DTD, but we will be having fun at Nick Hotel and LEGOLAND.

Will you share how you sneak into DL? Hop the fence? Get Barry to moon the entrance CMs? :lmao:

Have a great trip to WDW and safe travels.

Have a great trip. I wish we could drive to WDW in 12 hours, we would be going much more often.

‘Morning all…

Ok, I got nothing else after that at this point, but may the rest of the day be as good as it can be.

Brilliant! Why has this tactic not yet been implemented?
:rotfl2:

I am just shaking my head. There is a saying in the South that sums it up I think, "Bless his Heart." Usually a response to, "Hey, watch this."
The water is crystal clear, CJ. Perfect for diving. Plenty of shipwrecks to explore. Come on, isn't tropical waters and sea turtles getting a little boring? Pack up the gear and head north!

Very cool Barry!
No. Very, very cold.

It seems like a good idea, but trust me, there will be lots of collateral damage.

Morning guys.

Same. I've tried to convince the wife that a road trip would be fun, but she's not having it. At least not while the kids are both still really young...

Well I may be changing my Jan WDW 1/2 and DDCC trip. With the announcement of the Star Wars Rebel Challenge (10k and 1/2) at DL a week after the WDW marathon weekend, I gotta decide which to do and I'm leaning toward Star Wars right now, I guess it'll depend on if I can get registered for the Rebel Challenge before it sells out.
. They like to throw wrenches in my Disney plans lol, it was going to be a combo weekend and also celebrate DDs birthday and she's been begging to go to DL so I might just have to switch.

We plan to visit DL at some point, but so far has not been in the cards. DW uncle lives out there about an hour or so away. Maybe someday, but he flights are very expensive.

It is tougher when it comes to flying, after these trips all my airline points will be wiped out so it'll be driving for us soon.

Using all my remaining flight points and Disney points for the October trip. Time to start saving up again. Too long of a drive for us to go to WDW or DL. 23 hours is too much. We will drive if something is 10 hours or closer.

Flyers? Are they a team in the AHL?

:lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

Welcome back.

We're counting down the days until we leave. We are taking the train in from Portland the morning of July 2nd so we should be in downtown Boston around 10:30 am and we are staying at a hotel called Club Quarters.

As for the bet I think Sox tickets will do.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I don't think anyone I know has ever stayed there. It's close to a lot of the sights.

Welcome back. Stop working so much...

Let's try and fund a time to do lunch soon. I'll def take that ticket off your hands for the game, you know, if I have to... ;)

Looking forward to it! :thumbsup2

2 tickets so you get to bring a friend or family member. Total of 8, Darcy has 6 reserved. The beer you'll have to work out with him.:lmao:

For the first time in a long time, I am...all caught up at work! Boss left me alone for the most part so I could get caught up. And I did. Quite happy with myself. Of course I'm not back in till Thursday, and will likely fall behind again, but for now, I can bask in my glory!:rotfl2:

Since your caught up, drive on down here. I've got plenty of things for you to do.

Yes, she does. Of course the one that loses that argument is the checkbook.:lmao::lmao:

We have a new Legoland attraction around here. Not an amusement park though. There are a couple of small kids rides, but mostly just Lego structures and designs. They have one of Boston and Logan Airport. The accuracy and design are beyond awesome! Pretty sure that is all it will be. There is no real estate to expand in that area.

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

If it were only 12 hours, I am thinking we would have annual passes and be there just about every weekend. At least until I ran out of $$.
