Good morning guys, sounds like all had a nice relaxing extended weekend - except of course us Blackhawk fans -what the .............. Have a good one fellas.

Morning guys. Back to the old grind today. Thank goodness for FaceTime and Skype! It has helped the kids deal with me be going gone.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day!
Glad you are back home safe.

1.5 hours of no network. Getting lots of work done.

‘Morning all…
For me, is not an issue any more. The university term ended the second week of May.

I think it is a a State law and not a Federal law... It is all about funding though. Plus, it is in the teacher's contract that we work a certain number of days. We seem to become overpriced babysitters the last week of the year.

I'm just extra grumpy. The 3 day weekend included in-laws encounter.

We had a great, but very busy, weekend. Drove up to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The rangers said spring was running about 3 weeks behind schedule, and it was evident by the ice still on Lake Superior. But life isn't a spectator sport, so we rolled up the pants and decided to conquer an .

Since Spring is 3 weeks behind, will the local Sconnie government be issuing summer make up days? Maybe send everyone a heater or install giant domes over each city to create summer temps? :lmao:

Believe it or not, stepping off the ice and into the ice-cold water actually felt warm. Well, warmer than standing on a giant block of ice, anyway.

You're not doing vacation right until you risk a little frostbite, anyway!

Very cool experience there.
My, my but Madison is getting big. They grow up mighty quick don’t they.

::yes:: Can't believe how much she's grown.

So you figured out what frozen things do in summer. Does that make you a Happy Snowman?

:rotfl::rotfl2:

This is how we Flyer fans feel all the time.

Well played sir!

I'm just extra grumpy. The 3 day weekend included in-laws encounter.
Yikes! :scared:
You have much reason to be grumpy then.

:rotfl2: Now, that… is funny.
And topical too :rotfl:

The harsh price of allegiance.
Fair weather fans know not, these hardships.

Nah, that's Michigan's problem. Spring is right on schedule here in Southeast Wisconsin. Evan's first baseball game is Thursday, with temps in the upper 60s. :thumbsup2

Frostbite is temporary, memories are forever!

What's that? Frostbite is permanent, too? Excellent - more memories!

::yes:: Can't believe how much she's grown.
I can. I'm the one buying new clothes every year.

Been away for a while. Hope all are well. Prayers to those in need, congratulations where deserved and well wishes all around. Special congrats to David on the successful expansion of the family!

Well work has been insanely busy, was in Amsterdam and New York over the last week and a half and now playing catch up. Year end here is June so trying to get ready for that. Inventory still needs to be done. Tax projections and payrolls were not done while I was away. And baseball, softball and basketball are all basically heading into the second half of the season or playoffs. Basically I have about 12 minutes per day to actually stop running around like Chicken Little screaming the sky is falling.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Softball season coming up and we have tryouts this weekend. Still not sure how to make a clone so I can be in two places at once, but DS is working on it.:thumbsup2

I'll try to take a few minutes here and there to look back and see if I missed anything.

Darcy - I hope you are still good for July. I cannot go, but Paul has graciously volunteered to drink all the beer you planned to buy me. We also need to settle on that little bet. Let me know what you may want from out wondrous area.

Paul - Please confirm you are Ok to go with Darcy and guests to the game on 7/2. We'll meet for lunch that day and I'll bring the tickets unless we find time to get together sooner. Hope the job is going well.

Randall - Well, penguins stink.:lmao::lmao:

CJ - Looks like Miami is going to be headed back to the finals. While I never really liked LeBron (still can't quite explain it), I do like Wade and wish him luck on a 4th title run. I'm sure you missed my absence like a headache.

To all others, hello again.

Looks good... did you save enough for the rest of us? :confused3

Silly Paul!

I've waited long enough...

... So, was it Freezin Rafiki?

Silly Jim, penguins are, so, Last Year!

They can always sew the toes back on the foot (POTC - At World's End)
Memories and a cool scar. :thumbsup2

You know Normie, we have a saying at the post office "we get less done all day than most people do before 9am"
Sounds like you on track to join us.

:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

What was that line from Patty and Selma from the Simpsons, working at the DMV?

Patty: At the DMV, there are days we don't let the lines move at all.
Selma: Those are called weekdays.

Once again Cliff, I should have consulted you for a little known fact of wisdom. And, I'll apply it now. Since the posting on my phone has run down the battery, I'll go home early to re-charge it.

Your initial thought would be that it is, right? I mean, stepping into Lake Superior with huge chunks of ice float in it, then stepping onto one of those chunks of ice would logically seem to be cold, right? Of course it was, let's not be silly. Stepping back into the water felt warmer - for a bit. Running back to the beach, to dig your feet into the sun drenched sand was heavenly.

Well I may be changing my Jan WDW 1/2 and DDCC trip. With the announcement of the Star Wars Rebel Challenge (10k and 1/2) at DL a week after the WDW marathon weekend, I gotta decide which to do and I'm leaning toward Star Wars right now, I guess it'll depend on if I can get registered for the Rebel Challenge before it sells out.
. They like to throw wrenches in my Disney plans lol, it was going to be a combo weekend and also celebrate DDs birthday and she's been begging to go to DL so I might just have to switch.

Yes, you were missed I guess, maybe. Great win last night for the Heat. Indiana just did not look into the game after the 3rd quarter. Sorry to all you Hoosiers out there.

I am just shaking my head. There is a saying in the South that sums it up I think, "Bless his Heart." Usually a response to, "Hey, watch this."

I'll make it to DL one day, but that day will be X2 for plane tickets instead of X4. Same for Aulani. Unless I win the lotto.

It is tougher when it comes to flying, after these trips all my airline points will be wiped out so it'll be driving for us soon.

I thought you were facetiming some of the Dads there for a minute. :lmao:

Welcome back.

We're counting down the days until we leave. We are taking the train in from Portland the morning of July 2nd so we should be in downtown Boston around 10:30 am and we are staying at a hotel called Club Quarters.

As for the bet I think Sox tickets will do.

Welcome back. Stop working so much...

Let's try and fund a time to do lunch soon. I'll def take that ticket off your hands for the game, you know, if I have to... ;)

Looking forward to it! :thumbsup2

Never stayed there, but the location is great. Easy walk to Fanueil Hall, Waterfront, or the common. Well done. :thumbsup2

I think it was picked because it was easy to get to from the North Station and not too far from the cruise port. Those other things are good to know as we will have all day on the 3rd to look around.

For the first time in a long time, I am...all caught up at work! Boss left me alone for the most part so I could get caught up. And I did. Quite happy with myself. Of course I'm not back in till Thursday, and will likely fall behind again, but for now, I can bask in my glory!:rotfl2:

That's my point. I think there is some rule about getting Federal tax money based on student attendance. So, even though the schools sent an email stating they will be providing child care only this week, that doesn't exempt them from getting money.

Man, you Americans are so funny at times :rotfl2:

Same here. We only had to make up 4 snow days because of the others 'built in' to the calendar. My question is always if they don't use the snow days, then do they get out early? Answer is no.

I have no idea if we have snow make-up days, we hardly ever see them anymore

I had to hold down oldest dd for shots. Mine is such a drama queen for anything like that.

Oldest starts crying and freaking out every time a needle rears its ugly head. Youngest doesn't flinch. Same with medicine come to think about it.

To all others, hello again.

If you don't mind that I ask, how long a drive is it for you?

Flyers? Are they a team in the AHL?

I think they are the team still looking to replace Ron Hextall in the net
