Hey all. Got a text or two asking if all is ok, and that someone asked about me here. So here I am lol. Go back to docs tonights for check up. Had pains in the legs a little and one case where i had a little chest pain today so will let the doc know. Other then that life is kicking my ***!! just one thing after another! Daughter had fender bender cost me $350.Truck broke down cost me $950. Taxes!!! Dog got real sick cost me $1100 for a weeks stay in the doggie hosp. Daughter ruptured her ear drum (in the shower)???? Got the bill for my co pay for my hospital stay. Van is in shop and needs 1k worth of work. New fridge is leaking water into the freezer some how I cant figure it out (so have to deal with the stupid *** warranty people).Last big rain storm water leaked into the house and ruined wall in the kitchen( now I need to repair).Having problems with work(yes even being your own boss you get problems) But on the brighter side my daughter did look gorgeous in her prom gown! so that made me smile and happy. I also get to watch the kids play ball and enjoy it!! so hell life cant be to bad! Now after all that I am sure most of you want me to go away so I dont ring this black cloud your way!!!
Wow, I thought I was having a bad month...
It is always great to have family around to lighten things up. Money comes and goes, but good memories last!

Thursday afternoon ownage. Dance and choir tonite. Just when I thought we couldn't fit anything else into the schedule, oldest dd tried out and made the swim team again. She swam one year, and stopped to continue dance. Since she didn't make the dance company last year, but still did dance lessons (I don't know how that works other than its money blood suckers), she wanted to go back to swim. I'm hoping dance is done. She is a good swimmer. You figured out my plan for every work day. Yikes. I would say that would be quite a 3 weeks. Hope the recovery is going well. Being able to work from home is always a good thing. You couldn't move fast enough to get in front on LeBron to take a charge. That doesn't sound like much a defensive specialist. I can guarantee LeBron would not score against me on days we weren't playing a basketball game. :stir: :lmao:

Don't be so sure, I'm fat boy quick

Carl, praying things start to turn around for the better.

Morning guys. I need some clarification. If Disney is offering free dining, can you rent DVC points and still take advantage of that offer or do you have to book the room through Disney?

Thanks!

I don't think free dining applies to DVC... Disney doesn't need people to occupy the rooms to make money on DVC.
The offer does not apply to all resorts and the rooms are limited.
I can't say that I have ever tried to rent DVC though. We are going through Disney to get our two bedroom at Old Key West. My wife is purposely neglecting to tell me how much the week is costing. :-) I do know we did get a discount however...

That's what I thought. MIL emailed last night that my BIL got free dining with renting DVC points. Before I told her she is looney, I wanted to get my facts straight. When we rented points in. 2011 we did not qualify for free dining.

He could have done what I did and went to Disney to book a room at a DVC property, but paid rack rate minus discount for the room.
We were afraid to try to rent points. We would rather pay more for the flexibility. (We started with a family suite at the Art of Animation, but one thing led to another...)

That's def how it's starts, first trip with DD stayed at AoA little mermaid, then rented DVC at BLT and the rest is history. Next 2 trips SSR rental and AKV rental. Planning on eventually staying at all DVC resorts.

Renting points from someone at their church so I know he did not go through Disney. He makes up stuff all the time.

One doesn't rent DVC points from WDW. As already posted, he could have purchased a stay thru WDW for a villas room at a substantial price and then received the free dining. The DVC points owner would have received the FD, and that has never been offered since I purchased in 2008.

Sounds like a bunch of Beverly. Hope things get better soon. :thumbsup2

Received an email from Disney last night that promotes the upcoming Cinderella movie next year. Seriously? A spinning glass slipper? I think they really fell short on this one. If I had been an imagineer and came up with this I think I would have been looking for a new job. :rotfl2:

Totally Safe For Work:
Cinderella Trailer (if you want to call it that)

That's exactly what I was thinking. I'll sit back and watch this "trip" never happen.

On the other hand I got up super early since the sun rises at a little after 4am and started to price a trip next year. Our only real option is to rent points. I don't think renting two rooms at POP adds much value since we would have to buy all of our meals in the park.

I was thinking with a. 2 BR we could do breakfast on park days in the room. We would follow Norms schedule of one day in park, the next day at the resort. Our new kids have never been to a shopping mall, let alone an amusement park. It's all a wish right now, but maybe in a year or two we can all go.

Morning guys

Ok, I hate both the Rangers and Penguins but couldn't stop laughing at this. Thought the hockey fans here would get a kick out of it. Sorry, Penguins fans.

When it rains.....wow. Priority is getting your health up, the rest will follow. Good luck and Prayers Carl.

This is were really doing the math will help. Depending on your flexability on the time of year you plan to go, it might be cheaper to pack rack rate for 2 rooms at POP with Free dining, then renting enough points for a 2 bedroom, then adding in the cost of meals

Good luck with the adaption! :thumbsup2

Saw that last night myself. At ten months out, I wonder if they have even wrapped up filming. Should be interesting though.

I hope your trip is going well David. I can only imagine the excitement that you ALL have about coming home, then that first Disney Vacation. :thumbsup2

Alexandra will be swimming again this year as well. Try outs are next week and she should make the team. Dance is over next week. Final rehearsal and performances Wednesday through Friday.

The last time we saw this many things happen at once Paul was poking the CJ voodoo doll.:faint:

Prayers that the dark cloud goes away and things improve quickly. I find that watching the kids tends to put a lot into perspective. No need to go away, that's what we are here for. Sit down, relax and have some bacon!

We have friends with DVC going in October and they mentioned that the were not eligible for FD. I would assume the same goes if you are renting.

OKW is a nice resort, but not knowing the cost beats having a heart attack when DW tells you how much it is. The booking for DD and I at CR in October was just as much as our whole August trip (2 days longer, 4 people vs. 2 and tickets) just for the room. It is DD birthday and our last fall trip for a while so we figured it was worth it.

Have you learned nothing from these boards. Of course MIL is crazy, but your not supposed to tell her that.:lmao::lmao:

Hmmmm. I know DD is excited for the new Maleficent coming this month. I'm guessing if you were an imagineer, all the ideas would be kick a$$!

Good morning gents, have a great Friday and even better weekend and send the positive thoughts and good vibes Carl's way.

They call that a teaser trailer.

It's more to just get the word out that they are making a new Cinderella movie.

But I agree.... It kinda sucked! ;)

I think you are missing the main plot point that the trailer showed...
The butterfly turned to glass when it touched the slipper!
I think they are going for a whole new type of Cinderella story!
By the way, I am just kidding. They could have shown something in the teaser trailer! A couple of words spoken by a mouse to show us the direction the film maker is taking would have been nice.
