I guess there is still hope SWMBO will change your mind and make you head to the beach earlier.

Nope, we have an accord, if the days are still there for me to book in a couple hours. We'll do WHW, but cancel the Captain's Grille ADR. We'll leave after WHW to go to Vero Beach. If that doesn't work for your schedule, then we will just try another time in the future.

Talked to DW and the embassy appointment went well. The visas for the kids will be ready tomorrow. That means my family is coming home on Sunday!!!

Congratulations! That will be a great Father's Day in the Duck house!

My son got me a nerf gun with a "laser" sight. Do I come in second?

I am sure it would be a cooler gift than what I get.

30 years ago, I was in elementary school.

Ok, I'll get in this... 30 years ago I was in pre-school... The good old days.

30 years ago, I was in elementary school.

Thirty years ago I was in college back when the legal drinking age was 18 and had never turned on a computer.

30 years ago I had just finished my second party year at university. I do remember taking a fortran course and using punch cards to create the program.

I had friends that took Fortran, and Pascal, and all that other computer stuff. I had no desire to spend my days stuck in an office so went the science root, and now I spend most of my days stuck in an office on a computer without the big money. Given my track record I shouldn't be advising DS and DD on what to do with their lives, but I am still pushing for electrician and plumber. They can work anywhere for themselves and would make more than I make after 9 years of college and a post-doc.

30 Years ago I was getting ready for Sr Year of HS - I knew I was on of the older guys around here based on kids age and after meet with pup Chris but some of you guys are killin me today.

I started in science but I didn't last very long. I had planned on going to dental school but I didn't see my marks in science getting to the appropriate level and I didn't want to spend my life in a lab. When I switched to business admin, fortran was the required computer language course. No idea why but I do remember those key punch machines and card readers were a pita.

I'm enjoying my Disney Parks Blend Joffrey's coffee this morning and trying to transport myself to WDW through my taste buds.

Looking forward to this weekend....I don't have to work!!!

In addition to Father's Day on Sunday, it's also my birthday (I know.....I get screwed out of 2 gifts this year....). DW says we're going "out" tomorrow night without the kids....I dunno where...frankly I don't care. I'm looking forward to whatever she has planned. It's nice being on the non-planning end for a change as the planning usually falls on my lap.

And Sunday should be a great day as well...heading to my parents for some kind of cook-out where many beverages will be had!

I need to go back and read up on how this "30 years ago" string got started. One score and 10 years ago I was finishing up 4th grade, Ryne Sandberg was becoming a household name on his way to the MVP, and I was a few months from heartbreak as the Cubs lost to the Padres in the playoffs. The first time the Cubs made me cry.

Yup. I painted the boys room with Diney themed paint from Glidden. There room is orange and blue. When I got done I was like holy crap, these are Florida Gator colors Guess it's a sign I need to move

My daddy/daughter trip has gone from Deluxe, to Moderate, to Value. DD likes the Ariel rooms at Art of Animation. Anybody stay there before? I'm not a fan of how far it is from everything and the fact that the Ariel rooms are a looong way from the buses. However, I am a fan of the price. With a Halloween Party, BBB, and Wild Africa Trek I suppose something had to give.

Chris - I've also heard that the Ariel rooms are quite a trek from anything. But I've heard that the pool and the food court make up for it.

We did that at Christmas last year. I had the nerf gun with the 6 shot clip, and I bought the dds a gun with the six loading revolver type. They looked happy when they opened their stockings and saw the nerf guns, but not so much when I ambushed them with mine underneath the couch.
