This is definitely something he planned. He walked right by a number of civilians without even a threat but he targeted the police. Now I'm sure there will be someone arguing that he is mentally unstable and can't be held criminally responsible for his actions. Hogwash!!

Good Morning Men! Finally getting a chance to get back to the boards. Still crazy busy here. My uncle passed away overnight on Thursday from a short battle with liver and kidney problems. He was not eligible for transplant list due to having prostate cancer. He was told the cancer would not be what killed him. I guess the doctors were right on half of that as it wasn't the actual cause of death, but certainly prevented him from getting the treatment needed to save his life.

Off to CT this weekend for a hoop tournament.

Got our MNSSHP tickets today. My youngest will now be an adult for Disney prices. I wasn't planning for that one yet. Still, I redeemed my $200 Disney Reward Dollars and ended up paying about $70 for all four tickets. Now, if I could only do that for the other theme park tickets.

Question for my fellow dads, DD's grandmother on her mothers side passed away last night from lung cancer, she was a very sweet and funny lady but since I have had custody, DD hasn't seen her much, partly due to them moving to FL and GA but they moved back I think in Jan. she saw her once since they moved back. How should I talk to DD about this and I may be wrong but I don't think DD should go to the funeral she's 6 and I think it'll just confuse her.

It may be too late for advice, but just in case. My grandmother passed away when my children were 6 and 8. We brought them to both the wake and funeral. We explained to them the process and answered any questions. I think it was the right thing to do and they did get some level of closure. I would say go and take DD with you.

On the pregnancy thing........Now that is a tough one. Just give DD all the love and attention she needs and help her work through it if she has any negative feelings. Good luck.

For my birthday, Jodi gave me a trip to DisneyWorld. We leave in the morning.

Now that is a birthday present. Enjoy storming the castle.

So I made a mistake tonight, DS had his soccer practice cancelled but they were required to do a run and DW thought it would be a good time for a family run.

She forgot that she does a 5K and DS was required to run a series of sprints for about 20 minutes. I volunteered to run with him and realized that it's hard to keep up with a 6 foot tall 13 year old.

My 16 year old is 5' 7" and I stopped trying to keep up with him a while ago. I realized it was over for me in the Dominican last February wen we played the adults against the kids in soccer and we got crushed.

Looks like there's also a shooter at a college campus in Seattle as well.

3 shot, 1 killed... suspect apprehended.

Yup, these school shooting are getting ridiculous. It just gets worse and worse. Prayers to all involved.

For our October trip, the plans are coming together. Got ADR's booked. Only a few, the rest will be CS. No meal plan and with just 2 of us, we'll wing it for most meals. Limo set to pick DD after school on Friday and whisk us off to the airport. Boy will that be a surprise. Now to just make sure I keep intercepting the mail. Already had to do it twice to avoid any uncomfortable questions about why Mickey keeps sending us mail.

I’m told that it’s National Doughnut Day. I’m also told that if you walk into a Krispy Cream they’ll give you one for free. The folks at Dunkin will also give one up, but you have to buy a drink first. I cannot currently prove these statements to be true, but I may have to test the theory later on.

Morning. I begin my summer of 4 day work weeks as I am off Fridays. Played 3 sets of tennis last night and will need at least part of the day to recover.

Hopefully that doesn’t come with a one fifth reduction in income.
Enjoy the adjusted schedule. More home time is always a bonus.

Nope. I get about 60 paid days off a year, including the holidays. It's up to me when to use them.

Exhausting week this week. You may or may not have heard about our I-495 bridge that had to be shut down when it was discovered that some of the piers are leaning out of alignment.

I'm managing the survey crews and we need to gather data before the engineers can even begin to design a solution. So we've had a couple of very long nights here. Say what you will about state workers, but we've been leaning on our shovels 24 hours/day here all week.

Exhausting week this week. You may or may not have heard about our I-495 bridge that had to be shut down when it was discovered that some of the piers are leaning out of alignment.

I'm managing the survey crews and we need to gather data before the engineers can even begin to design a solution. So we've had a couple of very long nights here. Say what you will about state workers, but we've been leaning on our shovels 24 hours/day here all week.

Well stop leaning on the shovels and get to work.

Morning guys. Man I have been slacking. It has been nuts at work. I swear people cannot show up for work because of the stupidest things. DW decided she will be moving in with her parents while I'm gone. Should be able to save some money and take a good vacation when I get back.

Before DVC, close to 10 years ago, we did a bounce back offer and then had to move it. We still kept the discount. I don't know if they do that anymore, but that might be an option.

I don't know about that but we do get a pretty good discount with the military one. I think in a deluxe its like 40% or some where near that. Of course it depends on availability. AKL was really nice tho Landon loved the resort.

Cool that your DW can save some money up. I don't know if I could handle living my parents again, though. I forget that you get those 40% discounts. That is better than most any offer, perhaps even DVC since you don't have the initial purchase amount or annual dues. It is great now that a week at the BWV costs $500.
